What we thought

We chose cities with historical buildings that can be reached from Moscow in less than 5 hours. Travel time by car was calculated using the Yandex.Maps service (route without traffic jams, time rounded to tens of minutes), the time and cost of trips by public transport were looked at on Yandex.Schedules and the Russian Railways website (tickets for Saturday, July 7, calculations were made on Tuesday , June 26).

The May holidays are the perfect time to relax and try something new. And in search of discoveries, we usually rush somewhere abroad: to Europe, Asia, America... But few people know what amazing places you don’t have to go far – or rather, fly or drive. How to Green decided to tell you about 8 cities in the Moscow region, and you can allocate... just one day to travel to each of them. Do you want to admire the elegant, unique church preserved from the time of Peter I? Or see how Chekhov and Tchaikovsky lived? Or do you crave thrills and dream of experiencing weightlessness? If yes, then it seems that it’s time to stock up on a camera, a bottle of water, delicious healthy lunches, and a good mood - and go explore the amazing and so close beauties of the Moscow region.

1. Feel like an astronaut in Star City (25 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

The former (until 1968) military village of Zeleny, Zvezdny Gorodok has been a training base for Russian and even some foreign cosmonauts since 1961. Secret during Soviet times, it was closed to the public for a long time, but now provides visitors with the opportunity to study and experience the various stages of training for space explorers - at the Cosmonaut Training Center. Hydroweightlessness, a centrifuge, an IL-76 MDK laboratory aircraft, during the flight of which 8 to 20 weightlessness modes are performed - here, really, you are immersed in the atmosphere of the stars and space “with your head.” In addition to the center, Star City is famous for its Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, so the program for visiting the city will also cover the cultural and educational aspect.

2. Admire the architectural masterpieces in Podolsk (40 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

It’s worth a trip to this rather large city for two architectural masterpieces - the white-stone Znamenskaya Church (in the Dubrovitsy estate), which has no analogues in Russia in its openwork ornateness, and the Ostafyevo estate, which was visited by Karamzin, Zhukovsky, Griboedov and Baratynsky and whose name is associated with a funny legend.

The Znamenskaya Church is the work of Swiss and Italian masters (among whom were Domenico Trezzini and Bernini's student), invited by Prince Boris Golitsyn, tutor of Peter I. Majestic in its splendor of patterns, sophistication of ornament and carving, the church is located on the high bank of the cape between two rivers and It simply captivates the eyes of those who admire it.

And just below the elevation on which this architectural miracle stands, at the confluence of two rivers there is a spacious clearing. You can have a picnic there with a picturesque view of the rivers and the temple, or just lie down with a book, or play badminton, football or volleyball - whatever your imagination allows!

At the Ostafyevo estate you can visit an interesting museum and stroll through a wonderful park with a pond. According to the unofficial (and more fascinating) version, the name of the estate was given, without knowing it, by Alexander Pushkin. The owner of the property, Pyotr Vyazemsky, decided that he would name the estate the first word that the writer uttered upon arrival, and he, getting out of the carriage and seeing a servant with a suitcase, simply said: “Leave him.” According to the official version, this was the name of the village bought by Vyazemsky’s father.

3. Enjoy the scenery in Zvenigorod (61 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

The views of the surroundings of this city, located on the banks of the Moscow River, inspired the masterpieces of such great painters as Levitan, Repin and Savrasov, who painted their paintings here. Zvenigorod is sometimes called “Russian Switzerland” for its hilly terrain, and the nature and clean air of this area contributed to the construction of many Soviet boarding houses and sanatoriums. You can diversify your outdoor recreation with a cultural program by visiting the main attraction of the city - the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, founded in 1398, in the monastery shop of which you will find delicious black onion or white bread with raisins, baked in the shape of a lamb. Also in Zvenigorod you can admire the frescoes of Andrei Rublev (in the Assumption Cathedral), visit the Lyubov Orlova Museum (by appointment) and the estate of the composer Taneyev (in the village of Dyutkovo, where Levitan and Savrasov worked).

Another interesting place in the Zvenigorod region is Lake Glubokoe, one of the deepest lakes in the Moscow region (38 meters). And next to the reservoir you will see the largest stone in the Moscow region - weighing 55 tons and with a perimeter of 13 square meters!

