Airport "Vnukovo". The scheme of the airport and the location of the terminals. Vnukovo airport outside and inside - a detailed description and scheme of Vnukovo international departure terminal

In this section you'll find reviews from travelers who have been to the airport as well as our Vnukovo Airport Moscow Guide with information on Wi-Fi, cafes, amenities and services…. and yes, even the names of some hotels near the airport in case you decide that sleeping in the airport is not for you.

To help you plan your transfer time or overnight stay at the airport, we've put together a summary of the information we've gathered from travelers' reviews of their stay at international airport Vnukovo.

What to expect

  • It is the smallest of the three main airports in Moscow, and the third busiest in Russia.
  • This medium-sized airport is divided into two terminals. The main terminal - Terminal A - is used for domestic and international flights. Terminal D currently receives inbound flights, mainly from North Caucasus.
  • All major announcements (delays, landing, final calls, and so on) are announced in Russian and English. As elsewhere in Russia, only a few airport employees speak English. Expect language barriers.
  • Free WiFi is available. See Wi-Fi in the airport overview below.

Where to sleep

  • We have very few reviews from tourists who have spent the night here. If you are planning to spend the night at the airport, please have a contingency plan in place.
  • All benches in terminal A have armrests, so they are not comfortable for sleeping. But some very tired and desperate passengers push two benches together to create a makeshift bed.
  • Airport staff are generally tolerant of sleeping travelers – perhaps until the airport starts to get crowded.
  • Almost all the benches in the "ground" part of the terminals are metal, and those in the "air" zone are equipped with soft inserts.
  • Some people rent a movie at the cinema to relax in the cinema booth. See section Additional services in the overview of the airport below.
  • Vnukovo Airport does not have dedicated sleeping areas, but there is a dark windowless section in the international departures area between gates 28/28A and 29/29A.
  • For a calm and uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See section Hotels in the overview of the airport below.

Vnukovo Airport is the oldest in Moscow. It consists of three main terminals, which are designated by the letters A, B, D. When answering the question of how many terminals there are in Vnukovo, in addition to these three, it is also necessary to mention the government terminal (Vnukovo-2) and the complex for VIP clients (Vnukovo-3) . These buildings are located separately from the three main ones. But they are close. In addition, finding these complexes is quite simple, since there are special signs along the road from the terminals.

Terminal A is the largest. Approximately 80% of the total flow is served here. Previously, only domestic flights within the country were carried out here, but over the past 3 years, passengers of international flights have also been served here. Terminal B serves approximately 18% of the flow of passengers. Mainly served here charter flights various international destinations, as well as flights to Asia and budget flights. Terminal D was built back in the 80s. However, despite the fact that not so long ago it was reconstructed, now it practically does not serve passengers. It is used today exclusively for the arrival of domestic flights. It is worth noting that the layout of Vnukovo Airport is designed in such a way that you can only leave Terminal D through building B. All these buildings are located in one line.

The so-called special terminal, a separate Vnukovo-2 complex, is designed to serve government officials. It is located near the main three terminals, to the south. Another complex is located in the western part. This is the VIP-lounge of Vnukovo-3 airport. This building is reserved for business flights.

Terminal A

This complex consists of three floors, thanks to which it is possible to separate several flows of passengers who arrive here or depart at once. At level -1 there is a transition to the Aeroexpress station. There are also left-luggage offices, as well as numerous counters for self-registration of UTair.

Below is the arrivals area, where customs control is carried out and luggage is issued. There is a waiting room for those who meet passengers. You can buy souvenirs on this floor. There are cafes, receptions, ATMs and cash desks various airlines.
From the overpass you can get directly to the second floor of this terminal. You don't have to pay to enter the overpass. On the second floor, security control is carried out, oversized luggage is issued. There is an information desk and ticket offices of airlines. On the second floor there is a specially designated sterile area from which you can board. Also at this level there are cafes, shops with souvenirs and other goods, ATMs. There is a DVD cinema on the second floor.

To make it easier for passengers to navigate at this level of the terminal, the map of Vnukovo Airport will be very useful in this case. Briefly for better orientation:

  • In the departure area in the left corner there is a service desk for the disabled and a children's room.
  • Public toilets are located on the right side of the departure area.
  • There is a cafe in the right corner.
  • Boarding for "home" flights is located on the left side of the building.
  • Boarding for international flights is carried out on the right side of the terminal.

The third floor is for waiting for flights. There is a cafe here. Also on the third level is a business lounge. To get here, you need to go up to the top, that is, the 3rd floor, you do not need to go through passport and customs control.

Elevators, escalators, travelators operate here for the convenience of moving around the terminal. There are special lifts for the disabled and ramps. All floors have Wi-Fi.

Terminal B

This terminal handles most international charter flights as well as scheduled flights. In the future, it is planned to transfer all regular flights to the first terminal (A). Therefore, it is likely that in the near future Terminal B will serve only charter flights. This building has two floors.

