Mallorca is one of the largest islands that make up Spain, located in the Balearic archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. I believe that this is truly a heavenly place where you can enjoy picturesque landscapes, clean beaches and forget about all everyday problems.

This small island, whose area is only 3.5 thousand square kilometers, is slightly different from the resorts we are used to in Spain, and all because in its entire long history it has managed to be at the disposal of the Phoenicians, Romans, and of course, the Arabs. Therefore, the culture here is really very rich!

My acquaintance with this wonderful island began with its capital - Palma de Mallorca. It is here that all its main attractions are concentrated.

As soon as I left the airport, I was struck by the long palm tree lane that led the arriving tourists to the parking lot. The palm trees there are truly stately, the size of three-story houses! You look and cannot believe your eyes that only 4 hours ago you were in a gray rainy city, and now you are already among such beauty!

And when you drive directly into the capital itself, your eyes start to run up. You look to the left - a sea of turquoise color, you look to the right - a majestic cathedral, and right in front of you - high mountains.

Here you want to take pictures of absolutely everything, so I advise you to free up memory on your phone, tablet and camera in advance, because you will constantly have a desire to capture this or that place!

How to get there

You can get to Mallorca by two types of transport: air and water.

By far the most commonly used and comfortable option is the airy one. In the capital of the island, Palma, there is an international airport, from where liners of various European airlines leave and land every half an hour.

As for water communication, Palma has the main port of the island, where ships from various parts of Spain arrive every day, which is very convenient for tourists who spend most of their time on the mainland, for example, in Barcelona or Valencia, and on weekends go on an excursion to Palm tree.

You can get around the island by bus, car or train.

By plane

The main and only airport of the island, which bears the name Son san joan , located 8 kilometers from the capital, Palma de Mallorca. It is here that both external and internal flights arrive. The airport has very good connections with various European countries, including Russia.

Flights from Moscow

Direct flights from Moscow (Domodedovo airport) fly to Mallorca: S7 airlines, the average cost of a round-trip ticket is 20 thousand rubles. In addition, you can fly to the island by flights with one or more transfers, which are carried out by the Spanish airline Iberia also from Domodedovo airport for the same price (about 20 thousand rubles). It is worth noting that there are several other European airlines that carry transfers to Palma, for example:

  • Finnair;
  • Lufthansa;
  • Swiss;
  • Czech Airlines;

But then the flight time will be more than 20 hours, which is completely inconvenient and not worth the money. Therefore, I advise you to choose a direct flight!

In this case, the travel time will be only 4.5 hours, so I recommend not to save on tickets and not spend the whole day on endless transfers.

You can compare prices yourself, for example.

How to get from the airport to the city

You can get from the airport to the city center either by bus or by taxi.

By far the more economical option is the bus. Routes 1 and 17 run here constantly, which will take you to Palma for only 3 €. If you need to go to the resort town of Arenal, then bus number 21 leaves from here directly to its center.

But a taxi will cost much more - the average cost of a trip is 20 €, and if you are traveling in a group, you can order a minivan for 40 €.

In addition, you can rent a car directly at the airport, there is a wide range of car rental companies (Hertz, Avis, Europcar). The average rental price starts from 50 € per day. Details below.

By ferry

So, the second way to get to Mallorca is to sail from another part of Spain by ferry or high-speed catamaran. The latter are sent daily to the island directly from:

  • Barcelona (4.5 hours drive),
  • Valencia (4-6 hours drive),
  • Menorca (2.5 hours drive),
  • Ibiza (3 hours drive)

The average ticket price is 40 € and depends on the characteristics of the vessel.

How to get from the port to the center

The port of Palma de Mallorca is located 6 kilometers from the city center, if you wish and good physical fitness, you can walk to the center along the promenade, enjoying beautiful views and a light breeze, or take bus number 1 for only 1.5 €.

The bus stop is next to the port. Of course, you can catch a taxi and drive to the Cathedral (the trip will cost 10 €).

When is the season. When is the best time to go

According to local residents, the island of Mallorca reveals itself to tourists in all its glory at the end of spring and continues to delight the eye until mid-autumn. This is the best time to relax!

As for winter, the Spaniards believe that at this time of the year their life becomes very calm, quiet and even a little boring. Although the weather in winter is favorable here (about +14 ° C), there is absolutely nothing to do. Because even on the beach you won't lie down, you won't swim, and you won't enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables. Therefore, it is not worth going to Mallorca in the low season (that is, from November to March). The only tourists on the island at this time are employees of companies who arrange business meetings, trainings or business trips here.

Mallorca in summer

Like all resorts, Mallorca is especially beautiful in summer. It is at this time of the year that the temperature of the air and water reaches its maximum level and all the most beautiful flowers and shrubs of the island bloom everywhere. By the way, it was in Mallorca that I noticed a very large number of those very flowering evergreens, and this cannot but please the eye!

Of course, summer (especially July) is also a vacation time, so there are a lot of tourists here, in fact, as elsewhere. But since Mallorca is still an island and it is not cheap to rest on it, wealthy Europeans and most often those over 35 or young families with children like to come here. It is believed that recreation in Mallorca is quite calm and the pace of life is measured, so all young people who prefer nightclubs to evening boat trips go to the neighboring island, Ibiza. But at the same time, it cannot be said that Mallorca is a remote place suitable only for retirees: here you can also have fun and actively relax. But the most important treasure of the island is its incredibly beautiful nature! Such landscapes as here, you will not see anywhere else!

By the way, the climate here is very pleasant, in summer the air temperature reaches around +30 ° C, and in winter - +15 ° C. Unfortunately, there is nothing to do in Mallorca in winter. Locals say they have a lull at this time of year. In fact, the island is inhabited by about a million people, so at a time when all tourists go home, the island becomes empty and almost deserted. Residents calmly go about their daily affairs, and nothing special happens here. Therefore, I do not advise you to go here in winter, although if you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, then here you can definitely be alone with yourself and nature. It is not for nothing that it is here that the residence of the Spanish royal family is located! And also such celebrities as Claudia Schiffer, Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow bought villas in Mallorca. Since Mallorca caters to the demanding taste of the stars of the first magnitude, then you will surely like it too!

Mallorca in autumn

The beginning of autumn in Mallorca is considered velvet season, therefore, until the end of September, you can have time to enjoy the bright sun and warm sea. But since October, the sun sets at 7 pm, and it becomes noticeably colder, the temperature reaches + 7-8 ° C.

Even in the period from late October to early November, rain and thunderstorms become more frequent on the island. Therefore, at this time it is no longer worth resting in Mallorca.

Mallorca in spring

Spring in Mallorca gradually begins the high season, already in March - April the air temperature reaches + 20-23 ° C, the warm pleasant sun is shining, and flowers begin to bloom. At this time, you still can't swim, but you can already take sun baths.