4. Make a pilgrimage to the New Jerusalem Monastery in Istra (69 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

The celebrity and pride of Istra is the New Jerusalem Monastery, which was built by Patriarch Nikon in just 40 years at the end of the 17th century. The construction of this architectural monument was another attempt to transfer the image of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to Russian soil, to create a semblance of the city of Jerusalem near Moscow, which is why, in particular, the Resurrection Cathedral of the monastery reproduces the layout of the Jerusalem temple. Outside the walls of the complex, you can stroll through the Garden of Gethsemane and visit the Museum of Wooden Architecture.

And you can entertain yourself with physical activity (weather permitting) at the “Vesely Veter” water sports center near the village of Lamishino, at the southernmost point of the Istra Reservoir. Here you can take a course in windsurfing and stand-up paddle boarding, play beach volleyball and table tennis, ride a boat and catamaran and compete in giant chess. By the way, their season opened on April 29!

5. Learn to write with a pen and fly in a wind tunnel in Chekhov (73 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

Firstly, Chekhov is, of course, the Melikhovo estate with the A.P. Chekhov House Museum: here is the outbuilding where “The Seagull” was written, and the writer’s ancient garden, his house and doctor’s office. In the city itself, in the post office building, there is the Museum of Letters of A.P. Chekhov: in addition to excursions, here you can attend interactive classes “Living Letter”, where they teach you to write with pen and ink, like in the old days.

Secondly, in the city you can go and admire the snow-white Church of the Conception of Anna (built in 1694) on the territory of the Lopasnya-Zachatievskoye estate of the late 18th century. One of the builders of the estate, Prince Vasilchikov, was a favorite of Catherine II herself.

If you want to experience the unforgettable feeling of flying, then on the way to the city itself (53 kilometers from Moscow) stop by the first FreeZone complex in Russia - there you will be instructed, provided with equipment and sent to fly in a wind tunnel. This “attraction” is suitable for both professional skydivers and beginners.

6. Explore Russian church architecture in Sergiev Posad (73 km from MKAD)

Perhaps the main thing that makes this city so attractive is the stunning view of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra with its sparkling gold and sky-blue elegant domes. Inside the largest monastery The Russian Orthodox Church will amaze you with the variety of famous architectural styles: it is not for nothing that the architectural ensemble of the Lavra is under the protection of UNESCO. You can take a leisurely stroll around the area, admiring the views of nature and old buildings laconically integrated into the landscape.

7. Get to know the work of composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky in the city of Klin (87 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

The great composer lived in the city itself for about 8 years, and he spent his last months in what has now become the House-Museum of P. I. Tchaikovsky. The house has preserved its original surroundings and furnishings, and among the especially interesting things here you can see a centipede table (designed for 20 people, that is, 40 legs) and a table at which Symphony No. 6 and the Nutcracker ballet were written. In addition, the city has a small museum of Arkady Gaidar and the Museum of Christmas tree decorations.

All kinds of outdoor entertainment will help you enrich and enliven the program in the Kuznetsovo estate, located in the Klinsky district, where you can learn horse riding (even sign up for a horseback riding tour in the outskirts of Klin), ride an ATV, play paintball and sumoball, or take a 30-minute rafting on the Nudol River, which flows into the Istra Reservoir.

8. Look at the Kremlin in the “capital of the Moscow region” Kolomna (114 km from the Moscow Ring Road)

The most distant historical city in our selection, which is unofficially called the “capital of the Moscow region”. In the 16th century, even before Ivan the Terrible, a majestic brick Kremlin was erected here to protect the main outpost from regular attacks by the Crimean Tatars. Now you can only admire the remnants of its former grandeur - a few towers and fragments of walls, but they also make the right impression. Inside the Kremlin itself, the atmosphere and ensemble of the old city were preserved, and the entire territory was given the status of a nature reserve.

As you can see, the Moscow region is rich not only in historical places, but also in all kinds of entertainment programs. And the list we have proposed, of course, does not cover everything that you can devote your weekends to. Choose, study and discover happy and eventful holidays for you!

Let's explain the news: why do passengers buy seats on the plane?

August 20, 2019

I was carrying a coconut: what will the new rules for the import of food and flowers change?

