Hello friends

While I was swinging for at least one more article about Nha Trang, we already flew to St.

I will tell you about my feelings, conclusions and future plans later, and today I will briefly talk about the main attractions of Nha Trang.

I will tell you where you can go with children in Nha Trang, what to do and how to while away the time when the sea and the beach are already tired.

Nha Trang beaches

I used to write separate posts about every interesting place, but now is not the time. Time is a shortage, so in one article I will try to briefly outline for you all the interesting and not very places of Nha Trang.

There will be a lot of photos and short videos from the phone, so the quality of the pictures may be average, but very heartily)

Lone Sean Pagoda

Let's start with the simplest and closest.

Long Son Pagoda in Nha Trang is located in the Vietnamese quarter of the city. From the center, go no more than 10-15 minutes. This is one of the few attractions in Nha Trang, so it's worth a visit.

Long Sean Pagoda in Nha Trang

We went to the pagoda in December, when the weather in Nha Trang was bad, maybe that's why the impressions remained so-so. A pagoda is like a pagoda. Nothing special in our opinion.

The territory is quite small and everything about everything can be easily met in half an hour. Dress code - decent)

Reclining Buddha on the territory of the pagoda

The main white Buddha of Nha Trang

Free admission. Opening hours from 08.00 to 20.00. Coordinates of the pagoda - 12.251994, 109.180803

Hong Chong Rock Garden

Another attraction of Nha Trang is the so-called rock garden. Of course, you can hardly call it a tourist attraction, but all sightseeing tours include this place in their program. The Vietnamese just came up with a good idea by monetizing the usual pile of stones. They even thought of some kind of legend for him, but we did not delve into the essence. The place is beautiful in good weather and you can visit.

Cafe near the rock garden with a beautiful view

The ticket price is 20,000 dongs per person.

You can get there by taxi. 15-20 minutes from the center. By bus # 4 for 20 minutes. The stop is right at the entrance. Garden coordinates - 12.272708, 109.206235

In my personal opinion, this is the only really worthwhile attraction in Nha Trang.

The Cham Towers are the remains of a Hindu temple from the 7th to 12th centuries AD.

The place is considered to be very strong spiritually and energetically. The territory, although not large, is very beautiful and atmospheric. Here, in good weather, small concerts with folk songs and dances are held. Very nice and interesting.

Small show in the territory of the towers

As with any functioning temple, your dress must be appropriate. For those dressed "indecently" you can take a long skirt that covers your knees at the entrance.

The towers are located near the city center behind the bridge.

View of the city from the territory of the towers

You can also take bus # 4 or taxi. Location coordinates - 12.265340, 109.196017

Entrance fee - 22,000 VND

Mud mineral springs I-Resort

In one word - class place. Without children, it would be chic.

In fact, we did not go to the thermal pools of Nha Trang at all, but at the end of wintering in Vietnam, we decided to get there. And they did not regret it.

The place is very atmospheric, beautiful, colorful and interesting. As if not in Vietnam at all.

There are many different pools, a spa, a restaurant, and, of course, mud baths. We did not take baths, because with children is a utopia, given that children can be in such baths no more than 10 minutes. But even, despite the hustle and bustle, and the impossibility of complete relaxation, we really liked the place and we advise you to visit.

It is located a little on the outskirts. The easiest way is to take a taxi. The price from the center will be around 100,000 VND. We went back in an electric car for 20,000 per person. You can buy a ticket directly at the I-Resort ticket office.

The cost of the visit starts from 120,000 VND and depends on the services chosen.

Location coordinates - 12.272727, 109.175797

Excursion to Young Bay National Park

Perhaps, for the first time during our travels, we were so lazy that we began to book excursions in travel agencies;) For some reason, it was in Vietnam that it was easier for us to travel that way.

One of our trips was to Young Bay waterfall.

