As for the Aegean coast, it has been little explored by our tourists; most of the guests are Europeans. Resorts that belong to this region are: Fethiye, Bodrum, Ole Deniz, Marmaris and Icmeler. For a relaxing holiday, Fethiye, Ole Deniz and Icmeler are ideal options. But Bodrum and Marmaris are very active places, with a well-developed fun day and night life.
From the point of view of nature and climate, the Aegean coast is similar to Kemer, it is just as green and mountainous, with a somewhat shorter time for relaxing at sea, it is better to come here at the end of May, and good weather ends in mid-September. There are, of course, exceptions, but it’s better not to take risks, otherwise you may end up in the cold sea, rain and wind.

It’s hard to imagine a family holiday in Turkish resorts without animators, all-inclusive meals and cheerful compatriots at your side. But after a couple of trips of the same type, I want something new. And as it turns out, the Turkish coast still hides quiet and romantic corners from annoying tourists. One of these wonderful places reserved by the Turks for themselves is the village of Cirali . It is located 40 kilometers from the popular resort of Kemer on the Mediterranean coast.
This place is mainly visited by Turkish citizens, but you can meet Russians or Ukrainians with children. The village of Cirali is located in the Beydaglar conservation area, so there are no huge, noisy hotels here. Instead, tourists are warmly welcomed by small family boarding houses, where travelers, in addition to rooms of different classes, are offered delicious food adapted for tourists. There are a dozen small cafes on one of the streets of the village, but it’s safer to eat at a boarding house. Firstly, dishes are prepared according to the guests' requests, and mild and satisfying dishes are served for children. Secondly, all the products are fresh, and the price of lunch is reasonable. In a boarding house you can have a meal for 20–25 liras, while the average bill in a cafe is 35–40 liras. You can agree on meals at the hotel with the hosts, then dinner or lunch will be prepared at the appointed time. This is especially convenient for tourists with children. You don’t have to wait 30–40 minutes for leisurely waiters in a cafe or restaurant to take and serve your order.
Unlike popular resorts in Turkey, tourists will not be able to go shopping or experience the delights of nightlife in the village of Cirali. Nevertheless, a holiday in this place will be interesting and memorable. Just look at the local beach, 3 km long, where the Caretta-Caretta turtles lay their eggs. The beach area is protected by turtle defenders. However, this does not at all prevent tourists from basking in the sun and swimming in clean water. The entrance to the sea is smooth and gentle - exactly what is needed for little vacationers. The only thing that displeases children is the small pebbles of the sand and pebble beach. However, this small problem can be easily solved with flip flops or Crocs.
Walking along the beach, you will notice unusual structures made of metal rods. It is strictly forbidden to touch them, as they protect the place where turtle eggs are laid.
At the end of August, small turtles begin to hatch and move towards the water. This process is strictly monitored by beach inspectors. In general, from May to the end of September, the beach in the village of Cirali is closed to tourists from 10 pm to 6 am. It is forbidden to walk on the beach at night, especially with a flashlight.
In the village surrounded by mountains, summers are mild, and in winter there are practically no sub-zero temperatures. Such climatic conditions contributed to the fact that local residents began to grow orange and pomegranate trees. If you look closely, the entire village is one large garden. Everywhere there are flower beds with colorful decorative flowers. Walking along Cirali in the late afternoon, tourists will feel the incomparable aroma from all these plantings.
You can do more than just a beach holiday in Cirali. Despite the fact that there are no historical attractions in the village itself, tourists have the opportunity to go on an excursion to the ancient city of Olympos or to the fiery Mount Yanartash. These remarkable places are located in close proximity to Cirali. You can always take a bus or even rent a bike to get to these Turkish attractions.
Mount Yanartash
You need to go to Mount Yanartash, or as many people call it – Chimera, in the late afternoon. With the onset of darkness, the mountain looks much more spectacular. Fire escaping from limestone cracks creates an unusual sight.
In order to look at this beauty, tourists need to travel about 4 km from the village to the foot of the Chimera. After this there is a climb along a rocky path for only about half an hour. There are benches for rest along the entire path to the top.
Curious travelers will need comfortable shoes and a flashlight for a successful climb. There is an entrance fee to the mountain. For adult tourists it is 5 liras. At the top, travelers can taste tea prepared over a mountain fire. A cup of hot drink will cost only 1.5 liras.
Ruins of ancient Olympos
You can walk to Olympos. It is best for tourists with children to go in the morning to get there before the midday heat. Despite the fact that the road to the ruins runs along the beach and you can swim at any time, kids still start to act up in the heat. Olympos itself is surrounded by thickets of trees, including laurel trees and bamboo. Therefore, the inspection of the ruins will take place in the shade.
Entrance to the historical territory is paid for adults. The ticket costs 5 liras. For this money, tourists will be able to see the remains of city walls and an ancient theater, the ruins of a public bath and a large number of tombs.
Boat trips
Tourists can diversify their holiday in Cirali with a boat trip. This pleasure costs 50 liras per adult. Small boats pick up tourists directly from the beach and take them to the nearest islands. The walk is quite long - 5 hours, but it includes a delicious lunch. The cost of a hearty snack is included in the cost of the walk.
Holidays in Cirali, unlike the usual Turkish all inclusive, require tourists to be active. However, all this is overshadowed by the excellent holiday experience in an ecologically clean village. There is especially a lot of educational and interesting things in this place for children. Turtles, fiery mountains and orange trees are much more interesting than a large hotel with standard animation.