In spring, the island is good because there are still few tourists here, and you can spend a quiet relaxing vacation.

Mallorca in winter

Winter in Mallorca is a time of complete peace and tranquility. The sun shines here quite often, and snow falls only in the mountains, it rarely reaches the lowlands. December is considered a rainy month, but January and February are characterized by pleasant, comfortable weather. The average daytime temperature reaches + 14-15 ° C.

The only caveat is that it is very boring here in winter, and this is a favorite time of the year for retirees.

What are the prices for rest

As I mentioned earlier, holidays on the island of Mallorca can be classified as luxury, and therefore here you will find hundreds of villas and apartments for rent, the price of which starts from 1.5 thousand € for 10 days.

In principle, if you compare this price with hotels, the difference will be insignificant. For the same 10 days in a 3-star hotel in any area of the island, you will pay an average of about 1.7 thousand €, and in a 5-star hotel - about 4 €.

If you consider that in your apartments you will cook yourself, and in hotels use the all-inclusive service, then the costs will be approximately the same.

Therefore, you decide which is more convenient, but personally I lived in a good 3-star hotel, where, in addition to all-inclusive meals, there is a free gym, bar, pool and, of course, theme parties!

TOP 5 best hotels on the island

I would like to present to you my TOP-5 of the best hotels on the island:

  • Globales Simar 4 * (from 1.7 thousand € for 10 days for two).
  • Barcelo Ponent Playa 3 * (from 1.3 thousand € for 10 days for two).
  • Globales Palmanova 4 * (from 2.1 thousand € for 10 days for two).
  • Insotel Cala Mandia Resort & Spa 4 * (from 4.2 thousand € for 10 days for two).
  • Blue Bay Hotel 3 * (from 1.2 thousand € for 10 days for two).

You can navigate the prices for ready-made tours (with flights, transfers, accommodation and insurance) to hotels of different categories in the Trevelask section.

Costs

So, if you decide to stay at a hotel, then there will be no problems with food, and if you decide to rent an apartment or a villa, then you have the option of shopping in supermarkets, of which there are quite a few on the island. One of the most popular, often catching my eye, is Eroski. This is a Spanish supermarket chain where you can buy everything from bread to hand cream at average Spanish prices.

If you buy groceries for a week, the average bill will be about 60 €. You can also visit restaurants and cafes, which will be quite expensive, given that the average bill will be 50-60 €.

You can go on excursions both independently and with a guide. Mallorca is a small island, from Palma to Alcudia can be reached in just an hour and a half, that is, it will not be difficult to travel the entire island far and wide in one day.

You can rent a car for 50–70 € per day and go to explore the island yourself, or you can travel by bus for just 6 €. A guided group tour on your own rented bus will cost you about € 100. A taxi ride around the island will cost around € 80–90.

Major attractions. What to see

Majorca is renowned for its many attractions and incredibly beautiful must-see sites.

If you like to learn all the smallest details and interesting facts about certain attractions, then you can hire a guide or order a full-fledged excursion. And if you like to independently walk in beautiful places and independently discover something new, then you can inspect everything yourself.

It is worth choosing a day for the excursion in advance, it is advisable to single out one of the weekdays (except Friday), since on weekends the locals begin to have siesta and rest, and there are too many people on the streets who will interfere with you properly considering everything. In Mallorca, bad weather is extremely rare, so you should not be afraid of rain and cold weather, but you can still look at the forecast before walking, just in case.

The island's capital, Palma, is not very large, so you can walk around the city and see the main attractions.

The map below shows the main tourist spots, museums, galleries, bus stops and more.

I bring to your attention my version of one day in the capital of the island of Palma, I advise you to get around on the Citysightseeing tourist bus (ticket price 18.5 €):

  • 10:00 - we go to Bellver Castle, which is located a couple of kilometers from the city. Here we will spend about 2 hours.
  • 12:00 - we are heading to the Spanish village.
  • 13:30 - stop for lunch at Sadrassana Restaurant Cocteleria (Placa Drassana, 15).
  • 15:00 - we go to the cathedral. Since this place is considered the main attraction of the city, we will spend about 2 hours here.
  • 17:00 - go to the main tourist streets of Palma and walk, go to the Rivareno ice cream parlor (Plaza Llotja, 1) and enjoy the most delicious cold dessert of the island.
  • 20:00 - Have a seafood dinner at La Parada del Mar restaurant (Avenida Joan Miro 244 Marivent) and celebrate the end of a great day with a glass of sangria.

Beaches. Which is better

Mallorca is an ideal place for a beach holiday, it is on this island that there are dozens of the best beaches in Spain, but what is there in Spain, the whole world! In fact, no matter what beach you come to, it will definitely be quiet, comfortable and clean. Even not far from Palma in resort areas, where thousands of tourists rest, they are very worthy! But the most best places in order to soak up the sun and enjoy swimming in the clear sea water - secluded coves, of which there are many in Mallorca.

As I wrote above, I was vacationing in the Cala Major area, a few kilometers from the capital, and one day, quite by accident, I wandered into a cove where there was a small beach, and the sea there was crystal clear! There were not very many vacationers there, mostly locals and tourists like me, who, most likely, also accidentally found this piece of paradise.

And yet I will list the best of the best beaches in Mallorca that are worth visiting just to get an idea of what heaven on earth is.

Beach Cala S "Almunia

This beach is located in the bay of the town of Santanya and is surrounded by rocks, there is serenity and tranquility here. By the way, the beach has all the conditions for diving, and the soft azure waves will allow you to enjoy the sea to the fullest. Cala Mondragó beach

Another truly heavenly place in Mallorca. The beach is located on the territory of the natural park of the same name among pine trees and rocks. Despite the fact that this place is quite popular, you can enjoy peace and quiet here. By the way, this beach is shallow, so it is perfect for families with children. Seeing the splendor that Sa Calobra offers, you will forever keep in your heart the memories of that wonderful day when you got here! Museums. Which are worth visiting

There are quite a few museums in Mallorca, perhaps because the incredible nature compensates for all the cultural institutions here. Below I have selected some of the most interesting of them, which are really worthy of the attention of tourists.

Museum of ceramics

In the northeast, not far from Palma, is the small town of Sa Cabaneta, which is considered the center of ceramics production. In 2002, a museum opened here, displaying around a thousand traditional Mallorcan ceramics worth seeing. The museum has a pottery school and various souvenir shops.

Free admission. The museum is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1:30 pm.

Raiha Manor

12 kilometers from Palma, on the way to the town of Sawyer, there is a beautiful manor house, which is an object of historical and artistic value in Mallorca. Previously, there was a Moorish building here, and after several changes of owners, it came to the Count of Montenegro and was ennobled. There are incredibly beautiful landscapes, large gardens and wonderful architecture.