Drive to Young Bay Park

Here is a completely different Vietnam

The trip is designed for almost a full day and includes Young Bay Park itself, a show (better not to watch), a crocodile park and a small park with a wish tree. The price of a trip for an adult in Russian agencies starts at $ 19 and depends on the degree of promotion of the agency itself.

We enjoyed the trip very much. The impressions are very good and the memories are pleasant. We advise you to travel with children without fail, although it will be very interesting for adults too.

And a short video sketch about the excursion to the Young Bay Park

Excursion to the northern islands

Another trip that we made with a travel agency. You can safely go on your own, but again we decided not to bother.

The trip includes a visit to two islands: Orchid Island + Monkey Island. Designed for the whole day with lunch.

Reindeer feeding on the northern islands

A riot of colors on the islands

There are beautiful bounty beaches, animal shows, and simply beautiful nature. A trip to visit is a must. This is a qualitatively different Vietnam that must be seen.

Excursion cost per person from 22 $

Separately, a few words about children's places and where you can go with your child in Nha Trang.

Frankly, there is not much variety, but what is the main thing at sea? That's right - the sea)

The main joy at sea is the sea itself)

Museum of impressions in Nha Trang

The only worthy place in Nha Trang itself for children. The museum is not very big, but there will definitely be enough entertainment for children. Here is the giant's room, and various unusual photo zones and just a playroom.

Entrance ticket 150,000 VND for adults / 75,000 VND for children up to 120 cm

Location coordinates - 12.217823, 109.192054

Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang

This type of oceanarium in Nha Trang made a very sad impression on me personally. Everything is old, dirty, wretched. I can't say otherwise. I do not recommend visiting. Only if there is absolutely nothing to do with children in Nha Trang. Children may and will be interested in seeing fish, but adults are likely to be sad.

Location coordinates - 12.207449, 109.214535

Entrance ticket 40,000 VND for adults / 20,000 VND for children

As you can see, there is definitely something to do in Nha Trang. I can't say that there are a lot of places, but you can't win out of boredom, even in bad weather.

In addition to the sights of Nha Trang listed in the article, there are two more. Very famous and desirable to visit. This is the Winperl entertainment island and Dalat city within a few hours' drive.

We were not. Lazy, yes) At first there was bad weather, then the baby got sick, and before leaving, she didn't want to go anywhere.

General conclusions and results will be announced in the next article and at the same time I will share my plans for the near future)

Nha Trang is one of the main resorts in central Vietnam. It is a perfect combination of classic beach holidays and excursions to picturesque national parks. The city is located along a wide bay surrounded by green mountains. Not far from the coast of Nha Trang in the South China Sea, small archipelagos are scattered, where lovers of secluded recreation and divers flock.

The tourist area of the city includes several streets where the main hotels, restaurants of local cuisine, souvenir shops and numerous agencies are ready to organize an excursion to anywhere in Vietnam (and if there is enough time, even to Laos and Cambodia). If you wish, you can stroll through the colorful local markets or visit the central quarters where the townspeople live their normal lives.

What to see and where to go in Nha Trang?

The most interesting and beautiful places for walking. Photos and a short description.

In the 7th-12th centuries, the medieval principality of Champa (Chapma) existed in part of the territory of southern and central Vietnam. The Po Nagar Towers on Mount Cu Lao were erected in the 10th century during the heyday of this state. Only four buildings have survived to this day. The Cham Towers are a Hindu religious complex. Until now, they are a cult place for a part of the Vietnamese.

The cable car connects the coast of Nha Trang with the Hon Che island, on which the Vinpearl Land amusement park is located. The length of the road is over 3 km. The design of the metal supports resembles the outline of the Eiffel Tower (due to the beautiful night illumination, an even greater resemblance to a Parisian landmark is achieved). The cable car ride lasts 10-15 minutes. During this time, the passenger has time to admire the coast and islands.

Located on Hon Che Island, Winperl can be called one of the city's most visited attractions. Hundreds of tourists go to this "land of entertainment" every day. The vast territory includes a water park, an amusement park, an oceanarium and a slot machine room. Visitors can relax on the beaches of a local five-star hotel, dine at one of the many restaurants, and watch a colorful fountain show in the evening.