Stop whining that winter is coming and you haven’t done anything interesting. Before it gets painfully cold, jump on the last train and go on a mini-trip. There is no need to take a vacation; a lot of money is also unlikely to be useful. But there will be at least a ghostly hope that the summer was not in vain.

Below are 5 ideas for weekend trips from Moscow. Buildings forgotten by restorers, unique nature and insanely strange museums are at your complete disposal.

Tula

Tula is actually a treasure. Tula region and even better. Here you can eat, drink, and drink, and it’s all beautiful to photograph.

Things to do

Day 1

  • The Tula Kremlin - in addition to its historical value, it also has walking value.
  • Samovar Museum. It is very close, and after visiting your flat jokes about “going to Tula with your own samovar” will reach a new level.
  • Gingerbread Museum. A tiny house where you will get delicious food.
  • Museum "Yasnaya Polyana" - the estate of Leo Tolstoy. A top place that you can’t live without visiting in Tula (otherwise everyone will think that you only need to eat, there’s no culture in the person).
  • Bonus for fans of the writer: not far from Yasnaya Polyana there is an old one railroad station“Kozlova Zaseka”, from where Tolstoy set off on his last journey. Now there is a museum where they rent 19th century costumes for 100 rubles.

Day 2

  • Konduki, or Romantsevskie Mountains, is an abandoned quarry in the region and the most popular photo spot in the vicinity of Moscow. The easiest way to get there, of course, is by car, but if there is neither one nor fellow travelers, there are buses. True, with a transfer: from Tula to Bogoroditsk, and from there to Konduki. In principle, by the time you get there, and then groan from the beauty and look for the least crowded place for photos, the day will already have passed. And it's definitely worth it.
  • Desperate travelers who need to squeeze a week’s worth of impressions into two days can take a walk around Bogoroditsk itself in front of the Romantsevskie Mountains. There you need to look into the estate of Count Bobrinsky, in the best traditions, with interiors, very expensive furniture and all that.

Pereslavl-Zalessky

One of the few cities where it really makes sense to come for two days and not run away to any neighboring villages and environs. A terrible relaxation sets in near the water, and you can always turn somewhere and stumble upon beautiful window frames or a boat that looks a hundred times older than the local landmark - the boat of Peter I. And there is also extreme sports here.

Things to do

Day 1

  • A forced march along Lake Pleshcheevo - so gigantic that with enough imagination it will replace the sea for you if you didn’t get to it again this year.
  • Iron Museum. And give me at least one reason why not.
  • Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral of the 12th century.
  • Forty Saints Church.
  • Nikolsky Monastery.
  • Blue stone. On the shore of the lake lies a huge boulder, which, according to the information sign, was brought all the way from the Scandinavian mountains. He was worshiped in ancient times, and today the pilgrimage is also very popular.

Day 2

  • Steam Locomotive Museum. Located on the opposite side of the lake from the Blue Stone.
  • Boat of Peter I. A museum about the flotilla of the most fashionable of our kings. There is an entire estate, a ballroom, an art gallery and the status of the oldest provincial museum in the country (oh how).
  • Dormition Goritsky Monastery.
  • Berendey's house. Fairytale tower with excursion. Independent travelers are respected here, they promise to seat them not just somewhere, but on the royal throne. There is also a dress-up game for photos.
  • Dendrological garden. Of course, with the main garden plant of central Russia - the hut on chicken legs.
  • Extreme sports enthusiasts should definitely do something special here, for example, fly on a motorized paraglider. Or go kitesurfing. Lake Pleshcheyevo is a mecca for lovers of such things.

Uglich and Myshkin

Each of these cities is interesting in its own way, but it’s not worth trying to fit them into one day, or spending two tourist days in each of them. So geography itself suggested an ingenious weekend route.

Things to do

Day 1: Uglich

  • Chambers of the Uglich princes. Take photos and look at museum exhibits.
  • The Church of Tsarevich Dmitry on the Blood is the place where the son of Ivan the Terrible accidentally ran into a knife, after which the Time of Troubles began in the country.
  • Epiphany Cathedral.
  • Museum of Prison Art. The best location of all that we offer you here.
  • Uglich hydroelectric power station - for those in love with industrial wonders.
  • Fire Tower. Also a landmark.