On the ground floor you need to check in, check in your luggage. There is an arrivals hall, a cafe, ticket offices that sell not only air tickets, but also railway tickets. Also on the ground floor there are special desks with the help of which they book hotel rooms and order a taxi. There is also Wi-Fi here.
The second floor is used to carry out the procedure for controlling passengers and checking their hand luggage. This is where the boarding gates are located. On the floor above there is a hall for passengers who have bought business class tickets. In addition, there are special check-in counters for passengers who fly without luggage.

Terminal D

This terminal is no longer in use. There are no flights from here. The terminal does not have its own exit. The only thing it is still used for is arrival from the North Caucasus. This is due to the increased requirements of the special services. It is expected that this terminal will be completely closed soon. The building itself is scheduled to be demolished.

Passenger check-in at this terminal closes 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Check-in begins at least 2 hours before departure. This time is set individually for each airline. In order to save time, passengers are advised to check in online, as when only 40 minutes remain before departure, the counter staff will no longer be able to check in passengers. After registration, you need to go to the second floor to go through all the necessary clearance procedures (including customs control). Boarding ends twenty minutes before departure.

VIP room

This is a hall that is located separately from other terminals and serves passengers regardless of which terminal they fly from. In this complex, passengers are given the opportunity to check in for flights within the country and to other countries. It also carries out customs and passport control. But all this is available only for VIP passengers. There is a separate car park for passengers. Clients are given the opportunity to order a meeting room.

The services provided in the lounge are available only to those VIP passengers who have purchased a voucher at the box office (of any terminal) or have entered into a cooperation agreement (if the client is a legal entity). Bookings must be made at least one day before departure. Heroes of the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation and participants of the Great Patriotic War are served free of charge in this hall.

Vnukovo-2

This is a government terminal. Only government officials are served here. Moreover, we are talking about leaders and other representatives of the government of any state who arrive in the Russian Federation on official working visits at the invitation of the president or other representatives of the Russian government.

All Vnukovo terminals are equipped in such a way as to provide the maximum degree of comfort to passengers, as well as to minimize the time required for check-in and procedures such as customs and passport control, baggage handling, etc.

Note: if you need long-term parking, then you can save a lot by using the services. Their parking lots are located about 10 minutes from Moscow airports. Provided free airport shuttle and back, free baggage packing. Cost: when parking for more than 30 days - 200 rubles, with a club card - 225 rubles, common price- 250 rubles per day.

Terminal-A has several levels. The third ground level of the terminal is used for check-in of departing passengers; the upper level of the flyover is attached to it. The fourth ground level of the terminal is allocated for VIP passengers, where VIP lounges and meeting rooms are provided.

Vnukovo terminal - A, arrivals level.

The first and second ground levels of the terminal are dedicated to the arrivals area, while the second provides a transit office. The baggage claim area is located on the first floor.

Vnukovo terminal - A, Aeroexpress station.

The lower level (underground) is the exit to the Aeroexpress railway station. There are also left-luggage offices, operational check-in desks for passengers arriving from the Kievsky railway station to Vnukovo airport by Aeroexpress.

Special conditions in the new terminal-A are created for passengers with disabilities. In all halls, the “smooth floor” system is implemented to the maximum.

Terminal-A of Vnukovo airport divided into two zones - domestic and international flights. Thus, a passenger arriving at Vnukovo Airport on a foreign flight and transiting through the Russian Federation has the advantage of an intra-terminal short connection.

What to do if the flight is canceled

If the flight was canceled more than 24 hours before departure, then passengers are transferred to similar flights of the airline. The costs are borne by the carrier, the service is free for the passenger. If none of the options offered by the airline suits you, most airlines can issue a " forced return". After confirmation by the airline, the money will be returned to your account. Sometimes this may take several weeks.

How to check in at the airport

Online check-in is available on the websites of most airlines. Most often, it opens 23 hours before the start of the flight. You can go through it no later than 1 hour before the departure of the aircraft.

The weight limit for hand luggage can vary from 5 to 10 kg, and its size most often should not exceed the sum of three dimensions (length, width and height) from 115 to 203 cm (depending on the airline). A handbag is not considered hand luggage and is carried freely.

The bag that you take with you on the plane should not contain knives, scissors, medicines, aerosols, cosmetics. Alcohol from duty free shops can only be carried in sealed bags.

How to pay for luggage at the airport

If the baggage weight exceeds the norms established by the airline (most often - 20-23 kg), you need to pay for each kilogram of excess. In addition, many Russian and foreign airlines, as well as low-cost airlines, have tariffs that do not include free baggage allowance and must be paid separately as an additional service.

Baggage must be checked in at the airport at a separate drop-off check-in counter. If you are unable to print your boarding pass, you can get it at the regular check-in counter of the airline, and check in and check in your luggage there.