The main Buddhist complex of the Khanh Hoa province and at the same time is a popular attraction of Nha Trang, where all guests of the city strive to get. The architectural dominant of the pagoda is the 14-meter white Buddha statue, to which a long staircase of 150 steps leads. This statue can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Inside the pedestal on which the god sits, there is a temple.

The pagoda is located outside the city on a hilltop. It is not so easy to get to it, as the last stop of public transport is an hour and a half walk from the temple. Moreover, tourists will have a long uphill climb. But at the end of the trip, all those who risked a surprise await - breathtaking views of the rice fields, mountains and green surroundings of Nha Trang.

The Catholic Church of St. Mary, inherited by Vietnam from the French colonists. The cathedral houses the residence of the bishop of Nha Trang. The building was erected in the 1930s in the Gothic style. Its façade is decorated with pointed arches, the windows are decorated with multicolored stained-glass windows, and the roof is crowned with a church tower with a clock dial. There is a small courtyard around the cathedral where the statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus are installed.

A lotus-shaped structure that adorns the city embankment. The real name of the building is the Incense Tower. Previously, there was a memorial on the site in honor of the fallen defenders of the Khanh Hoa province. In 2008, partly at the expense of the Vinpearl Land hotel complex, an exhibition complex was erected, resembling the shape of a well-known flower. Its premises are used for various exhibitions.

The museum is located in a wing of the research institute, which was founded by A. Jersen in 1891. In Vietnam, this scientist is highly revered. Many streets and educational institutions are named after him. He devoted his life to the study of bacteria - the causative agents of plague and other diseases. The museum exposition reproduces the atmosphere of A. Jersen's study. The collection consists of books, personal belongings and tools.

Long Tan is a renowned Vietnamese photographer who has dedicated his entire life to the art of black and white photography. There is a small gallery in his house, which houses a collection of photographs depicting the daily life and life of the Vietnamese. The master filmed various subjects, starting from the middle of the XX century. His works are distinguished by variety, originality and expressiveness. You can buy a picture you like.

An entertainment complex located in the southern part of the city. The exposition of the museum is located on the territory of a traditional Vietnamese house. The collection consists of 3D paintings and optical illusion rooms where you can take funny pictures. The museum will be of interest to visitors with children, as the tour is somewhat reminiscent of a fun game during which you can immerse yourself in a magical "looking glass".

A scientific institution dedicated to the exploration of the deep sea since the 1920s. The institute has an oceanarium where you can see the inhabitants of the Pacific Ocean. Stingrays, moray eels, turtles and exotic fish swim in the aquariums. On the second floor, there are stuffed sea inhabitants. Part of the exposition is located in aquariums inside the building, the other part - in tanks outside.

The aquarium is located on one of the islands off the coast of Nha Trang. The original building of the aquarium is made in the form of a pirate ship. Locals nicknamed it "Neptune's palace". Chi Nguyen was founded by a simple fisherman Le Kahn, who was remembered by his contemporaries for his love of nature and his country. In 1971, using his own funds, he dug a pond, where he began to breed representatives of the marine fauna. Over time, his collection has grown into a large maritime museum.

The fortress is located about 10 km from Nha Trang. Presumably, it was built in the 18th century during the reign of one of the last emperors of independent Vietnam. Brick and marble were used in the construction of the citadel. Only part of the buildings have survived to this day, since Dien Khan was badly damaged during the French invasion. The preserved gates and part of the walls are in a rather neglected state.

The reserve is located on the mountain of the same name, several tens of kilometers from Nha Trang. This is a real kingdom of impenetrable green forests and foggy horizons. Most of the park is located at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, so the local climate is very different from the coastal and flat. In the middle of the reserve, at the top of the mountain, there is a house-museum of Alexander Yerssen.