Day 2: Myshkin

  • Museum of the Mouse - there you will find out whether mice really “creep”.
  • Palace of the Mouse.
  • Museum of Local Lore. There are many different exhibitions here, but, in my humble personal opinion, the most interesting is the one with church figures. It seems that they are Catholic, and there is clearly no place for them in a wooden hut somewhere in the Yaroslavl region.
  • Museum of old technology. Even two. The second is officially called the Club-Museum of Retro Equipment “Crew”.
  • Museum of Wooden Architecture. So big (for a tiny town) that you can look at the local houses almost endlessly.
  • Monument to Lenin on Uglichskaya Street. It would seem that there is no such good thing, but in Myshkin it’s a very good place - right opposite the temple.
  • Myshkin is wonderful for walking. If you want to look at some half-abandoned buildings, he has them. Perhaps this is one of the cutest small towns in Russia.

Sergiev Posad

Pilgrims come here from all over the world, and this is the only city in the Moscow region (and not in another region) that is included in the Golden Ring of Russia. In a small area there are many shrines, historical artifacts and somehow especially beautiful trees.

Things to do

Day 1

  • The Holy Trinity Lavra of Sergius is a must-see, regardless of your religion. Architecture is architecture everywhere, and here it will impress even the most callous person on the planet.
  • The Gethsemane Chernigov monastery is a more modest place, but also famous, you should go.
  • The Sergiev Posad Historical and Art Museum-Reserve is simply the Hermitage at minimum wage. There is almost everything here that is at least a little connected with history.
  • The Bells of Rus' Museum is tiny, but worthwhile in the context of domestic tourism. If only because the bells here will be completely different from those you thought about.

Day 2

  • Abramtsevo Estate - a full day activity. Many artists were inspired by the local views - Repin, Vasnetsov, Vrubel, Serov, Korovin. There are many houses, exhibition pavilions and other buildings on the territory of Abramtsevo. There are rumors that if you go around them all, the hidden talent of Instagram will be revealed.

Tver

In addition to a completely traditional range of provincial entertainment, there is a lot of useful street art here. This is explained by the convenient location between Moscow and St. Petersburg. You can go crazy over gastronomy - more precisely, over the local beer “Afanasy Nikitin”.

Things to do

Day 1

  • The Imperial Travel Palace is today an art gallery.
  • Walking around the city in search of the best graffiti.
  • River Station building.
  • The Zvezda Cinema is one of the strangest constructivist buildings in the city in the shape of binoculars. If you go to watch a movie, don’t be surprised: instead of boring halls No. 1 and No. 2, you will be enlightened in “Chaplin” or “Fellini”.
  • Stepan Razin embankment - for walks.
  • Experimentorium is for everyone who skipped chemistry at school, but regrets it a little. In addition to chemical shows, there are nitrogen shows, physics shows, Tesla shows, master classes on soap making and much more. Need to check the schedule website . Keep in mind that the museum is, in general, for children.
  • The Goat Museum is another museum you have to go to just because.

Day 2

  • If the weather permits, fly in a hot air balloon over the city! You need to book your flight in advance (at least a week in advance); they usually fly early in the morning or late in the evening. Be prepared that it won’t be cheap, but this is the main expense of the trip. The rest (truth) is a penny.
  • If you are unlucky or too poor, go learn the main Russian songs at the Mikhail Krug Museum. So that you won’t be ashamed to return to Moscow.

Bonus: A few more options for traveling for at least one day

  • “Vikhlyandiya”, aka Russian Disneyland in Kozelsk (Kaluga region).
  • Sumarokovskaya moose farm in the Kostroma region - here you can babysit real moose, and you won’t get anything for it.
  • Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve with eco-trails and a bison nursery.
  • Yesenin's native village is Konstantinovo.
  • Nikola-Lenivets (if you are one of those who have not been there before).

Where to go on an excursion

Perhaps Moscow and the Moscow region have the richest program of excursions. There are a lot of options - from the Armory Chamber in Moscow to estates in the Moscow region.

Fairytale estate Abramtsevo

An interesting place where you can go in the Moscow region for the weekend - Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve. It is located near the city of Sergiev Posad on the Vori River. Great writers and artists of the 18th and 19th centuries stayed here, and now a state museum. In Abramtsevo you can see paintings by V. M. Vasnetsov, I. E. Repin, V. A. Serov, K. A. Korovin, admire the bizarre architecture and learn the history of the owners of the estate. It was here that the famous children's fairy tales “The Scarlet Flower”, “The Swan Princess”, “Alyonushka”, and “The Snow Maiden” were written. You can safely come here with your children, see live places from the plots of Russian fairy tales, the Teremok Bathhouse and the real Baba Yaga's hut on chicken legs designed by Vasnetsov. You can go to Abramtsevo for the weekend in the Moscow region on your own.