Museum address: Palma - Sóller Road, km. 12.2 07110 Bunyola.

Shoe Museum

In Mallorca, very high quality leather goods are made, including footwear. In 2010, a museum dedicated to this theme was opened in the city of Inca; various traditional exhibits are presented here, as well as temporary exhibitions with samples of various leather goods are often arranged here.

Parks

The island of Mallorca can be called one big park, wherever you go, you will be surrounded by small picturesque coves, green spaces, majestic mountains and endless expanses. Still, there are several noteworthy national parks and reserves on the island.

Parc Natural de Mondrago

It is pleasant to walk in this park during extreme heat, because numerous coniferous trees will shelter you from the scorching sun. There are several specific trails here that you can walk along which you can meet forest dwellers.

Nearby islands

If you are vacationing in Mallorca, then I advise you to choose a day or a whole weekend and devote it to a trip to Ibiza.

Balearia ferries leave from the main port of Palma to the port of Ibiza several times a day. The duration of the trip is approximately 3-4 hours, the average ticket price ranges from 50 to 70 euros per person. There are also Transmediterranea ferries from Mallorca to Ibiza, but it should be noted that they only run on Sundays in summer.

Details and schedule can be found on the official website of the company.

In Ibiza, you can walk around the capital of the island of the same name and look at its protective walls, which were erected here in the Middle Ages. The Punic Necropolis is also worth a visit, as well as the picturesque Cala d'Hort.

Food. What to try

At first, you might think that there are no traditional dishes in Mallorca, and that everyone is eating there the usual Spanish gazpachos, tapas and tortilla. But how surprised I was when I found out that this small island has its own national dishes that cannot be tasted on the continental part of the country.

Mallorquin soup

It is a broth with vegetables and pork and is served with sliced bread.

The soup is incredibly tasty and very satisfying, which is why the locals love it so much.

Tumbet

It contains vegetables such as potatoes, eggplant and onions.

And also meat or fish is added to them to taste.

Sobrasada

Be sure to try it - this is a moderately spicy sausage made from minced pork and bacon, very reminiscent of the chorizo, popular in Spain, since their cooking technology is very similar.

Ensaimada

And for dessert, don't forget to enjoy this delicious Majorcan Puff Pie. It is rightfully considered the most favorite sweet of the locals.

Ensaimada dough is airy, melting in the mouth, the pie itself is filled with whipped cream or delicate syrup, and sprinkled with icing sugar on top.

Beverages

Popular local drinks include Herbas secas (dry) and Herbas dulces (sweet). They are infused with anise with the addition of various aromatic herbs.

A very popular aperitif on the island is the Palo drink, made by mixing sweet caramel with the bitter bark of the cinchona tree.

Here's a list of the best restaurants on the island:

Holidays

As the locals joke, in Mallorca every day is a holiday! And this is fully justified: a wonderful climate, beautiful nature and the endless sea helps to ensure that the inhabitants of the island always have a great mood. But there are also several official holidays here.

Carnival of Sant Rua

A special celebration in Mallorca is the Sa Rua Carnival. Here it is held in winter, in the first half of February.

Dressed people in costumes take to the streets of the capital and arrange a procession. The carnival is held before the start of the Catholic fast.

Mallorca day

This holiday is celebrated on September 12, it was adopted by King Jaime II back in 1276, when the island of Mallorca was liberated from Muslims.

On this day, concerts and fairs are organized on the island.

Safety. What to watch out for

The island of Mallorca seemed to me a very calm and safe place. Of course, pickpocketing, which is widespread in Europe, should not be ruled out, but in general, walking in the evening in Palma and its environs is not at all scary, because in the summer life is in full swing here until late at night.

In large stores and supermarkets you will definitely not be deceived, and in small souvenir shops you can, just in case, count your purchase amount and the change received, although it is generally not common here to openly profit from tourists.

Therefore, in Mallorca, you should not beware of something serious, but nevertheless, basic simple safety rules should be followed.

Things to do

Mallorca has tons of entertainment, you can explore all the beaches of the island and go snorkeling, or you can immerse yourself in its cultural life and visit the most important museums, temples and other historical sights of the island.

You can also go to Cape Formentor, admire the wonderful landscapes and arrange a photo session there. Or travel to the eastern part of the island to meet local farm owners and taste their traditional food. Do not forget about shopping, you must definitely go to the center of leather goods - the city of Inca. There are a lot of options, choose what you like and enjoy your vacation!

Despite the fact that Mallorca is a rather small island, shopping here is a pleasure! And all because here you can find exclusive items that are produced only on the Balearic Islands!

Majorca - holidays with children

A vacation in Mallorca with children is a great idea, because here you can really enjoy the peace and quiet, and children will be impressed by the picturesque landscapes and encounters with wild animals that you can find in Natura Park, on the ostrich farm or in nature reserves. To travel with a child, you should pay attention to the southwestern, northern or eastern part of the island - in such places there are few noisy young people and parties, so here you can really relax and gain strength.

Ski vacation

Conditional areas. Descriptions and features

The island of Mallorca is divided into 7 main areas:

  • metropolitan,
  • central,
  • northwestern,
  • southern,
  • southwestern,
  • southeastern,
  • northeastern.

Metropolitan area

Located closer to the southwestern part of the island, it is here that the main attractions and the residence of the royal family are located. If you want to be in the center of all events, then it is worth settling here.

The city itself is quite noisy, crowds of tourists walk, it is very hot and stuffy during the day, so I recommend renting an apartment or staying in a hotel located a few kilometers from Palma. I lived in the vicinity of Cala Major Beach, a typical Spanish resort suburb with many hotels, cafes, shops, a large public beach and several museums. In general, an ideal place for those who like a measured, but not too boring vacation. Housing here will be more expensive than in other areas, since it is the capital, that is, the most important area of the island.

Southwest region

This area of the island is the most densely populated. Here are located such large cities as Illetas, Portals, Santa Ponsa, Paguera. It is best to come here with family and children, because in these places you can relax and enjoy the tranquility.

It is also here that the large golf club Bendinat is located, so the area is considered very prestigious and by no means cheap.

Northwest region

Along the coast, in the shade of trees, there are townhouses and villas, which, if desired, can be rented for the summer, and here you can also observe beautiful mountain landscapes. Isn't it a heavenly place?

Northern region

This area is famous for its unforgettable views and pristine beaches. It is here that the highest point of the island is located - Cape Formentor, from which a magnificent view of the sea opens. Housing in this place will be quite expensive due to the extraordinary beauty of nature and due to the proximity to "star" villas.