A visit to Yang Bay Natural Park is included in many excursion routes. It is located about an hour's drive from Nha Trang. Here tourists can admire the Yang Kang, Yang Bay and HoCho waterfalls, feed the crocodiles, ride an ostrich and watch a musical performance by the local Raglai tribe. Also for visitors are arranged such entertainments as pig races and cock fights.

Ba Ho is a group of three waterfalls located in the vicinity of Zoklet Beach. To get to this natural attraction, you need to overcome a rather difficult road that passes through the mountainous terrain. Most tourists limit themselves to inspecting the first of three waterfalls, only a few reach the last, since only physically hardy people can overcome the path to it.

During the period of Soviet-Vietnamese friendship, monkeys were bred on this island to be sent to the USSR. Then the supplies were stopped and the animals filled the entire territory. Now Monkey Island is a protected area, a real "kingdom of monkeys", where, according to various estimates, more than 1500 individuals live. For tourists, entertainment shows are organized here, cafes and restaurants work, and a beach is also equipped.

Almost the entire territory of Hon Moon Island is classified as a protected area and is under the auspices of the World Wildlife Fund. People come here not only to relax on the white beaches. The coastal waters of Hon Mun are inhabited by amazing marine life, so all tourists who want to dive and enjoy the beauty of the underwater world flock to the island.

A large spa center near the Po Nagar temple complex. It is located in a picturesque area surrounded by eucalyptus groves and flowering gardens. At Thap Ba you can spend the whole day taking healing hot baths, swimming in the pools and enjoying healing procedures. Local curative mud helps with many ailments. After visiting the resort, tourists can purchase jars of this substance as a souvenir.

Another "mud baths" in Nha Trang, which competes with Thap Ba springs. Service packages are available to visitors, which include various procedures. A visit to the I-Resort is a great alternative to a beach holiday, especially on a cloudy day (the water in the center's pools is always warm). The main pool of the complex is stylized as a white sand sea beach.

New spa resort that opened in 2012. The complex covers an area of 23 hectares. Here, in addition to swimming pools and hot springs, there is a botanical garden, a zoo, an impromptu ethnic village, a temple and observation decks offering magnificent views. The name "100 eggs" is associated with the legend of the love of a dragon and a magic bird. From the eggs laid by the bird, a hundred peoples of Vietnam subsequently hatched.

Hon Chong is located in the server side of Nha Trang. The cape is strewn with stones of all possible sizes and shapes. Sometimes the boulders gather in bizarre shapes, against the background of which spectacular photographs are obtained. At the local souvenir shop, you can buy a picture made of stones as a keepsake. The cape offers a breathtaking view of the vastness of the South China Sea, especially during sunrise and sunset.

In the fields of Hon Khoi, commercial salt production is carried out. They are located about 50 km from Nha Trang near Zoklet Beach. The plantations are flooded with seawater, which evaporates within a few days and leaves snow-white crystals. After that, the salt is collected and sent for processing. The work is carried out in the morning, since the salt collected in the very heat is considered unfit for consumption.

Zoklet is considered one of the best beaches in and around Nha Trang. It is located 50 km north of the city. You can get there by taxi, bike or public transport. Tourists appreciate this place for the beauty of the scenery, clear sea and the opportunity to be in relative seclusion, since there are usually few people here. Zoklet is ideal for families with children due to its gentle slope and shallow sea depth.

The city beach stretches for several kilometers along the sea line. It is free, but you will have to pay to rent the hotel's sun loungers and umbrellas. A stone-paved promenade with squares and equipped recreation areas leads along the beach. The ideal time for swimming is the first half of the day, as the waves rise in the afternoon and the water becomes cloudy.

Which excursions are worth going and which are not. Which trips to buy at travel agencies, and which excursions are best to go on your own. Prices, instructions, photos and reviews - today from the blog.

