How to get from Talagi airport to the center of Arkhangelsk
By bus
This option is the most popular and affordable. When you leave the Talagi airport terminal, you will see a bus stop with a timetable. The only route that goes towards the city is number 12. This bus runs between the airport and the city approximately every thirty minutes. The ticket price is a little more than twenty rubles. After a 25-30 minute drive, you will have to get off at the Drama Theater stop. The only and, perhaps, the most significant drawback of this method of movement is the stuffiness in the bus interior in the summer, and the cold in the winter. The bus service begins at 6:30 am, with the last transport leaving at 8:00 pm daily.
By taxi
You can also get to the center of Arkhangelsk by taxi. Here I would like to immediately talk about one feature. On the adjacent territory of Talagi airport there are often taxi drivers operating without official registration of their activities. They are the ones who rip off exorbitant amounts of money from tourists and often deceive them. To avoid this, you need to book a local official taxi in advance. The air complex carries out air transportation of passengers, mail and cargo on regular and non-scheduled charter flights on international, federal and local air routes.
Geographically and functionally, the airport terminal is divided into 2 sectors:

From the history
In 1942, a military airfield was built in the Solombala volost. It was originally called Talagi after two farms and a small village located nearby. The runway surface was made of wooden gratings filled with gravel.
It began to be used as a civilian airfield in 1963, flights were carried out by Li-2, Il-14 and Il-18, An-24 and Yak-40 aircraft. At the same time, the 518th Berlin Order of Suvorov III Class Fighter Aviation Regiment, which was part of the 10th Separate Air Defense Army, was stationed here.
In 1966, the 518th Aviation Regiment was the first among the air defense forces to receive Tu-128 aircraft, and in the 1980s it received the MiG-31.
In 1998, the 518th Aviation Regiment was disbanded and in memory of it, a MiG-31 was parked in Talazhsky Aviagorodok.
From 1998 to the present, the 89th separate air unit of the 21st Air Defense Corps, consisting of 2 Mi-8MTV-1 and 2 An-26, has been based at the airfield.
On August 24, 2011, the reconstruction of the airport terminal began, during which two galleries and 2 telescopic bridges were built, along which passengers can board the plane, bypassing the street. The Arkhangelsk air terminal became the first among the regions of the European North - Vologda, Murmansk and Syktyvkar, where telescopic bridges were installed.
Currently, construction of a new terminal and reconstruction of the runway, parking lots and drainage system of the airfield are underway. The reconstruction of the air complex is planned to be completed by 2015. Such large-scale work has not been carried out for 50 years - since the founding of the Arkhangelsk airfield in 1963. Externally, the reconstructed airport terminal will resemble the Northern Lights.

According to the current classification, Arkhangelsk airfield belongs to class 1 under the ICAO category and is capable of receiving An-12 and Il-76, Tu-154 and Tu-204, Yak-42 and MD-87, SAAB-2000 and Boeing-737, Il- 18 and other types of aircraft, as well as helicopters of all types and business aircraft. In 2009, the airfield received permission to receive Airbus-A319 and Airbus-A320.
Currently, the Arkhangelsk "Talagi" airport is connected by direct air traffic with the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Murmansk and Sochi, Anapa and Naryan-Mar, as well as the Solovetsky Islands and other cities of Russia. International flights are organized to Helsinki and Antalya, Barcelona and Heraklion, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, Monastir - Tunisia and Paphos Cyprus, Tromso - Norway, Antalya and other cities abroad. To service air cargo transportation, Arkhangelsk International Airport has a cargo complex with a capacity of 70 tons per day.
Talagi Airport is a large airport with international status and is located in the north of Russia near Arkhangelsk. It was founded back in the 60s of the 20th century.
Historical reference
Talagi Airport was named after the settlement of the same name in which it is located. The history of its foundation is directly related to the development of northern aviation.
The airport was built in the winter of 1963 by military builders who laid an artificial concrete runway here. The first aircraft received was the domestic Il-18 aircraft, which landed here on February 5. The plane carried out a technical flight from Moscow to Arkhangelsk. This date is considered the birthday of the airport. From Talagi, planes begin to fly daily to Leningrad and Moscow. In November 1964, the air terminal complex began operating. In 1966, servicing of An-24 aircraft began. By 1974, the aircraft fleet was replenished with Yak-40 and Tu-134 aircraft and Mi-6 and Mi-8 helicopters.
In 1973, a civil aviation department was created at the airport. The geography of the routes included more than 60 settlements of the USSR and allied states. In 1978, passenger traffic amounted to more than 1.5 million people. In 1991, the Arkhangelsk air squad operated almost all types of aircraft and helicopters, with the exception of IL-86 and IL-62. In 1991, Talagi Airport became an independent organization.
Since 1998, air unit No. 89 of Air Defense Corps No. 21 has been based here. It consists of Mi-8, MTV-1 and An-26 aircraft.
In 2009, Talagi received permission to service modern and A-319 aircraft.
Development of the air hub at the present stage
At the end of August 2011, planned work began on the reconstruction of the airport complex. Two pedestrian galleries and two boarding bridges were put into operation already in 2015. Thanks to this, passengers began boarding without leaving the platform. Baggage reclaim will now take place on the ground floor of the airport terminal. Other Russian airports located in the North do not have jet bridges, unlike Talagi. Funds for reconstruction were allocated by the airport management. In the fall of 2015, construction began on a new terminal complex, the area of which will be more than 2000 m2. After the construction of the terminal, the airfield complex will be reconstructed. The drainage system will be improved. Similar work has not been carried out here for more than half a century.

Talagi Airport: how to get there
Public transport to the airport runs from Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk.
Buses No. 12 depart from the Marine Station in Arkhangelsk and run at intervals of approximately 20 minutes. You can also travel along the route “Talagi - Arkhangelsk” by minibus No. 32, which departs from the railway station. The total travel time is half an hour.
From Severodvinsk, buses No. 153 to Talagi airport depart from the country bus stop located at st. Karl Marx 19. They depart 6 times a day - at 4-30, 6-00, 9-05, 11-00, 14-00 and 20-00.