Major cities of the area: Alcudia and Poyensa. Near Poyensa is the port from where you can sail around the island by yacht.

Northeast of the island

It is distinguished by its beauty and serenity. Having settled here, you will forget about all the problems and bustle of the city.

The area is full of traditional farmhouses and farms, as well as mingling with friendly locals, who may invite you to sample their garden-grown oranges or homemade ham (cured pork).

Southeast

In fact, it is very similar to the northeast, agriculture and sailing are also common here, so if you want to get to know the local life better and taste fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood, as well as immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the island, get acquainted with its cultural and historical component, then this is a great option!

Southern part of the island

But it is famous for its long beaches, sports bars and noisy discos. The largest resort town is Arenal. It is here that the largest water park on the island is located, an amazing aquarium with sharks and rays, and many more bars. The place is considered budgetary enough for recreation, so all young people live in this part, respectively, the prices for living here do not bite compared to costs in other areas.

If you like a bright, cheerful holiday, then you are here. And a little to the south is the longest beach of the island - Es Trenc. It is distinguished by its white sand and light blue sea.

central part

These are picturesque estates, almond orchards, pastures and olive fields. Another great place to relax in peace, while being only half an hour from Palma.

Here is the large city of Inca, which is famous throughout the world for the production of high-quality leather goods, as well as the city of Sineu, which is definitely worth a visit to look at magnificent churches and the former royal palace, as well as the largest fair on the island on Wednesdays.

I usually look for hotels on Booking - and you can check if there is a more attractive price.

The offers for renting private apartments can be found here.

How to get around the island

You can move around the city and around the island itself in different ways.

The most interesting one is on the historical electric train of the island. It starts from Palma de Mallorca train station (Carrer Eusebi Estada, 1), travels along the island, winding between mountains and plains, and stops at Sawyer train station.

In addition, there are high-speed trains on the island that run on several routes:

  • Palma-Inca-Sa Sobla;
  • Palma-Manacor.

The train starts from the underground station in Plaza de España in Palma. A ticket for it can be purchased from the conductor or at the box office of the city.

And it is certainly possible to rent a car.

Taxi. What features are there

And another comfortable option for getting around Mallorca is by taxi. The average cost of the trip is 20 €. List of popular taxi companies on the island:

  • IB Taxi;
  • Mallorcataxitransfer;
  • Mallorca Taxi Car;
  • Taxi PMI;
  • Majorcabdriver;
  • Fono-Taxi.

Public transport

The most convenient way to get around Mallorca is by bus. If you are planning to travel around Palma and its surroundings, you can purchase a 10-ride pass for 10 €, which is very beneficial, since a ticket for 1 trip costs 1.5 €.

Booking sites! Don't overpay. This !

Palma de Mallorca beaches

Of course, Palma de Mallorca is not only historical and architectural sights, but also a great beach holiday. The following is a description of the beaches of Palma.

It is one of the best beaches in the city and even in the world thanks to its clear water and golden sand. Picturesque, with a wide coastline and a gentle sunset, the beach is very good for children. The infrastructure is well developed here. There is a free city WI-FI. Alcudia Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag.

It is considered the best of the wild beaches of Palma. It is located between two rocky cliffs. The turquoise crystal waters of the sea and the white sand are ideal for a great holiday. Many interesting photos can be taken here.

- not a wide strip of white sand. The sea at Playa de Formentor is mostly calm and clear, making it suitable for families. The pine forest growing at the very shore saturates the air with a coniferous aroma and shades it.

- the most expensive beach in Palma. There is an atmosphere of harmony and complete pacification. At the height of the season, it is not completely filled with holidaymakers, partly because this resort has a very high status. Well-developed infrastructure, yacht club, bars and restaurants.

Small and clean beach located in the Mondrago National Park. It is considered to be one of the best beaches on the island. There is a bar nearby where you can order refreshing drinks.

In demand among nudists. It has a long coastline of white sand and clear water. Sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented.

Conveniently located between the resorts of southern Mallorca and the lively capital of the island - Palma. The close proximity to the highway makes this beach easily accessible, which is why locals come here to sunbathe from various parts of the island. The beach itself is clean, with infrastructure, however, with a lot of sunbathers. There is a nice restaurant on the beach.

Experienced tourists in Palma say that apart from the sights and beaches, here you can “shop” well, and that in small shops clothes will be cheaper than in shopping centers. At the same time, the quality of Spanish things is very high. They also write in the reviews that it is better to visit this piece of paradise in September.

Palma de Mallorca with its unique energy, excellent cuisine, amazing nature and centuries-old history will not leave anyone indifferent.

Useful maps and videos

Take a look interactive map sights of Palma de Mallorca in Russian:

Take a look video about Palma de Mallorca:

The son is growing, and we continue to travel together. Since we prefer to relax by the sea in early May and / or at the end of September, then the choice of places that meet the following conditions:
a. Europe
b. fly no more than 4 hours
c. the sea is warm enough to swim with a baby
d. the presence of interesting places in the neighborhood for the child and parents
not very large - Cyprus, Spain in the Valencia-Alicante region, Bolear Islands.
At first, they tried, as usual, to organize everything on their own, but after a series of reflections, they came to the conclusion to delegate the issue of organizing the rest to a travel agency.
There was a question with a direction:
- Cyprus, with all its advantages, has already become boring (we had a good rest last May and my wife and son overwintered there in the winter of 2011)
- Vacation options on the Costa Blanca were not very budgetary
As a result, they opted for Mallorca and the Iberostar Club Cala Barca hotel. Basically, the choice was made based on a large number of positive reviews on tripadviser.com and a relatively low price. The location of the hotel in a pine forest was also impressive. The tour operator was Natalie-Tours. The charter flight is operated by Transaero.