Excursions in Nha Trang can be roughly divided into several types:

Boat trips to the islands (Northern Islands, Southern Islands),

Excursions to remote beaches outside the city (Zoklet, Cam Ranh, etc.),

Excursions to waterfalls and hot springs (waterfalls Young Bay, Baho),

Excursions to the provinces adjacent to Nha Trang (the mountain city of Dalat, the province of Daklak elephant hunters),

Long distance travel (Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Halong, Cambodia)

Excursions to spa and entertainment centers (Winperl, Thap Ba mud baths, I-resort and 100 Egg Mud Bath)

Vietnamese or Russian travel agencies: who to choose

Let's first figure out who offers excursions in Nha Trang. All travel agencies here can be roughly divided into two categories:

1. Vietnamese agencies. There are practically in every mini-hotel and on any tourist street in Nha Trang. They offer basic excursions around the city's outskirts, sea tours at minimal prices.

2. Foreign (including Russian) agencies. The same set of basic excursions in Nha Trang, as well as recreational excursions such as rafting on the river, fishing, trips to neighboring provinces and countries.

As a rule, prices for excursions from local Vietnamese agencies are lower than those of Russian-speaking ones. They will explain this to you with the best service, food, the presence of a Russian-speaking guide and an extended program. Sometimes this is really true. But it so happens that people who bought an excursion for $ 8 from the Vietnamese and for $ 25 from Russian agents are put on one boat, taken to the same islands and fed the same way. Therefore, before buying an excursion, ask the price, find out all the nuances of the "extended service". For example, on sea excursions, a Russian-speaking guide is not needed at all, so there is no point in overpaying for it. And you can even go on some excursions on your own - by bus or by renting a bike.

It is worth buying long-distance excursions from Russian agencies, which are not organized by the Vietnamese. These are trips to Dalat and Daklak. This is where a Russian-speaking guide really comes in handy.

What excursions are not worth going in Nha Trang:

First of all, of the many options, we will mark out those that are not worth considering at all.

Sightseeing tour of Nha Trang

The cost is from 20 to 50 dollars per person. Excursion time - 3-5 hours.

A completely pointless waste of time and money. Typically, a tour that costs between $ 20 and $ 50 per person includes a trip to the White Buddha, Po Nagar Tower and Long Son Pagoda. You can get there by taxi for a couple of dollars or by bus, see everything calmly, without haste, spending as much time as you want. And also saving you a ton of money. is in a separate post.

The Catholic Cathedral of Nha Trang, a visit to which is also included in the sightseeing tour, is located in the city center. It can be easily reached on foot from almost anywhere in the city.

The sightseeing tour sometimes includes visits to shops and manufactories, promising you the lowest prices in the area. But why pay so much money to just take you shopping?

Excursion from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Cost from $ 50 + $ 20 bus tickets. Tour time 36-48 hours.

A very tiring bus tour that is absolutely not worth the time and money spent. You will be offered to go to Ho Chi Minh City on a (slipper bass), then they will take you by bus around the city and the surrounding area all day, and in the evening you will again go to Nha Trang on a sleeper. Yes, Ho Chi Minh is a beautiful city. Definitely worth a visit. But not with a one-day excursion in a "gallop across Europe" format. Perhaps you will like Vietnam so much that you will want to come back here and next time fly to. Then my city guide will come in handy to help you organize the excursion yourself.

The same advice applies to distant and Halong Bay. Better to go there on your own on your next vacation by arranging yourself a tour.

Da Lat for 1 day

The cost of the excursion is from $ 29. Duration - 13-14 hours.

Dalat is an amazing mountain town located about 4-5 hours drive from Nha Trang. Very beautiful, intimate and with a great variety of attractions. You definitely need to go to Dalat, just not for one day, but for two at least!

Diving in Nha Trang

The cost is $ 60-100 per person. Duration - 7-8 hours.

Diving in the Nha Trang area is generally a frivolous activity. Especially for certified divers. There are dozens of places in the world where diving is much more interesting than in the South China Sea off the coast of Nha Trang. Don't waste your time and money.

