There are countless ski resorts in Italy. The entire “lapel” of the Italian “boot” is strewn with them, because that’s where they are located. In December they open the “gates” for ski lovers. And until April, many tourists enjoy the magic of the snowy mountains. But where exactly to go skiing in Italy? Which region do you prefer? In order not to get lost in this diversity, IGotoWorld has prepared a selection of popular Italian resorts. Among them there are those that are tough for beginners, and peaks from which it is an honor for professionals to descend.
Ski resorts for beginners
What can we say, for those new to ski holiday- Italy is paradise. There is plenty to choose from. In addition to groomed and easy trails, the resorts offer professional schools and incredible views, as well as a variety of activities if you want to take a break from skiing and snowboarding.
Livigno
Livigno is a fairly young and dynamic resort, which is located near the Swiss border. It is considered one of the highest. Connoisseurs of freestyle and snowboarding come here from all over Europe: the local slopes seem to be created for these sports. And if you get tired of skiing, Bormeo with its thermal waters is nearby.
The abundance of gentle slopes marked in blue, as well as the snow cover that lasts here from November to May, attracts beginners to ski holidays. For them, the ideal resort location will be the Corosello peak, to which rope tows lead.

How to get there: to Milan, Innsbruck, Bergamo, Zurich or Verona by plane. From there, Livigno Express buses run to the resort during high season.
Bormio
Bormio is an amazing ski resort, where in addition to snow you will find healing benefits. Just imagine: you are enjoying the view of snow-capped peaks while swimming in warm thermal waters. This beautiful place located right in the heart of the Alps, at the confluence of three borders: Italy, Austria and Switzerland. Today Bormio has become one of the most prestigious ski resorts in Europe. International competitions take place here, there is all the necessary infrastructure, and the town is decorated with historical buildings.

Families with children enjoy holidays in Bormio. There is even a special escalator lift for the youngest skiers. There are many trails for adult and beginner ski enthusiasts. Shopping is one of the favorite activities of tourists. Along Roma Street you will find many interesting shops. And, of course, the thermal baths. How to get there: The nearest airports are Milan and Bergamo. From Milan you can take the train to Tirano. From Bergamo take the train to Lecco, then change trains to Tirano. From there to the resort it is about half an hour by bus.

Val di Fassa
This resort is especially popular due to its excellent infrastructure, convenient location and very reasonable prices. A winter dream in the Dolomites, which are characterized by amazing nature. Skiers of all levels will appreciate the local slopes. A special atmosphere is created by the local population - Ladins. They speak an ancient dialect and always welcome guests very warmly. There is also the opportunity to go dog sledding, try delicious schnitzel and hot wine.

La Thuile
Like Courmayeur, the ski resort of La Thuile is located at the junction of the Alpine regions of three countries - Italy, Switzerland and France. It borders on the French resort of La Rosiere, so you can ski with a single ski pass. This place will become your favorite if you prefer peace and tranquility among mountain nature. No glamorous parties or noisy evenings, only gourmet restaurants. Simply an ideal resort for tourists with children. There are good snow parks.

How to get there: The nearest airports are in Turin and Geneva. By train to Pré-Saint-Didier, where there is a regular bus service to La Thuile. You can also travel by bus from Milan, Turin, Chamonix, Courmayeur and other cities in the Aosta Valley.
