We had been going to the Dominican Republic for a long time, only the long flight was embarrassing, and finally we decided. We chose the Gran Bahia Princip for relaxation - the hotel turned out to be heavenly. The territory is huge, we didn’t have time to get around everything. Several swimming pools, a water park for children, mini golf, a mini club, a gym - the richest infrastructure! Even in the hotel lobby there was decent free internet, though only for one hour from one device - enough for correspondence with relatives. Meals at the hotel - a buffet, and the variety of dishes really rolled over. Meat, seafood, vegetables and fruits on the menu were full of abundance. I especially liked the Dominican ice cream, some of it is especially tasty! At lunch and dinner, drinks are served by the waiters, and they worked very quickly and accurately. There was a themed dinner every evening, plus 6 different restaurants on site (visiting them by appointment) - we liked Japanese and Mexican. And there were bars and eateries by the pools and on the beach - in general, it is impossible to stay hungry in the hotel! The coast and ocean are amazing. The sand on the beach is powdered sugar, walking is a pleasure! Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, and you can also take kayaks for an hour, of course, if the weather is normal. We were not very lucky with the weather. In the beginning, everything was super, no waves, no algae - the water surface was like glass, and in the end it was impossible to enter the water, only the marine flora near the buoys did not interfere with swimming. But it didn't spoil the holiday. The Dominican Republic impressed us with its beauty and hospitality.

We stayed here with our daughter for 10 days. We stopped in after lunch, literally in ten minutes everything was issued, they gave an envelope with a password from the Internet and settled. The apartments are spacious, there is where to roam. Towels and bath accessories were provided for everyone. In general, the service is top notch. Cleaning in the room is of high quality, daily. At the same time, when they hung a sign asking for cleaning, they cleaned it more carefully. A chic huge outdoor pool for adults and separately for small ones. Recreational activities are also held here. My wife and daughter went to aqua aerobics and something else. Many electric vehicles go to the sea, their a large number of, so there is no push. The sea itself is, of course, very beautiful. White sand, when there were no algae - crystal water, just a feast for the eyes. When there were a lot of algae, they walked along the coast in search of a place where there were fewer of them. This is perhaps the only negative. The restaurant pleased. Always delicious, dishes change, service is unobtrusive, but impeccable. I just want to say "thank you" for a wonderful stay.

As for me, the hotel is wonderful! Beautiful landscaped area, which is nice to walk around. A fairly large hotel room, where it is pleasant to return after the beach in the heat. Just a feast of the stomach, not restaurants! We tried European cuisine, Mexican and Japanese. I liked absolutely everything! The cocktails are also worth noting, they are really good. The hotel staff know their business and do it perfectly. Very cool animation program. Gorgeous pool, we escaped from the algae in the sea. The weather, by the way, did not disappoint - the average temperature for the rest was about 30 degrees, but it did not soar, although there is decent humidity. But this is so, by the way. And the hotel itself and its staff were remembered only by positive aspects.

We went to the Dominican Republic for the first time, before that we were in Turkey and Greece, so there is something to compare with. We chose the Gran Bahia Punta Cana hotel complex because of the reasonable price. Unrealistically cool rest! The territory is huge, a lot of two- and three-story buildings, these are all the hotels of this complex. There is large swimming pool for adults and children, and one closed type. In the main pool, even bars are made, to which you can swim and sit on an underwater chair! Electric steam locomotives run throughout the territory, we used them to get to the beach when it was too lazy to stomp on foot. Very clean everywhere, greenery, palm trees, just a fairy tale! There was a storm of emotions when they began to distinguish parrots on the branches))) We have never had this before! The room was spacious, comfortable. They give out bathrobes, slippers, constantly replenish personal care products. There is a hair dryer, iron and even an umbrella in case of rain, it was quite unexpected). Air conditioning, ceiling fan work properly, mini bar is included in all inclusive. Regarding the restaurant, I can say that we did not see any dissatisfied people. Buffet, just a cornucopia of food. For every taste and in any quantity. There are also themed restaurants on site, they go by appointment in advance. We found out about it too late and didn't manage to get in. But even this did not upset me much, because every day the menu in the main restaurant was different! Now about the sea. Very, very warm! We were lucky, all our stay the amount of algae was very small! Azure water, velvet sand, shade from palm trees... Mmmm... Well, to be specific - beach towels can be changed daily, there are a lot of sunbeds, the applied algae are constantly removed. The staff is very qualified, especially the chefs. They speak good English, some understand Russian. What can I say, my husband and I have only the most pleasant memories, I think this summer we will visit this wonderful country again!