What excursions in Nha Trang are better to buy at a travel agency:

Da Lat for 2 days

The cost is $ 70 per person. Duration - 36 hours.

If you do not ride a bike and are not good at organizing excursions on your own, buy a two-day trip to Dalat in Nha Trang from a travel agency. In two days you will see several waterfalls, the famous Crazy House, the extraordinary beauty of the Chuk Lam Buddhist temple on the mountain, ride a cable car and visit a few more interesting places. And how beautiful Dalat is at sunset!

We ourselves organized our trip to Dalat and went there on a regular bus. How it was and how much money we spent, read in separate posts.

Northern Islands (Nha Phu Bay)

The cost is $ 19-24. The duration of the excursion is 6-7 hours.

Islands of monkeys, deer and orchids north of Nha Trang. An interesting boat trip worth going to. During the excursion, you can feed the monkeys, ride ostriches and elephants.

You can organize an excursion to the northern islands on your own if you ride a bike. Such an excursion cost us $ 30 for three. A visit to Monkey Island can be combined with a trip. Here's a post on how it was:

Southern islands

Cost - $ 8. Duration 7-8 hours.

Sea excursion, which during Vietnamese agencies costs $ 8. Includes a trip to the Aquarium on Tri Nguyen Island and a beach holiday on several islands south of Nha Trang. A simple, unpretentious excursion, for which you do not need to pay a lot of money.

But I would recommend buying a two-day ready-made tour from an agency. It costs almost as much as an independent trip, only you will have a constant guide and your own transport. Prices start at $ 70 per person. For a three-day trip to Daklak, we spent $ 175 for three (Arina was 2.5 years old). In an organized tour, you will be taken to two more waterfalls, where we did not reach.

What excursions you should organize yourself:

If you drive a scooter, then you may not use the services of travel agencies at all, but visit all interesting places on your own, as we did. Save tons of money and don't depend on a large group of people to accompany you on your excursions. Renting a bike in Nha Trang costs 5-6 dollars per day. You will spend the same amount on gasoline if you are thinking somewhere far out of town.

If you don't ride a bike, then study. Most attractions are easy to reach by bus.

In this post I will give only a short list of excursions in Nha Trang and their real cost - if you organize them yourself. Compare that with what the agencies offer you.

Long Sean Pagoda and the White Buddha

The entrance is free. Bus ride $ 0.6 round trip.

You can go by bus # 1, 2, 6 for $ 0.3 or by taxi for $ 2-3 one way.

A beautiful Buddhist temple, on the mountain there is a white statue of Buddha.

Cham Towers Po Nagar

The entrance ticket costs $ 1. Bus ride $ 0.6 round trip.

You can get there by bus # 6.

Famous ancient Cham towers, which are more than a thousand years old. From the mountain where the towers are built, an amazing view of Nha Trang opens.

Zoklet beach

Bus ride - $ 2.50 round trip.
An excursion to Zoklet at a travel agency costs from $ 20 per person.

White fine sand, azure sea ... Zoklet Beach is a paradise 50 km from Nha Trang. Of course, it is worth visiting, but do not rush to pay for the excursion $ 20 per person. There is a bus number 3 to Zoklet beach from Nha Trang. All stops in Nha Trang are marked on the bus route map. The journey costs a little more than one dollar one way, and it takes about an hour and a half to go. In Vietnamese, the beach is called Doc Let.

Important information:
There are two routes # 3. With a white number on the bus - city, travels within Nha Trang. And the same number 3 with a yellow number on the windshield goes to the Zoklet beach.

Winperl Island and Entertainment Complex

Entrance fee is $ 30 per adult and $ 25 per child. Bus ticket - $ 0.6 round trip.

This place is just a must-visit. A cable car with a length of more than three kilometers leads to the island. Winperle has a water park, an aquarium, an amusement park and many stunning attractions. If you are short on time in Nha Trang, then go to Vinperl first.

Tickets are cheaper to buy in advance on the official Winperl website.