  • The easiest way to get from Moscow is by train from Yaroslavsky station to Abramtsevo station, then walk 1.5 km to the estate. Entrance to the museum-reserve costs 150 rubles, there are creative classes for children with art historians and artists - 500 rubles, master classes - 150 rubles.

A very beautiful and interesting place. On weekends there are not many people, you can calmly walk and enjoy nature.

All exhibitions are paid, the children were not interested, there was nowhere to eat. There are problems with parking.

Weekend in the Moscow region: Peredelkino

The next place to go for a weekend in the Moscow region is Peredelkino, a famous writer's village in the south of Moscow. Pasternak, Leonov, Serafimovich, Akhmadulina, Rozhdestvensky, Paustovsky, Babel, Chukovsky lived here. Many of the houses no longer exist, but now you can visit the Peredelkino Writers’ House of Creativity and the house-museums of Pasternak, Chukovsky, Okudzhava, and the Yevtushenko Gallery.

  • You can get there by train from Kievsky station, you need to get off at Peredelkino station or the next Michurinets station. Further walk 2 km. From the Borovskoye Shosse metro station, walk 3.7 km. Entrance costs 150 rubles.

It is located close to Moscow, we went for a walk on Saturday. It's interesting to spend time with benefit. It’s a shame that many legendary houses are simply closed, there are no museums there, they are surrounded by a fence, and some were sold by the descendants of writers, there are mansions here, and wooden houses are being demolished.

Arkhangelskoye Estate Museum

On a weekend in the Moscow region you can go to Arkhangelskoe, which is located in the northwest in the Krasnogorsk region. The museum-estate is called the Russian Versailles, which has survived to this day as an integral architectural and park ensemble. Pushkin, Belinsky, Herzen, Sheremetyev, Obolensky, Shakhovsky visited these places. Here you can see palaces, the Colonnade temple-tomb, museums, a park, the Gonzaga Theater, included in the UNESCO heritage list, and learn about the life of the Russian nobility, whose life changed dramatically during the events of 1917.

  • It’s easier to get to the Arkhangelskoye Museum-Estate from the Tushinskaya metro station by buses No. 540, 541, 549, minibuses No. 541, 549 to the Arkhangelskoye stop. Then walk around the estate. Entrance costs 150 rubles, photo and video shooting are paid - 3000 rubles.

Very beautiful interior design and interior of the Grand Palace.

Until May 18, the estate is closed for reconstruction. It’s good that I looked on the website, otherwise I would have gone in vain.

Weekend in the Moscow region: ghost town or Piligrim Porto (KinoGorodok)

Just imagine there is a real European town of the 18th century, where you can go for a weekend in the Moscow region. IN ghost town there is everything that small towns are so famous for, namely quiet narrow streets, small houses with their peaked roofs, like something out of a fairy tale, a huge market square with goods for every taste. But the most exciting thing, of course, is the pirate port, where there is an amazing sailboat. This sea vessel is only a model, but it was made according to sketches of real ships and built to real size.

A ghost town, where you should definitely go for a weekend in the Moscow region, appeared in Serednikovo relatively recently, namely in 2010. The purpose of creating a small European town in the vast expanses of Russia was to film the film “Notes of the Forwarder of the Secret Chancellery,” which was filmed in the genre of a historical detective story. And since everything here is really “real,” KinoGorodok is recognized as one of the most striking attractions where you can go for a weekend in the Moscow region by car.

Six days a week (except Monday), from 10 am to 5 pm, the visitor is presented with the exhibition “ Old city" The cost of tickets for visiting is quite reasonable: adults and teenagers from 14 years old - 150 rubles; children 3-14 years old, preferential categories of the country's population - 50 rubles; disabled people and persons entitled to benefits - free of charge. In addition, you can completely freely and freely take photographs and shoot videos about interesting places in the Moscow region by car.