Road
Domodedovo airport, as always, pleased with the "thoughtfulness" of the disembarkation zone and the turmoil and confusion reigning there. After the terrorist attack, they began to inspect everyone entering the terminal building, in addition, dog handlers with dogs constantly walk around. At the entrance, there are guards the size of a good refrigerator and by all their appearance they show that they have everything under control.
At check-in, it turned out that it was not necessary to check in the stroller as baggage, as when flying to Rhodes by the same Transaero, which we were incredibly happy about. The flight, lasting almost 5 hours, passed quite quickly. Aircraft at Transaero, of course, are no longer new, and the degree of friendliness and correct communication of flight attendants leaves much to be desired. Still, despite all the comments and complaints about Aeroflot, they are still much better than S7 and Transaero.
The first thing that struck me in Mallorca was the size of the airport. In the arrivals hall, there are only baggage claim belts for 20 pieces (especially in contrast to DMO, where there are 4 or 5).
Since the hotel is on the outskirts and you need to get to civilization either by bus, or by taxi, or by a rented car, we decided to take the car right at the airport and not use the airport-hotel-airport transfers.
After studying the offers of rental offices, of which there are a million in Mallorca, the choice was stopped at recordgo.com (their contacts in the photo:)

We booked a Renault Scenic online for all 15 days. In fact, Scenic was not there, and a choice of new diesel Peugeout Partner or Ford C-Max with a range of 7000 km was offered, naturally, the choice fell on Ford. It also turned out on the spot that when renting for more than 4 days, you need to buy a tank of fuel from the office (that is, you get a car with a full tank, but you can and should take it empty, as the money will not be returned). The overpayment was not particularly large, and this condition was, it turns out, written in small print in the booking confirmation, so I was not particularly upset. In total, 350 Euros were paid for 15 days (car + gas tank + child seat). All rental cars in Europe are insured, and in case of problems, you only get a franchise, which for this class of car in RecordGo is 300 Euros. Additional insurance was offered in order to exclude the deductible and cover the headlights / windows / underbody and other. But, in view of the fact that its cost is about 10 Euros per day, I did not see any reason to buy it.
Having accepted the car and installed an extremely cheap type of child seat (for some reason I have never met high-quality seats in the rental), we moved towards the hotel. The distance to the hotel from the airport is about 55-60 km, a third of this distance is the motorway. The rest is a two-lane road of excellent quality. At the end of the route, the navigator decided to take a shortcut and led us into narrow local paths, the width of which does not allow two cars to pass in most places. There are a lot of such roads on the island and they are extremely picturesque.

It took about an hour to get to the hotel.

Hotel.
We registered, met with the deputy. the manager of the Bulgarian Ignat Ignatov is an extremely friendly and helpful comrade. There are three Russian girls at the reception, one of whom is always on the shift. In addition, the hotel always has a Natalie-Tours guide - she can be found either at the reception or in one of the "Russian" buildings.
We got the key and showed us the direction to go. The hotel is a large number of buildings located along the road. Tourists are accommodated based on nationality and depending on the operator. Russian buildings are located 500 meters from restaurants, swimming pools, reception and other entertainment. On the one hand, such a distance for someone may be a minus, but, on the other hand, the Russian reservation has its own swimming pool, its own children's animation, a snack bar, and it is much quieter and quieter there than in the main buildings in which Europeans are settled (perhaps because the occupancy rate of buildings was 15%)
Renovation in the rooms of "Russian" buildings does not last for 4 *, as the hotel positions itself, they look poor. But neat, because they are cleaned every day. The room has a refrigerator and stove, but no dishes.
Half-board and All-Incl options are available with hotel meals. The overwhelming majority of Europeans and our compatriots choose the latter option. We went on a half-board as we didn’t plan on staying at the hotel in the afternoon for lunch. In case you booked a ticket with half board and then change your mind, you can pay an extra € 18 per person per day at the hotel and wear an All Inclusive bracelet so that you can drink and eat without limit.
Despite the beginning of the season, the European part of the hotel was packed with vacationers by 80-90 percent, nevertheless, some kind of inconvenience can be felt only in the restaurant, when you can not find a free table in a hall that can accommodate 700 people.
The hotel is an ad for childfree, since 80% of vacationers rest there with children, most with two or three.
The hotel has a large playground, animation in different languages (including animators Natalie Tours), there are children's clubs for the little ones and for older children, slot machines and children's attractions. Every evening for children, a mini-disco with clowns for children. A 5-minute walk from the hotel is a ranch where you can rent a pony, ride a cart or just go horse riding.
The food is varied, but like any buffet, it gets boring pretty quickly. Lots of fruits and desserts. Unfortunately, there is no special food for children, according to observation, Europeans do not take a steam bath and immediately after bottles with the mixture switch to French fries and phantom. For breakfast, our children ate the porridge they brought with them, for dinner they were fed the most neutral dishes available to choose from.
The hotel is located in the Mondrago National Park and the grounds are very beautiful.

Reception:

Main square, restaurant and swimming pools:

Natalie Tours buildings:

Territory:

Of the entertainment available to adults:
tennis courts (free, but by appointment. Rackets are rented for some ridiculous money)
ping-pong tables,
swimming pool 25 meters in which you can try to swim normally, in the morning or in the evening (in the afternoon swimming there resembles a slalom)
several meandering pools for a relaxing swim,
rental of all types of bicycles (hardtail, full suspension, road bike - from 18 Euro per day, you can take a child seat - 3 Euro per day),
there is a dive center, it seems, even issuing PADI certificates,
at the ranch you can take riding lessons for good money or just ride a horse,
gym,
SPA center with humane prices, but not a very wide variety of programs,
Cycling, water aerobics and so on and so on to drive away the consequences of all-inclusive.

There is a small supermarket, shops with small things and souvenirs.
If you are traveling with children for two weeks, then, most likely, washing cannot be avoided - the issue is resolved for a sane 3 euros per wash, for which you need to buy a token in the supermarket to turn on the washing machine. There are mini-laundries near the main building and near the Russian part.

In case you still want to leave to see the surroundings, then you can do this either by bus at the following rates:

Either by taxi or by renting a car. The rental in the hotel offers new Citroen C4 at 40-45 euros per day.
Everything is not very good with the beach at the hotel. There are a lot of people, and the beach is small and not equipped (but clean, except for the algae). Therefore, it is better to go to the beaches located 10 minutes walk through the forest. The path is good, but it's difficult to walk with a stroller. Alternatively, you can take a bus for an amount of about 1.5 Euros. On the beach there is a sun lounger rental, a cafe, a shower.

The beach closest to the hotel (but not on the territory anymore):

Beach 10 minutes from the hotel:

Nature
Of those islands where I was (Crete, Tenerife, Cyprus) Mallorca seemed the most green and pleasing to the eye. Pine trees, sea, rocks and white sand are a very beautiful combination. There are countless beaches, both comfortable and wild. There is a feeling that even at the peak of the season you can find a beach where no one else will be there. Then there are a lot of photos:

Entertainment for children.
On the territory of the hotel there is a children's animation (including in Russian). Equipped playground.
Near the hotel there is a ranch where you can rent a pony (something in the region of 5 euros for half an hour). You are given a reason and you walk on your own. A Belarusian works at the ranch, who will explain in his native language how to behave with a pony.

You can also ride a carriage with your child.

From places that seemed interesting for a 2-year-old child visited:

Marineland Park.
They give performances of seals, dolphins and parrots, in addition, there is a small zoo and a water park for children on the territory.

