Beach hotel Baan Panwa (Baan Panwa Resort Beach): description, video, photo

The Baan Panwa beach is located in the southeast of Phuket in Thailand and follows the beaches of Chalong Bay. It is located on the territory of the hotel, but I had no problems getting here. Noise or any inconvenience from the nearby road is not experienced here.

The length of the beach is approximately 70 meters - this is a small beach, there are few people here, a good, well-groomed area. This place is perfect for families with small children!

There are low tides here, but they are not as pronounced as, say, on the beach!

For guests of the resort located on the beach, sunbeds and umbrellas are provided, under which you can hide from the hot sun. You can also rent umbrellas and a sunbed if you come to rest here without staying at the hotel.

The flora here is made up of deciduous and coniferous trees, massive shrubs, which makes it very cozy here and creates a feeling of calm and security. There are many places where you can lie in the shade of trees, listening to the birds singing. There are practically no palm trees here.

The sand is soft, gray-yellow in color. The entrance to the sea is shallow! The water in the sea is not the most transparent, has a greenish tint due to the high content of plankton.

In the north of the beach is the main swimming area. It is very green here and there are interesting sculptures of whales that will be of interest to the kids!

It is also green in the south, but it is no longer so comfortable to swim there, but - you will be alone there!

Coniferous casuarinas grow in the center, hammocks are stretched between them, and behind there are swings! There are sun loungers and there is no direct access to the sea. To go down to the water, you will need to go through special, stone steps.

In search of the exotic, tourists are ready to climb into the most remote corners of the planet, and perhaps the most exotic vacation can be called a trip to Thailand to the island of Phuket. Phuket has many famous beaches, chosen by locals, divers and tourists from all over the world.

There are always a lot of vacationers here, and life is in full swing day and night. But along with the "promoted" Phuket beaches there are other places that promise relaxation and complete unity with nature. Welcome to the deserted Bounty style beach, the calm and secluded Panwa Beach.

Paradise for lovers of beautiful landscapes

In the southeast of Phuket is Panwa Beach (the locals call it Khao Kat Beach). The sea is calm here, but there are such strong low tides that the stones at the bottom are exposed.

Due to the favorable location, there are practically no monsoons here, so you can swim and relax at any time of the year - this is an indisputable advantage compared to Phuket beaches .

The name of the coast was given by the fishermen of the village of Ban Panwa, which is located nearby. Even in ancient times, they measured the length of the coastline, which was "Pan" (translated from Thai "thousand") and "Wa" ("two meters"). Today, the small village peacefully coexists with luxurious resorts, and everyone can get acquainted with the peculiarities of the life of the indigenous people.

Panwa Beach is a narrow strip of sandy shore, its width is not more than 5 meters. Located at a distance from civilization, the beach is rarely crowded. The untouched beauty of nature, a pleasant, very picturesque bay, crystal clear water, a coast with coconut palms - all this Panwa generously gives to its guests. It is especially beautiful here after sunset, when there is not a soul on the coast and you can wander in silence.

There are not many hotels on the beach, but they all have a high level of accommodation. On the shore is the most popularNovotel BeachResort Panwa. Above is the luxurious Cape Panwa Hotel, with stunning views of the sea and the coast. As well as the four-star Radisson Blu Plaza Resort Panwa, Makham Bay Resort, Panwa Beach Phuket and comfortable villas Sri Panwa Phuket.

What to see

A road leads directly from the beach to the Khao Khad view point. A magnificent panorama opens from here: the bay, the sea and the surrounding area lie at a glance, and in clear weather you can see the snow-white one sitting on the top of the mountain on the opposite side of the bay.

If you are not going to be limited to the beach, Panwa has its own small, but beautiful and well-groomed Promenade. This is a good place for morning and evening walks, where you can have a delicious meal in a cozy cafe, looking at the turquoise sea. Colorful Thai boats are parked nearby, which will be taken to neighboring islands for a fee.

When you get tired of basking on the beach or there is a cloudy day, be sure to visit the local Aquarium. This is one of the most interesting attractions in Phuket, located at the end of the promenade. It will be interesting for adult tourists, and even more so for children, to get to know the colorful inhabitants of the Andaman Sea better. Hundreds, marine inhabitants, outlandish plants, giant groupers, and on weekends you can see demonstrative feeding of sharks and rays.

The transparent tunnel in the central part of the aquarium, where the inhabitants of the deep sea swim overhead, makes a great impression. Ticket price for an adult is 100 - 180 baht (depending on the season), for children - 100 baht, admission for a child under 3 years old is free.

How to get to Panwa Beach in Phuket

Buses from the airport do not go to Panwa Beach, so you will have to get there on your own. The fastest and most comfortable way is a separate transfer, which should be booked in advance. Taxis in Phuket are expensive (taking into account the distance of 40 km, the cost of a trip according to the meter is about 750 baht).

You can rent a car or rent a bike. But before you look for transport from the Thais, look in the social. community networks of Russian expats in Thailand. It is likely that you will be able to meet very interesting offers for the price and rental conditions.

If you are coming from Phuket (the distance from the city to Panwa is 10 km), drive along the Chao Fa highway to the first traffic light, then turn east onto Sakdidejana street, and after 10 minutes you will be at your destination.

On the southeast side of Phuket, near Chalong Beach, there is a very good Panwa beach, also known as Khao Kad Beach. The fact that the beach is located on the eastern side of Phuket protects it from the monsoons, which usually blow from the west. For this reason, this beach has an absolutely undeniable superiority over other Phuket beaches, mostly located on its western side - you can swim here almost all year round.

There are many small islands on the horizon, which looks very picturesque from the coast.

Nearby is a small village of fishermen Ban Panwa, the founders of which gave the name to this shore. Even in ancient times, they measured the length of the coastline and determined that its length was “Pan” (in Thai - “thousand”) and “Va” (in the Thai system of calculation - equal to two meters). Luxurious resorts are now adjacent to this village, which allows those who wish to get acquainted with some details of the life of the indigenous inhabitants of this place.

The beach is 42 km from the airport and only about 10 km away. from Phuket town. It is a narrow strip of fairly rocky shore.

Like most beaches on the islands of Thailand, located at some distance from civilization, it is perfect for lovers of a quiet and secluded holiday. It is rarely filled with vacationers, so it is quite calm here.

Prices here are slightly higher than on more crowded beaches - you have to pay for privacy.

Many tourists come here solely to visit the Phuket Aquarium. In the Biological Center for Marine Research, where this aquarium is located, you can admire hundreds of exotic fish, various underwater inhabitants and plants - the colorful inhabitants of the Andaman Sea. A ticket for an adult costs 100 baht, a child ticket is half the price.

The sea here is quite calm, but it is distinguished by strong low tides, when even the stones at the bottom are exposed.

There are not too many hotels on Panwa Beach. The best of them is Novotel Beach Resort Panwa, located right on the seashore. The Cape Panwa Hotel is located on an elevated position with wonderful views of the coastline. Nearby hotels include Makham Bay, Radisson Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach and Sri Panwa Phuket. The level of accommodation in all these hotels is quite high.

For those who want to have a bite without departing from the sea, there are several pretty nice bars on the promenade that sell light snacks and drinks.