Piligrim Porto is a whole complex of sites, but the Serednikovo estate deserves special attention. We are talking about an old estate, which from the air very much resembles a white bird covering the top of a hill with its huge wings. This building can be successfully called an example of estate art of the late 18th century. This famous place It is also famous for its popularity because Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov loved to spend his youth here.

The estate is located at the following address: Solnechnogorsk district, Firsanovka village, territory of the film town. If you decide to get to the place by car, then you should follow the Leningradskoe Highway from the Moscow Ring Road, make a U-turn towards Moscow, and turn towards the village of Elino. The main thing is not to miss the turn to Firsanovka, which will be in half a kilometer.

  • Electric trains run from Leningradsky station to Firsanovka station. In the village you should change to bus number 40 and get to the final stop, the Mtsyri sanatorium. If you are coming from the city of Zelenograd, then bus number 7 goes to Firsanovka.

The houses are beautiful, but everything is shabby and you can see that it is deteriorating.

We went for a walk with our 5 year old child. Entrance costs 150 rubles. The houses are made of plywood; from a distance it looks beautiful, but upon closer inspection it becomes clear. It’s cool that you can go inside many buildings.

Weekend in the Moscow region, where to go: Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery

The next place to go for a weekend in the Moscow region is Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery b. If you are a lover of history, architecture and even interesting legends, then you will like it here. This is an Orthodox architectural complex, erected in 1398 by the decision of the Zvenigorod wonderworker Savva.

The monastery proudly rises on Mount Storozhe on the high bank of the Moscow River. Due to its interesting location, in different years of its existence it was both a military outpost of Moscow and a country royal residence under Alexei Mikhailovich. By the way, it was under the latter that the monastery received the status of the first monastery.

The history of the complex is 600 years old, which means there really is something to see and something to hear about. Amazing, breathtaking complex with rich history Today it is actively being restored. It is located on the territory of the Moscow region in the city of Zvenigorod.

  • Address: Ratekhinskoye sh., 8, Zvenigorod. It’s easier to get there from the Tushinskaya metro station by bus No. 455 to the Ministry of Defense Rest House stop, then walk 600 meters.

Beautiful architectural ensemble, clean air. There is a source from clean water, you can get a bottle. But it’s a long drive from Moscow, the museum closes at 5 p.m., and then there’s nothing to do. There are a lot of beggars who interfere with enjoying nature.

Where to go in the Moscow region: Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve

Another worthy place to go in the Moscow region for the weekend is in the south. This is about Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve, created in 1948, most of which is occupied by pine forests, interspersed with birch, oak, and linden groves. For example, more than 1,000 plant species are found in the Moscow region, and 895 of them can be found here in the reserve. This means that a place to visit on a weekend in the Moscow region will be of interest to biologists, young visitors, and simply nature lovers.

On the territory of the reserve there are small sphagnum swamps, densely overgrown with northern plant species (moss moss, cranberry, sundew); interesting places in the Moscow region surprise with rare steppe plants - feather grass, fescue, forest tulip.

The reserve also has its own inhabitants: martens, moose, hares, otters, wolves, lynxes, and Lately managed to restore the population of roe deer and beavers. In total, there are 56 species of mammals in the reserve.

More than 140 species of birds make their nests and live in the reserve. Visitors have a wonderful opportunity in summer and spring to meet pied flycatchers along the way, observe the life of the warbler and great tits, and appreciate the beauty of finches. Black kites, tawny owls and little owls, hawks and wood grouse also live here. Rare species are also found among the insects that inhabit the reserve - the Apollo, Mnemosyne, Machaon and others butterflies surprise here with their beauty.

But the main attraction, for which it is really worth going here for a weekend in the Moscow region, is the bison (a representative of the largest ungulates on the European continent). Actually, for the sake of breeding bison and resettling them in wildlife and all this beauty was created.

For groups of up to 4 people, the cost of a 2-hour excursion is 1,500 rubles, for groups of more than 4 people – 150 rubles. for children and 300 rub. for adults. Young preschoolers enter the reserve for free, but for orphans, disabled children, disabled people of groups 1 and 2 and other beneficiaries, with supporting documents, a half-price discount.