The vacation turned out to be amazing - we spent two weeks in Gran Bahia, in Pnuta Cana. The hotel rooms can be summed up in three words – spaciousness, comfort and luxury. We lived in the 17th villa, the apartments are bright and well-groomed - the main thing is not worn furniture and snow-white linen. In the minibar, water, tea, coffee and beer were included in the price and replenished regularly. There were no complaints about cleaning either, the girls did a great job! The air conditioner and other equipment did not fail even once, only the key to the room was changed several times, it was demagnetized and did not work - this is the only thing that unbalances. The staff is very courteous - they came to help at any time of the day or night. The restaurants were served with lightning speed, and even if problems arose, all other employees did not remain outside observers. By the way, some of them speak excellent Russian, so there were no barriers to communication either. The hotel also had its own shopping area, the prices, of course, went off scale there, but we bought a few souvenirs. Another little tip, take dollars with you - the most popular and profitable currency in these places!

Minuses: Check-in to the selected room is not timely.Upon arrival, the staff settles in a worse room with a view of the construction site, it takes a long time to ask for relocation.

The hotel is excellent, but the ocean was not lucky.
The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana 5 * hotel, where we rested, is part of a chain of hotels that are located on one huge territory in Punta Cana.

1.Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana 5*
    2.Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro 5*
    3.Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa 5*
4.Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine (ex.Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green) 5*
    5.Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda 5*

Tourists from the first three hotels can safely move around each other's territories, but they can no longer enter the luxury hotels. Tourists from luxury options can enter all territories.
At the entrance to each territory there is a guard, and by the bracelets he looks to see if people are going there. We don’t stand with a wall and let one pass, but we look out of the corner of our eyes so as not to strain, this is important.

Each hotel is equipped with its own lobby, its own restaurant. Each has its own territory, very large and beautiful.
Open cars constantly ply, which carry people to the beach, to their villas, to the lobby and back. Transport is like an open steam locomotive, everything is very comfortable and with stops.

In luxury versions, the cars are smaller and personal, with a maximum of 4 seats.

    Food at the hotel.

Every day, the name of the cuisine is written on the restaurant, the dishes of which will prevail today. We got to the Mediterranean (sea), Italian, Dominican and Japanese cuisine. At the same time, every (!!) day there was pizza, and the opportunity to make tacos, and bananas in various forms, and pasta, and seafood.
Seafood has always been there, but the largest amount (seafood paella, hot mussels, various shells, fish, red, including squid) was at the bottom of the Mediterranean cuisine. On other days, there was always fish, paella and some shells, squid. For breakfast, red (slightly salted) fish was served every day. There were no pure shrimp (without sauce), but they will be mentioned later in the story about A la carte restaurants.

    Fruit!
Mango, papaya, melon, watermelon, pineapple, guava, bananas, passion fruit, tangerines - were every day. But the mango was usually laid out at the very beginning, and it left the very first. It was not always the mango that was reported, so it was lucky, mainly because it came at the beginning. There were other fruits less often, but I don’t remember all, unfortunately.

    The rest of the meals.
I can say that anyone can have a delicious meal in this hotel. Both those who are losing weight, and those who want to eat a lot and tasty (including junk food, like ribs), and those who come for fruit, meat or seafood will find something for themselves here.

Here are sample meals for different meals.

Breakfast: pancakes (3 types), pancakes, Belgian waffles (together with nuttella, honey, etc. to choose from), croissants, pastries, a lot of egg manipulation, "make your own sandwich" from sausage / ham / red fish / cheeses / salad pieces and in general anything and with any bread. Porridge came across, but it was spicy and too liquid. Next, fruits, yogurts, baked bananas, mashed potatoes and sooo many different options for the rest of the food. The only thing that was a little disappointing is that there is no person who makes smoothies. There were transparent "samovars" in which there was juice. But we did not fully understand whether it was freshly squeezed or not. Watermelon, melon, papaya seemed freshly squeezed, orange not. As a result, they drank water or coffee with milk more often. Also, of course, there is cocoa and tea, for every taste.

Lunch: fried cheese, baked tomatoes, various side dishes, various meats and fish (dorado, salmon, for example), pasta, a lot of salads of the "pick it yourself" type or eat it ready, soups (gazpacho, tomato, vegetable, chicken, mashed potatoes) , seafood. You could always get yourself a burger, hot dog. There were sausages, ribs, wings, a lot of vegetables in different forms, pizza (not dry, a lot of cheese and toppings, in general, constant hot, as they take apart and cook new ones). Delicious desserts, and cakes, and cakes, and cookies. There were also warm pies under the lid, sometimes marshmallows. Ice cream of several types with a lot of toppings to choose from.