Zoo SafariZoo- a wonderful zoo and a kind of auto safari. It is a winding road three kilometers long, along which you drive your car and observe different animals that graze without enclosures. Deer, gazelles, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, monkeys and all of them can be seen from the car window. Monkeys behave especially arrogantly - when approaching their territory, two or three individuals jump on the car, sit on the mirrors and begin to beg for food. To tell the truth, he said goodbye to the 300 euro franchise for a broken mirror, since under a 15 kilogram carcass it began to crack threateningly and tilt in an unusual direction to the ground J. But, in general, the mirror remained intact, and the monkeys' claws did not leave scratches on auto. So, the entertainment can be considered relatively safe.
At the end of the safari part, you come to an ordinary zoo, where in the enclosures you can find lions, elephants, tigers, monkeys and other animals. There is a children's mini-zoo where you can go with children and see / touch goats, geese and similar domestic animals. Children can spend the rest of their energy on a couple of playgrounds. One of them has a somewhat unusual slide.

Aquarium in Palma
A very decent aquarium, it consists of an indoor and outdoor exposition, where there are several open ponds with fish and sharks, as well as an imitation of the jungle.

Fun for parents
Unfortunately, our child does not give the opportunity to travel far (his maximum in the car is 1 hour). Therefore, we drove along the southern coast.
Cala Figeira is a small town with a beautiful bay.

Cala "D" Or is a typical tourist town. With a standard set of entertainment in the form of a mass of small shops, cafes and bars. The beach is small and crowded. There is a surf station where you can rent a windsurf or take a course.

Colonia St jourdi- a resort town with an excellent beach. Another surf station.
The city administration is apparently very greedy, because it was not possible to find a place for free parking at all. Parking is either prohibited everywhere, or it is paid. Next to the parking meters, an aunt is on guard, immediately writing out a fine for expired parking tickets.

Porto colom- a large harbor and a lot of ships, it's nice to walk along the embankment.

Porto petro- the city itself drove by, nothing particularly noticed. Worth the trip for the Dragon Cave and Safari Zoo.

Dragon cave- a fairly well-known tourist attraction, but worth a visit - the interior of the cave and the scale of the halls are impressive. A classical music concert taking place on an underground lake and the final inspection is also quite possible.
Unfortunately, it is forbidden to take pictures inside, so there is no photo.

Santanyi- a cozy town. (The closest city to the hotel after Porto Petro) With good restaurants in the square.

Very beautiful city!

Harsh parking:

Of all the attractions, only Bellver Castle has been visited.

We wandered the streets, ate ice cream, played at the local playground.
One of the directions of street art is blowing bubbles. With the help of simple devices, bubble blowers entertain children and earn a euro or two. Their bubbles are just gigantic.

From a shopping point of view, the Porto Pi shopping center at the end of the port, at the exit to the highway towards Antratx, can be advised. In principle, the set of stores does not differ much from the Moscow ones, but Spanish clothing brands are 40 percent cheaper. There are many attractions for children in the center, so stock up on euro coins.
Outlet Festival Park is also advertised. We did not find anything interesting, prices are higher than in the city, there are few shops, the only plus is that it works on Sunday, which is extremely rare in Spain, where shops on Sunday look like this:

Sollier
The only city on the north coast where they could get was Sollier. Traveling on an old (1929) train in good weather, judging by the reports, looks much nicer. But since we didn't have to choose (the weather was cloudy for the entire second half of our stay on the island), we drove in the rain. Unfortunately, we did not manage to get any vivid impressions. Sollier is a pretty town, but nothing more.

Grill Restaurant
We stopped at this restaurant on the recommendation of friends - a great place to relax after the beach, eat grilled meat, fish, seafood. There is a beautiful garden in the courtyard where you can take a walk while the owner prepares an order for you. The restaurant is located next to the nice Es Trenc beach. In general, I recommend:

Additional Information:
Parking in cities costs, on average, 1.8 euros per hour, in siesta (14.30-16.30) parking is most often free, there are many underground parking lots in Palma, with about the same tariff. If you are not too late for the paid time, you will be shoved a receipt under the janitor with a small fine (Euro 3-4), which can (and should) be paid at the same parking meter. In the PortoPi shopping center, parking is free for two hours, then about 2.4 euros.

Internet.
Internet can be caught in the form of WiFi in some cafes / restaurants, or you can buy a local SIM card in order to use decently working 3G from Vodafone. The pleasure will cost about 20 Euro per week (if you have your own modem. How much does Vodafone offer, unfortunately, not in the know)
http://www.vodafone.es/particulares/es/internet-y-tv/internet-movil/internet-movil-prepago/tarifas/

Products.
Food prices are about the same as in Moscow. Except for wine, cheese and jamon. All this costs a real penny with excellent quality. Spanish wines are sold for 3-4 euros per bottle, while 6-8 is considered very decent.

In general, Mallorca left the most pleasant impressions and a desire to return. What we will definitely do.

Majorca (Mallorca) located southeast of the coast of Spain, in the heart of the Balearic archipelago. It has a unique climate with moderately hot summers and mild warm winters, heavy rains in autumn and sunny weather during the rest of the year.

A fairly large part of Mallorca is occupied by mountains: in the center rise the Levante and Tramuntana massifs, between them the fertile Es Pla valley stretches. There are more than 40 natural protected areas on the island, including: protected groves and pine forests, mountain ranges and bizarre caves, sand dunes and swampy areas in which various birds live. The coast of the island is indented with bays and bays; spacious beaches stretch along the coastline. The Mediterranean waters around Mallorca are clean and clear.

Majorca landmarks

1. Cathedral of St. Mary in Palma (Catedral de Santa María de Palma de Mallorca)

The Cathedral of Saint Mary is located in the historic center of Palma de Mallorca. This is the main religious building of the Balearic Islands, which has the popular name "La Seu" (La Seu) which means "Bishopric". The construction of the cathedral began in 1229 on the site of the old mosque by order of King Jaime I, after he was caught in a storm and praying for the salvation of the Virgin Mary, vowed, in case of a successful outcome, to build a temple in her honor. The cathedral was built over three centuries and was consecrated in 1601. In the interior, the main altar of the Royal Chapel deserves attention, which is surrounded by four columns crowned with angels with musical instruments (15th century). At the beginning of the 20th century, a metal canopy by Gaudi was installed over the altar, and new stained glass windows were also made according to his sketches. The museum of the cathedral contains samples of jewelry art, medieval paintings and relics. In addition to divine services, it regularly hosts organ concerts. At the beginning of the 14th century, it served as a royal residence, over 700 years from the date of construction it changed a lot of owners and was used for various purposes. The castle is a remarkable example of military architecture of the Gothic style and is considered the only structure of this kind with a round shape located in Spain. The palace was built in 1281 and was intended to protect the city. Now the castle serves as the official summer residence of the Spanish royal family: half of the palace is its private property, while the other part houses the military services and the National Museum. The structure looks like a rectangle with high towers on the sides. One of these towers is called the "Angel Tower", on its top there is a sculpture of the Archangel Gabriel, one of the city's patrons. In the palace you can admire the royal chamber, the royal bedroom and a hall with furniture and paintings from different eras, as well as tapestries from the 16th and 18th centuries. 5. Valldemosa (Valldemossa)