  • If you are going to the reserve by your own transport from Moscow, then you need to keep the direction south along the Varshavskoye Highway (E-95 highway), then go to Simferopolskoye and, having passed the “97 km” sign, turn at the “Serpukhov, Danki” sign. After turning left towards Danki and passing under the road bridge, you need to go straight for about 4 km. Having reached Danka, the “Main Road” sign will serve as a guide; near it you should turn right, drive over the bridge over Sushka, and after 200 m turn right (sign “Reserve” and “Excursion Bureau”).
  • If there is no personal transport, then you need to leave the route from Kursky Station. Or you can take the Tsaritsyno and Tekstilshchiki platforms and get off at Serpukhov station. Buses number 41, 31 and minibus 25 “Serpukhov-Danki” go from the station square to the “Zapovednik” stop.

This is where bison are rescued. Everything is clean, well-maintained, you can travel with children for the whole day. You can also eat and drink there, everything is organized. The downside is that it is difficult to find a toilet.

We went with our son and took carrots and cabbage for the bison. And you need to take a bottle of water for yourself, because the walk is long, and the store is only at the entrance.

Natural Museum-Reserve of Vasily Polenov

A place to go in the Moscow region for a weekend with children - Natural Museum-Reserve of Vasily Polenov. Of greatest interest is the fact that the 17 memorial buildings that make up the estate and erected in the late 19th - early 20th centuries, according to the design of V.D. Polenov, have been preserved to this day in their original form. The artist’s estate itself is 14.1 hectares with various buildings and a manor park, in which most of the pine trees were built by the artist himself. So it’s also worth visiting it for a weekend in the Moscow region.

The gates of the museum-reserve are open to guests from 11 am to 6 pm on all days except Monday and Tuesday. Pensioners, students and schoolchildren will have to pay 100 rubles for entry, everyone else - 200 rubles. If you decide to visit the Admiralty, the entrance fee is 60-70 rubles, the exhibition hall is 50 and 100 rubles. respectively.

The car needs to move along Simferopol highway 86 km, and another 4.5 kilometers after the bridge you should turn to Zaoksky. Along the main road it is 10 km to Malakhovo, turn onto Polenovo and drive a little more than 3 km.

  • To go to the Vasily Polenov Natural Museum-Reserve on a weekend in the Moscow region, you need to take the Moscow-Tula train, get off at Tarusskaya station, and transfer to public transport to Velegozh. Stop “Selo Strakhovo”, from which you need to walk about 1 km.

We took a tour with a guide, a very interesting, versatile person, she told me about these places in a fun way. The reserve itself is a picturesque place, but a bit far from Moscow.

It's better to go by car. It’s inconvenient to get there on your own, but there are few tourists. There is a beach on the river, you can stop in the forest for a picnic. Take your food with you, there are no cafes or shops nearby.

Where to go for a weekend in the Moscow region: “Guslitsa” - art space

An interesting creative place where you can go for a weekend in the Moscow region - art space "Guslitsa". The international art residence located its premises in an abandoned weaving factory. Various creative master classes are held here for young visitors and adults. At the same time, the artisans themselves live and work here.

  • Address: Ilyinsky Pogost (Orekhovo-Zuevsky district), st. Mitrokhinskaya house 8.

Everything was organized competently, considering that it is so far from Moscow.

The place was not impressive. A bunch of some hippies and slackers.

Central Air Force Museum

Next on the list of places to go in the Moscow region for the weekend - Central Air Force Museum. The first museum in Russia with real Air Force equipment is located just 38 km from Moscow. Here are presented helicopters, aircraft engines, airplanes, weapons and rescue equipment, which are striking examples of domestic aviation since 1909. In total, the museums have more than 37,000 exhibits.

Opening hours: from 9.30 am to 17 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On weekends the museum is open to the public from 09.00 to 14.00.

  • You can get there by train to the Monino station and Yaroslavsky railway station or by bus No. 322 from the metro station " Izmailovsky Park» to the Gagarin stop. From the bus station you can take minibus No. 362 to the final stop.

It was my first time in this museum. I liked the exposition that during open days you can board the airships and sit in the cockpit at the controls. On other days you cannot enter.

Moscow region, where to go on a weekend by car: Glinka Estate

Glinka Estate dates back to the times of Peter the Great, and the entire architectural ensemble was created in 1727-1735. All buildings are made in the popular Baroque style. So, the main difference is that all utility buildings are located symmetrically to the main building; opposite the entrance there is a wonderful park with a pond and pavilions.

