International Airport Liszt Ferenc's capital of Hungary, Budapest, is located at a distance of about 20 km from the city center. Hundreds of flights from all over the world arrive here every day. There are a total of 2 terminals at the airport, which are located next to each other. It takes 2 minutes to walk from the entrance of one to the entrance of the other. Terminals vary by airline. So, for example, 2b - flights of Aeroflot and WizzAir. Most likely this is where you will arrive.

There are several ways to get to your hotel yourself. But it is better to take bus 100E.

Bus 100E from Budapest Airport

This is the best and optimal way!

  • to the airport from Deak Ferenc ter station 03:40 - 00:40, every 20 minutes.

This is the worst option. In general, we don’t recommend using it and no one drives like that. The fact is that there is no train stop at the airport. You can get to the nearest Ferihegy station by bus 200E (day) or 900 (at night), as described in the examples above.

Trains depart from Ferihegy station to Nyugati (West Station). Trains run from 4 am to 11 pm. The cost is about 370 HUF. Travel time is about 30 minutes, trains depart at intervals of 2-3 trains per hour. How to get from Budapest Airport by shuttle bus

Group trips by minibus are quickly gaining popularity among independent travelers. This is a relatively inexpensive and comfortable way to get from the airport to the hotel. Many companies provide this service. For example, minibud.hu. You book a transfer in advance, at a designated place near the airport you find a company minibus, sit down and wait for other clients. In practice, you can go straight away if no one else has booked, or you can wait 30-40 minutes until other flights arrive. The shuttle will take you to the hotel, the cost varies everywhere, about 10 euros per person to a hotel in the center. But if you are traveling with two or three, then it is better to take a taxi or an individual transfer.

How to get from Budapest Airport by taxi

The official taxi service for Budapest Airport is Főtaxi. You will find a taxi rank and ordering counter right next to the exit from the airport. Getting into a taxi costs about 700 HUF, each km costs about 280 HUF. There is also a charge for being stuck in a traffic jam. A trip to the center will cost about 7,000 HUF or 23 euros. Travel time is about 25 minutes. It is worth finding out the distance in advance and plotting the route on your smartphone, as sometimes it happens that the driver is a rogue and you will be taken along a long route. However, there is nothing unusual here - taxi drivers are like that everywhere.

Uber unfortunately does not operate in Budapest. But there is its European analogue - Taxify(search in AppStore and PlayMarket) - taxify.eu. The principle of operation is exactly the same as Uber. You can use a promo code for your first trip HVA49— gives a discount of a couple of euros.

WiFi is weak, but works in the passport control area and in the baggage claim area. It doesn't work near the exit. In order to be always online upon arrival in any country, we recommend that you register .

Private transfer from Budapest airport

An individual transfer is when you are met at the airport with a sign, helped with your luggage and taken to the specified address.

Let's talk about the shortcomings right away:

  • cost - of course it is more expensive than public transport. Choose - either savings or convenience. But if you choose between a taxi and a transfer, the transfer wins.

Transfer advantages:

  • the driver meets you with a sign in the arrivals area. Agree, when arriving in an unfamiliar country, it is pleasant and convenient to be greeted, especially if you are with children,
  • the driver will help with luggage if necessary,
  • transfer price is fixed, is known in advance and does not change. The cost will not change regardless of the amount of luggage, holiday, etc. You can pay for the transfer online in full and then you do not need to change money and banknotes at the airport to pay the driver,
  • You can order a transfer both to Budapest and to other cities - Vienna, Bratislava, Heviz, ...
  • The transfer can be ordered entirely online, and you will receive a voucher by email in a few minutes. There is no need to wait for the operator to call or call someone.

Where to book a transfer from Budapest Airport:

  • — international transfer service, website in Russian, prices vary depending on the type of car. The downside is that the support service is not 24/7, telephone only.
  • - international service. An excellent site, and the support service is even better - everything is in Russian, there is a telephone number for contact. There is even an online chat. There are cars for 1-4 passengers, as well as various types of minibuses for those traveling in large and very large groups. We recommend.

The cost per car is fixed for any area of the city, no matter where your hotel is. To book, you must make a prepayment, immediately after which you will receive a voucher. You can also pay for the trip online in full immediately, in which case you do not pay anything to the driver.

The transfer must be booked in advance, at least 16 hours in advance. If you change your mind or change your plans, you can cancel 24 hours before the trip without any penalties.

What to see in 2-3 days. Sights and routes. Where to stay, where to go, where to dine - bars and restaurants. Which bath to choose?

Before ordering a taxi, you need to remember traffic jams

From any quarter of Budapest you can get to the airport by minibus. The transport is equipped with air conditioning and free Internet access.

You can get to the airport's first terminal by train from Budapest West Station. Tickets are sold at the ticket office on the station platform or from the conductor if the train departs from a small station. A trip to the airport on this bus will be the cheapest if you use its full route: Kebana-Kispest metro station in the city center - terminals No. 1 and No. 2 of Budapest Airport. Travel time is 30 minutes. City bus No. 93 also goes in this direction every ten minutes. Tickets are sold from machines, kiosks or from the driver.

Using the metro, you can go towards the airport to the station “Kőbánya – Kispest”, and then take the above bus route No. 200E.

Domestic European flights require arrival at Budapest airport a couple of hours before departure, while intercontinental flights require arrival 3 hours before departure. That's all, have a good flight!

Our flight from Budapest back to Moscow was at 6 am. We read on travel forums about night bus and were glad that everything was so simple and you could save on a taxi, but that was not the case!
In fact, it took quite a long time to drive from the city center (about 40 minutes) to the very outskirts and change buses №950 on the bus №900 , which just goes to the airport to terminal 2. Taking into account the fact that night transport runs at large intervals, the wait took us about half an hour at a deserted stop in the twilight of the highway, where there was not a soul, only a police patrol drove past us a couple of times. But not everything is so scary) The bus arrived exactly on schedule, and we rode in it with a group of workers, apparently from the night shift, all the way to the terminal. In total, it took us about 1.5 hours to get there.

With a day itinerary No. 200E, everything is much simpler: I got to the metro Kőbánya-Kispest, got out, saw a stop, got in and drove off. And he goes often)
