Patrol boat (STK)- high-speed, small-sized class warship(combat boat), designed to perform such tasks as: guarding the state border, performing patrol (patrol) service in the coastal zone, artillery fire against enemy torpedo, patrol and artillery boats. They usually have artillery weapons.

In the Russian Federation, the following modern types of patrol boats can be distinguished:

Project 12200 border patrol boats

This is a series of patrol boats being built for the Coast Guard of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia. The boat is designed to intercept high-speed targets, protect the coastal zone, and ensure the safety of natural resources, protection of coastal communications, ships, artificial structures. In order to unify the Project 12200 boats, in the future they will replace the boats of all other projects of a similar class that are in service with the Armed Forces of the FSB of Russia. The Project 12200 Sobol patrol boat was developed at the St. Petersburg Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz". The lead patrol boat of Project 12200 (serial number 200) was built in 2006 at the Almaz SF and put into trial operation for a year by the Russian Coast Guard. Based on the results of its tests, it was decided to launch Sobol in a series of 30 units.

Project 10410 patrol boats

Project 10410 patrol boats "Svetlyak" (according to NATO classification Svetljak) are a series of Soviet and Russian border patrol boats (PSKR). Designed by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "TsMKB Almaz". Produced by Vostochnaya Verf OJSC (Vladivostok Shipyard, Plant No. 639), Yaroslavl Shipyard and St. Petersburg shipbuilding company Almaz. Optimal hull contours in combination with an automated diesel installation make it possible to obtain a simple and economical ship to operate, with a high full speed of over 30 knots and a long economic cruising range of 2,200 miles. The presence of highly effective artillery systems of 76.2 mm and 30 mm caliber in its arsenal gives it an advantage over ships of similar displacement armed with artillery systems from OTO Melara, Bofors and others. The boat is designed to serve in the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation, control the state border, respect by foreign courts of the country's economic zone, protect natural resources within this zone, protect coastal communications and artificial structures, protect ships from attacks by terrorist saboteurs, as well as repel an armed attack air and underwater enemy - submarines and swimmers.

Project 1400 patrol boats

Project 1400 / 1400M patrol boats of the "Grif" type (NATO classification: English Zhuk class) - patrol boats in service with the FSB Border Service Russian Federation, Ukrainian Navy and naval forces other countries. The design of patrol boats for the naval units of the border troops of the KGB of the USSR began in the mid-1960s. In 1967, at the Almaz Central Design Bureau, the team of chief designer V.M. Burlakov and the chief observer from the Navy, captain 2nd rank V.I. Litovsky, created Project 1400 under the code cipher “Grif”. Boats of this type were intended to protect the state maritime border in coastal areas, straits and open roadsteads of ports, in river and lake areas, as well as to provide maritime checkpoints. The boats also carried out search and rescue operations, were engaged in the maintenance of navigation aids, environmental control and pilotage service. The boat had dimensions that allowed it to be transported across railway. The main armament was a coaxial 2M-7 machine gun mount of 14.5 mm caliber, located in the rear. The twin-shaft power plant consisted of two V-shaped M-401A diesel engines with a power of 1000 hp. With. every. The body was designed riveted from aluminum alloy grade B48-4T1. The lead boat was built at the Almaz Production Association in 1968, and three more boats of the installation series were built there. Mass production for border guards was launched in 1969 at the Feodosia Production Association "More" (in total, about 30 boats were built there). Since 1974, export boats of Project 1400-E have been built, and since 1976, Projects 1400-M and 1400-ME. In total, from 1969 to 1991, about 300 boats were built at the Almaz Production Association, the More Production Association and the Batumi Shipyard. In Ukraine, their construction continued in the 1990s. There are also their upgrades: 1400-E, 1400-M, etc.

"Mongoose", patrol boat of project 12150

High-speed multi-purpose patrol boat for operations in the coastal zone

History of creation

The patrol boat "Mongoose" pr.12150 was designed by the Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz" (CMKB "Almaz", St. Petersburg) by order of the maritime security department of the Federal Border Service of Russia. The boat is produced by the Vympel Shipbuilding Plant OJSC (Vympel Shipyard, Rybinsk). Currently, the plant has the necessary capacities and technologies (2 conductor slipways) to produce at least 5 boats per year. If necessary, their production can be increased.

The boat pr.12150 "Mongoose" has no analogues in the world shipbuilding industry, and in terms of its main characteristics it is not inferior to foreign ones and surpasses the best domestic boats of this class.

Purpose

The patrol boat pr.12150 "Mongoose" is designed to carry out tasks of patrolling territorial waters and ensuring border control at the state border, performing customs service, protecting biological resources in coastal areas, conducting search and rescue operations, fighting smugglers and illegal drug trafficking.

Peculiarities

The hull of the boat is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy with external contours in the shape of a “deep V” m, in combination with a powerful propulsion system, it ensures movement at high speed (over 50 knots, about 100 km/h), good maneuverability and controllability. It is divided into 6 compartments by bulkheads and remains afloat if any of them is flooded. To protect the underwater part of the hull from corrosion, electrochemical protective protection is installed and painted with an anti-corrosion paint and varnish coating (primer and paint from Hempels).

The propulsion system includes 2 Zvezda diesel models M470 (2 MTU16V2000M90 diesels, power 2x1343 kW) with a power of 990 kW each at 1550 rpm with two Arneson ACD-14 drives. In addition, to maintain high performance in sea conditions of up to force 4, the boat is equipped with a set of onboard spoilers. To provide on-board electrical power and consumers, the boat is equipped with a 16 kW diesel generator to generate 3-phase alternating current of 220 V with a frequency of 50 Hz and 12/24 V batteries.

The navigation and communications complex ensures safe navigation. It includes a radar, an electronic plotter, a gyroscopic and magnetic compass, a satellite system, a log, an echo sounder, as well as a stationary and portable VHF radio station; it is possible to equip it with HF radio stations and an emergency radio buoy of the COSPAS-SARSAT system.

The armament of the boat pr.12150 "Mongoose" can have different configurations, which are determined by the tasks being solved, the specifics of the application and the customer. The main option assumes the presence on the boat of a 14.5 mm stationary machine gun mount, as well as 1-2 7.62 mm machine guns. In addition, at the request of the customer, the boat can be equipped with a laser-guided Vikhr missile system with a range of up to 10 km, and can also be equipped with an Igla-type man-portable anti-aircraft missile system, a DP-64 anti-sabotage grenade launcher and an AGS-17 grenade launcher. Additionally, the Mongoose boat has an inflatable dinghy with a rigid hull and an outboard motor, as well as a cargo boom with a lifting capacity of 140 kg.

Modifications

The boat pr.12150V differs from the prototype pr.12150 by the presence of the Vikhr missile and artillery system, consisting of a 30-mm rapid-fire cannon and a missile launcher. The complex's ammunition load is 4 missiles and 500 30-mm rounds.

Multi-purpose boat pr.12150M (modification of the boat pr.12150) was created by order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation and launched on June 29, 2006. The boat is designed to perform search and rescue operations during the liquidation of natural disasters, rescuing victims, providing assistance to ships and small vessels in distress watercraft. Equipped with specialized emergency rescue equipment. Produced in series.