A small port town, spread out in the center of a small valley, 17 km from Palma, with its narrow streets in flowers looks like an illustration to an old fairy tale. Traditionally, there are ceramic plaques on the doors of houses with the image of the patroness of the city - Saint Catalina Thomas. In the 13th century Carthusian monastery of Real Cartuja, the composer Chopin spent the winter together with the writer Georges Sand, who wrote the book Winter in Mallorca. It is worth visiting the former winter residence of the kings of Mallorca - the Palace of King Sancho (Palacio Rey Sancho) 14th century with its magnificent interiors, where the ticket price includes a 15-minute concert of Chopin's works (the concert starts strictly on time, and in case of delay, the concert hall is not allowed!). The town is famous for its family bakeries, where you can taste the traditional local dish "coca de patata" (potato pie). There is a beautiful garden next to the Chopin Festival Association and a bust of Chopin nearby. Tip: Be careful if the street is wet, as over time the paving stones have worn out and the stones become smooth, the streets can be slippery. There are two paid car parks in Valldemosa, and it is convenient to get around the city on foot. Not far from Valldemoza is the villa of the Hollywood actor Michael Douglas, who founded the Costa Nord cultural center here.

6. Soller

You can go to this town, famous for its oranges, by retro train from Palma, which follows for about an hour (27 km) through the picturesque mountains, orchards and almond groves. The steepest sections are overcome through underground tunnels, and there is a long stop at the observation deck, from which a beautiful view opens up. The design of the seats in the train is interesting: the backrest can be rearranged so that the passengers can sit in the direction of travel, facing in whatever direction the train moves. Schedule and cost of travel can be specified. On the market square of Soller, you can look into the “Fet a Soller” shop for traditional Majorcan products. Opposite the shop, there is a small natural ice cream factory “Sa Fabrica de Gelats”, which has won several international quality awards, where it is worth trying the local orange sorbet made from selected fruits. From the same train station in the center of Soller, where the retro train arrives, an old tram runs to the sea to the port, following almost right next to the orange orchards. Advice: It is better to take train and tram tickets at the same time at the train station in Palma, while round-trip is cheaper, children have a 50% discount, the time is open. From the port of Soller by boat you can go to the beautiful bay of Sa Calobra (Cala de Sa Colobra) so don't forget to bring your swimwear.

7. Alfabia Gardens (Jardins d "Alfabia)

Alfabia Gardens are on the way to Sawyer, near the village of Bunyola. This is one of the few private properties in Mallorca open to visitors. The garden and park complex with an area of 120 hectares and a house of architecture from the 14th century are an excellent example of an old estate that combines fragments of Arab and European styles. The refined atmosphere of the house: paintings, prints and tapestries from the 16th century, immerse in the atmosphere of an aristocratic estate. Thanks to natural springs, the gardens are full of ornamental plants, as well as orange and lemon trees, which form shady alleys that are comfortable for walking. Fountains and artificial waterfalls saturate the air with freshness and soothe with a pleasant murmur. The gardens are divided into two levels and from the observation decks of the upper alleys offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains, olive groves and the lower garden that surrounds the estate. In the lower gardens, you can relax by the charming swan pond, or have a snack in the cozy cafeteria serving refreshing juices from the fruits that have been picked on the spot. 8. Luke Monastery (Lluc)

This monastery located in the north of Mallorca, in the Sierra Tramuntana mountains (Sierra de Tramuntana), is a sacred place: there is a statuette of the patroness of Mallorca - the Holy Virgin Mary Luc, to worship which people come here from all over the island. According to legend, a Moorish shepherd found a black statuette of the Holy Virgin Mary next to a stream. On the same day, she was transferred to the church and the population of the town came to bow to her, but the statuette disappeared. She was found next to a stream, where she was first discovered. This was repeated twice, so it was decided to build a church on this site. On the territory of the monastery there is a botanical garden and a museum. There are hiking trails around the monastery, and there is a recreation area for picnics. Twice a day, the church hosts a service accompanied by the singing of the children's choir Els Blauets, named after the blue robes worn by the choir. The children's choir has existed at the monastery since the 14th century. On the first weekend of October, the monastery hosts the annual Feria de la Sierra de Tramuntana & Agroalimentaria Festival. Every year on the first weekend of August, at 23:00, a pilgrimage to the monastery begins from Palma from Place Guell. It is believed that whoever walks this path will be forgiven for all the sins that he has committed during the year. The address: Plaza Peregrins, 1, Lluc, Illes Balears (parking near the monastery is paid). Official site: www.lluc.net

There are hiking and cycling hiking trails here (the park is closed for cars), you can also take a walk along the lake, which is connected to the sea by a wide canal. There are signs and an information center at the entrance to the park. Advice: When planning a visit to the park, it is worth bringing food and drink, sunscreen and repellents.Visit the park is free. 10. Cape Formentor (Faro de Formentor)

Formentor is a picturesque peninsula where natural contrasts are truly impressive. Driving along the mountain highway, you can stop at the viewing platforms and take impressive photos of the panorama of the mountain ranges, sea expanses and the small rocky islet of Kolomer. It is worth stopping by and walking through the small cozy town of Pollença (Pollenca). O Founded by the Romans, it has perfectly preserved its ancient appearance, and the wild beauty of its surroundings turned it into a favorite place for artists, artists, writers from all over the world. Directly from the center of the town, 365 steps run up to the top of the Calvarius hill, to a small chapel, which is a holy place for the locals. The narrow streets will lead you to the Rooster's Spring (the rooster is the symbol of Pollenza), to the Church of the Virgin Mary and the 14th century monastery of Santo Domingo. Further along a narrow mountain serpentine we go to the "end of the earth", to the very north, to Cape Formentor, from which fascinating views open up. Going down from the other side you find yourself on the truly royal (albeit municipal) Formentor beach (Formentor Playa), marked with a blue flag, with white sand, clear azure sea and spreading pine trees hanging over the water. Near the beach is the legendary Formentor Hotel, built in 1928, where world celebrities, Hollywood actors, presidents and kings have stayed for many years.

11.Capdepera Castle (Castle of Capdepera

Capdepera Castle - castle in the municipality of Capdepera, Mallorca, Spain. It stands on a mountain in the northeast of the island, 2.5 km from the coast of the strait that separates Mallorca and Menorca. Built in the XIV century.