If you think that the best Turkish beaches on the Mediterranean Sea are in Antalya or Kemer, for example, then you are deeply mistaken. In fact, the most beautiful beaches in Turkey are located on the Mediterranean Sea, and they are usually not located near those hotels that operate on an all-inclusive system, but in absolutely wonderful corners of this country, where a package tourist, so to speak, never sets foot. However, some very popular resorts among our compatriots also boast very good beaches.
Let's start analyzing the best beaches from the end. In fifth place will be Cleopatra Beach in Alanya. It stretches for almost two and a half kilometers along the sea coast in the western part of the city. It became famous for its clear emerald-colored water and large golden sand, similar to small pebbles. And from this beach there are stunningly beautiful views of Alanya and the fortress. There are many all-inclusive hotels near Cleopatra Beach, and some of them have their own assigned areas for vacationers with free umbrellas and sunbeds. 
In fourth place are the beaches of Oludeniz - Oludeniz Beach and Blue Lagoon. The beach strip here is quite long and it is divided into two parts using a turnstile. The longer eastern part, Oludeniz Beach, is considered a municipal beach with free entry, while the western part of the beach, Blue Lagoon, is shorter and paid. You have to pay seven liras to enter it. But generally speaking, these are essentially the same beach.
Blue Lagoon Beach is, of course, famous throughout the world, but mainly thanks to photos taken from a bird's eye view. The beach actually looks incredibly impressive on them. But in reality it actually looks beautiful - snow-white pebbles and golden sand, greenish-blue water, stunning views of huge mountains and at the same time brave paragliders are constantly soaring in the air.
In third place in our ranking is Cirali Beach, which is also located far from large resorts. It is located in the province of Antalya in the village of the same name at the foot of very high mountains. Here, near the beautiful beach line, campsites are lined up in friendly rows, where you can spend the night in a tent for relatively little money. 
In fact, this place has a truly rustic, calm atmosphere. Time seems to flow slower here, but beer is much faster, since Cirali beach is very popular among free travelers and backpackers. It seems to be reminiscent of Bali with its customs, but only in the Turkish version. This beach is also widely known for the fact that Caretta turtles lay their eggs there and local residents carefully protect their clutches.
In second place is Patara Beach, which when you get there gives the impression that you are anywhere but in Turkey. It stretches along the seashore for as much as ten kilometers, but it is also quite wide, since in some places it is up to one and a half kilometers wide. But the most remarkable thing is that it seems to consist entirely of stunning dunes, as if the Sahara Desert had come to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in this corner of Turkey.
Well, maybe there aren't enough camels. Although the landscape is similar to a desert one, you can walk along the dunes for a very long time and not meet a single person. This is probably why the sea here is so clean and transparent. And this amazingly beautiful place is located not far from the ruins of ancient Patara, which in ancient times was one of the main cities of Lycia. 
Well, in first place we put Kaputas Beach, which, like Patara Beach, is located not far from the romantic and beautiful city of Kas. In general, Kaputazh beach in reality is a short two-hundred-meter beach line sandwiched between two rocks. It is very easy to get here from the city of Kas - you need to travel 20 kilometers by minibus.
The beach is amazing not only for its pristine beauty, but also for its extraordinary water - clean, transparent and very bright, the color of which changes from bright green near the shore to bright blue further in the depths. It’s nice that there are no hotels or campsites nearby, there are no restaurants or annoying merchants. Only the sea, the mountains and you.

The Turkish resort of Alanya is an ancient city on the Mediterranean coast. It is divided into two parts by picturesque rocks. In the Old Part, tourists can see ancient monuments of past eras. In the East of the city you can find those same Turkish bazaars with their flavor and unchanging centuries-old traditions. Everything else is modern Alanya, filled with beautiful hotels and restaurants.
Why is Alanya ideal for a holiday? There are several reasons:
- The beach area stretches for tens of kilometers. It consists of clean, quiet beaches with perfectly white sand, including the famous Cleopatra Beach.
- The subtropical climate allows the sea to always maintain a comfortable warm temperature.
- The city has a wonderful water park with 23 different slides.
In the Old Town you can find atmospheric cafes and teahouses, an old fortress and a Byzantine chapel. Tourists can also visit stalactite caves or look at the Red Tower, 30 meters high and built in 1226.
Side - the city of Greek colonists
The small resort of Side is located just 75 kilometers from Antalya. It occupies the territory of a picturesque peninsula with sandy beaches.
Side was founded in the 7th century BC. Then the city was built by Greek colonists. Since that time, many artifacts and historical sights have been preserved:
- fortress walls;
- ancient theater;
- Temple of Dionysus;
- a triumphal arch built in honor of the Roman Emperor Vespasion;
- archaeological museum located in the Arc de Triomphe.
Resort guests can visit the famous OXYD club, where the largest discos and parties take place. You can check into a luxury hotel or a small cozy hotel with a beautiful swimming pool. The distance to the airport is short, so you should understand that there are always a lot of tourists in the city. There are uninhabited beaches in villages near the resort. You can get there by car or taxi.
Belek and Turkish reserves
The city of Belek is even closer to the airport and Antalya - only 25 kilometers. The hotel complexes of this resort are located among pine and cedar plantations, making the air here very beneficial for the respiratory tract.
Belek has many tennis courts, golf courses, horse riding centers, etc. Fans of active recreation can go to the mountains or go rafting. The mild climate allows you to improve your health and perfectly restore your strength. The beach area here stretches over 20 kilometers of soft white sand.
Guests of Belek can look at the ruins of the ancient city of Perge. The Aspendos Amphitheater is also preserved here. In the western part of the city there is a National Nature Reserve, which occupies as much as 500 hectares. More than 550 species of rare plants and more than 100 rare species of birds grow in the reserve. The park has places for mountaineering and rafting.
Tourists can also visit the huge canyon that stretches along the Kepru River. There is another national park around it. Excursion tours and hiking trips are organized here.