Dinner: was very similar to lunch but with an emphasis on the cuisine, which is announced at the entrance on a particular day. On the day of Japanese cuisine, there were rolls (pink, blue, even yellow), fish, more rice dishes than usual. On the Italian day, there was everything from a bunch of types of cheese slices, prosciutto, pasta and pizza, to tomato soup with croutons. Coconuts were handed out for free on Dominican Day

The waiters always offer water, stronger drinks, all are polite, not arrogant.

    A la carte restaurants.
We were only two: Japanese and Mediterranean. The first had sushi, fish, banana desserts, tempura ice cream. Atmosphere is good but loud and boring menu. Impressed by the mediterranean restaurant. I don't know if they would have taken out the oysters if we had sat a little longer. But even without them, everything that was brought to us on the menu and everything that was in the buffet caused delight. Those same shrimp without sauce were also there. The photos will tell you everything.) Various cheeses, soups, cuts and desserts were also there.

At the end of the paragraphs about food, I would like to say that the buffet restaurant itself is very beautiful, everything is clean. It was even awkward to sit there in shorts or beach (clean, without sand) shoes. There were places for snacks - snack bars, but we never ate there. Around the pools drinks for every taste. You can come up to pour yourself, or ask to make a cocktail. Or just ask for water or juice. Everything that is not in bottles, but in ordinary (glass / plastic) glasses - is given free of charge. Mini-bar in the room in the fridge is free, replenished once a day.

Cleaning every day, everything is fine, towels are changed.

    The territory of the hotel.
Everything is grandiose, there is simply no other word for it. Palm tree to palm tree, flower to flower, there is no rubbish anywhere. Of the free entertainment: tennis (by appointment), children's water park, mini-golf, football field, basketball hoop. There is a rope park (we didn’t go, maybe it’s for money), many locations with swings for children. There is billiards, table football, table tennis - but it was for the money and was empty.
Many shops on site, not shops, namely "civilized". But the prices, you know)

    Ocean and lounge area.
The sun lounger area is divided into hotels (each hotel has a bracelet of its own color). The suites have nicer sunbeds, our hotel had blue standard sunbeds. Sometimes the workers watched who was lying where, came up and asked to go to their sunbeds. And sometimes not. There was no anger/pressure on the part of the hotel workers, but tourists were sometimes offended, saying that they got lost and did not understand where they lay down.
The ocean upset me the most.
Our trip started on the Caribbean coast and ended on the Atlantic. And now the whole ocean was in algae. We are not talking about two meters near the shore, we are talking about algae, which, instead of people and together with people, floated on the waves. To my surprise, there were always a lot of people in the ocean. And to my disappointment, there were just an incredible amount of people on the beach. It was uncomfortable, especially compared to the Caribbean side, where, having moved to the right or left along the coast, you simply found yourself almost alone, without people, and even in clear blue / blue water. In the photo I tried to capture all the "beauty" of the ocean with algae. The algae that lie on the shore are constantly removed, but for the overall picture, this does not really matter.

As for the weather, everything was great. It rained once, but it was just as hot and the rain was fine and five minutes long. It doesn't matter if there are clouds or no clouds - it was always warm, sometimes hot and very comfortable.

I can’t say anything about entertainment programs, I didn’t go to watch them.

In the end, I would like to say about the strangeness of the hotel. Check-in at 15.00. We arrived early and were offered to check in (at 11 am, immediately) for $40. But since the bracelets were put on right away, we decided that we could have lunch and swim anyway, so we refused, and the time until three flew by.
But there is a big BUT. Until you are settled in a room and a card is issued with an identifier + room number, Wi-Fi will NOT work on your devices. And yes, free wifi only in the hotel lobby. When renting a room, Wi-Fi is also immediately cut off. Uncomfortable, but tolerable for those who are not very dependent)

Mosquitoes were in the evening. But we did not see people bitten from head to toe or stained.

We had Honeymoon, and they gave us gifts, in the form of a handbag, thermal mugs with the hotel logo. Also, they decorated the doors with ribbon and balls, and the bed with petals. And they put champagne and chocolates in the room. It was nice)

The room has a free safe that fits a 15" laptop.

We didn’t go outside the hotel, we just left, and we didn’t see any shops nearby where you can buy fruit to go. They met already far from the hotel, where I would not recommend walking on my own (about 2 km from the hotel).

I recommend the hotel because of the food, area and entertainment. I don’t know how it is in other months, but in early November, the ocean can ruin your mood for a vacation, and for those who like to swim, the vacation itself. To the right and left of the hotel along the shore, there were algae and the crowd too.