In ancient times, the area belonged to local residents who settled on the mountain slopes in this area. In the 10th century, the Moors built fortifications here, of which only the lower part of the tower has survived. In 1229, the fortifications were seized by the king of Aragon Jaime I. In 1231, the Capdepera agreement was signed in the tower, according to which Menorca fell into the possession of Jaime I. In 1300 Jaime II built a fortress here, inside which he founded a settlement. At first, 50 buildings for various purposes and 200 residents were planned. Therefore, Capdepera is more a fortified village than a castle.

Walls and gates were built in 1342. The towers were completed in 1386. In the 16th-17th centuries, pirates regularly attacked the island. This period saw the heyday of the settlement. At the end of the 17th century, the settlement expanded beyond the fortress, and in the 18th century, after the reorganization of the island's defense, the population moved to more adapted places. Only the garrison was left in the fortress.

The fortress is located on a mountain 130 m above sea level in the north-east of the island. From this point, several nearby bays and the strait between Mallorca and Menorca are visible.

12. Art's Caves (Cuevas de Arta)

located in the north-east of Mallorca, 11 km from the city of Arta near the town of Canyamel. These huge caves, whose vaults in places reach 40 meters in height, were discovered in the 16th century. Here is the world's largest stalagmite (22 meters). Especially for tourists, a network of paths and stairs has been created, which allows you to walk through the halls with interesting names: Paradise, Purgatory, Hell, Theater and Diamond Hall. At the end of the underground journey, an amazing light performance awaits everyone on the observation deck: for a few minutes, the hall is illuminated with bright colored light and chamber music is played. The address: Carretera de las Cuevas, Canyamel, Balearic Islands. GPS: N 39.656075 / E 3.450908. Mallorca beaches

Mallorca has a huge selection of great beaches, from quaint coves with only a few holidaymakers to large beaches in popular resorts. In the north of Mallorca there is a mountain range, which is more than 100 km long, so the water here is a little cooler compared to the southern part, the beaches are mostly long sandy, but there are also small bays that are great for snorkeling. In the south of Mallorca where the climate is hotter and drier, there are beautiful but more commercial beaches offering a range of different activities. On the east coast long beaches are separated by numerous cozy bays, very different from each other: there are both long sandy and small cozy ones, which do not have a large number of tourists. West of Mallorca is a mountainous area with tiny beaches hidden in coves, some of which can only be accessed by boat. The most popular is considered southwest coast with nearby Palma de Mallorca and modern highly developed infrastructure

Playa de Palma (Platja de Palma) - one of the largest beaches in Mallorca with a length of 4.6 km, located 10 kilometers east of Palma de Mallorca, between the resorts of Can Pastilla (C'an Pastilla) and El Arenal (S'Arenal). The main beach, up to 50 meters wide, has been awarded the "Blue Flag", has golden-white sand, clear sea and shallow waters suitable for families with children. The beach has a wide variety of water sports. There is a rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, toilets and showers, access for the disabled and a lifeguard on duty. Behind the beach there is a pedestrian promenade with various bars, cafes, restaurants and a bike path. You can park your car for free on the streets behind the beach. It can be reached by various buses that regularly run from Palma and the airport.

Cala Estancia(Cala Estancia) Can Pastilla resort (C'an Pastilla) officially part of Playa de Palma, however it is actually a separate beach located just a few steps from the main beach. The beach is quite small, 200 meters long and 35 meters wide with soft white sand. The artificial breakwaters built around this beach create a small cove that provides a calm sea. On the beach you can rent umbrellas and sun loungers, there is a lifeguard booth. Also, the beach is equipped with devices for easy access for disabled people. It is worth noting that the beach is located at the end of the airport runway, so if you are sensitive to noise, then you should choose another beach for relaxation!

Alcudia (Platja de Alcudia) marked by the Blue Flag, stretching from Porta de Alcudia along the "golden mile" of the best hotels on the coastline. The beach is especially popular with vacationers with children who can play in the safe shallow waters. With a beach length of 3.4 km, its width reaches 80 meters, which is not typical for Mallorca. The back of the beach is equipped with wooden walkways for easy wheelchair and disabled access. This beach does not have the best sand on the island, but there are various restaurants to choose from, you can leave your car in the free parking lot or on the road behind the beach. To the soft sand and quiet corners you need to go to the top of the bay towards Playa de Muro (Playa de Muro)... There is a municipal bus to the beach. Water sports are very popular here. Many boats offer half day cruises or full day dives. Lifeguards are on duty at the beach during high season. Pets are not allowed. There are many toilets and showers.

Muro beach (Playa de Muro) - a quiet 6 km long beach with a width of about 25 meters. The sand is shallow and soft with a smooth entrance into shallow water, safe for children. Compared to the beach in Alcudia, it is windy here. In the west (closer to Alcudia), the beach is well equipped, there are bars and restaurants, showers, toilets, sun lounger and umbrella rental, access for the disabled, lifeguards are on duty. The beach stretches east to the S'Albufera Natural Park, the places become wilder without buildings, and are called Es To (Es Comu) ... This is a virgin-clean territory of 1.5 km with sand dunes, pines and juniper bushes in the depths. Access here is somewhat more difficult, it is best to drive up from the Casetes des Capellans, which is 1 km from Can Picafort ( Can Picafort) or from the side of Es Brac (25 km along the Ma-12 along Arenes street). There is parking on both sides. From the side of Picafort, there are more holidaymakers on the beach and it is known as Es Capellans (Es Capellans) , popular for sailing as well as water sports. The wooden pier in the western part of the beach acts as a marina for yachts and boats, there is a rental service.

Es Trenc (Es Trenc) - not related to any resort, rather isolated, for its 2 km of golden sand and crystal-clear waters received the title of Caribbean in Mallorca. Thanks to its shallow water, it is well suited for children. The beach is 20 meters wide, so it can be crowded here in high season. There is a rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, toilets, ramps for the disabled, restaurants, lifeguards are on duty. Es Trenc has long been an unofficial nudist beach since the puritanical Franco era. For all its faults, it is very calm and non-commercial compared to many of Majorca's beaches. Behind the beach are sand dunes and wetlands that are home to migratory birds and marine plants. You can get here by car or bus. You can drive up from the Ses Covettes side and through the salt marshes in the south. Parking is cheaper at Ses Covettes. Es Trenk restaurant offers parking for 10EUR, which is later deducted from the cost of lunch (given the high cost and not too high quality of food, we do not recommend it). The beach is perfect for fans of windsurfing and the beauty of the wild, but you will have to look for a quiet place. Here you can stay in the resort of Colonia St. Jordi (Colonia St Jordi) or in a village house at a very good price in the Campos area (Сampos).