  • The Glinki estate, where you should definitely go for a weekend trip to the Moscow region, is located in the city of Losino-Petrovsky, in the place where the Vorya River flows into Klyazma. Today the building of the estate houses the Mosino sanatorium.

We arrived and were a little shocked. The estate is closed, no one is there. Everything is in some kind of desolation. You can walk through the holes in the fence for free.

Old mill in Yuryatino

Another place where to go on a weekend in the Moscow region by car for 1 day - old mill in Yuryatino. It would seem, what is interesting in the old mill? But no, the monumental five-story building, of which only the walls remain today, was erected by the merchant Krasavin at the end of the 19th century. Not only was flour ground in colossal volumes, but there were also many utility rooms, such as meeting rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and even reception rooms.

  • The mill is located in Protvino, where from Moscow you can get there by minibuses No. 363 and 913 from the Yuzhnaya metro station and by train to the station. "Serpukhova", from where you can get to the destination by bus No. 127.

Good place for a photo shoot. But I wouldn’t go there on purpose.

Borodino field

"Borodino Field" is a unique state military-historical museum-reserve, where you should definitely go for a weekend in the Moscow region. Founded by Emperor Nicholas I in 1839 on the site of the Battle of Borodino, a clash between the armies of Napoleon and Kutuzov. Later, the Nazi offensive was held back here.

The territory of the museum is 100 sq. m. 5 exhibitions, more than 200 memorials and memorable places are constantly displayed here.

  • Address: Moscow region, Mozhaisky district, village. Borodino.

I was on the Borodino field along with an excursion. It is huge, and as the guide said, even most of it is overgrown with forest, in the center there is a memorial, a lot of flowers. It's nice that they don't forget even in our time. It's worth the trip, I don't regret it.

Vadim Zadorozhny Museum of Technology

If you are thinking about a weekend in the Moscow region, where is the best place to go, then visit the Museum of Technology. The museum was founded in 2005 by the famous collector Vadim Zadorozhny. Today, the museum’s collection includes more than half a thousand exhibits, including: rare examples of aviation, vintage motorcycles and vintage cars, small arms and military equipment, interior items and much more.

Access to the equipment is absolutely free, which means everyone can feel like a motorist of the last century, take part in the disassembly of historical weapons, take a photo on a tank, etc.

The museum is located in the village of Arkhangelskoye in the Krasnogorsk region. The museum is open every day: on weekends from 10.00 to 20.00, on weekends until 21.00. Ticket price: adults - 150 rubles, preferential categories of the population - 150 rubles. On weekends, tickets cost 100 rubles. more. Children under 6 years old do not pay admission.

  • Directions: from Tushinskaya metro station to Linden Alley» on buses 541, 568 or 549 or on minibuses with the same numbers.

Everything was thought out for people who came with a 1-year-old child. You can travel everywhere with a stroller, which is already a rarity for museums. There are a lot of exhibits, there are descriptions everywhere, entry costs 150 rubles, which is inexpensive. For children there is playground. The downside is that there’s a line at the checkout, it’s almost a full house. Or we were just unlucky.

Tank Museum located in Kubinka

If you are deciding where to go for a weekend in the Moscow region, consider the museum of armored weapons. It is located 64 km from Moscow. The largest collection of military vehicles produced since 1931 is presented here. All exhibits are located in seven halls.

Museum opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 10.00 to 18.00, on weekends from 10.00 to 19.00. The cost of an adult ticket is 100 rubles, a discount ticket is 200 rubles. On weekends the price increases by 100 rubles.

  • Route by personal transport: Minskoe highway, 63 km, bridge to Narofominsk, turn around and see the “Tank Museum” sign, turn right. By public transport you need to go from Belorussky railway station by train to Kubinka station, and then to the Tank Museum stop by minibus No. 59.

We went to the museum with a group, a nice large area, a lot of tanks, you can climb, it’s not prohibited. There is free parking and a mobile audio guide, shops and a souvenir shop at the entrance. You can shoot at the shooting range.

"Sivka"

Another place to go for a weekend in the Moscow region is Sivka. This is an equestrian club where you can ride horses and where you can go for a weekend in the Moscow region on your own. Here everyone can feel like a real rider. “Sivka” teaches horse riding lessons, offers walks in the beautiful surroundings, and offers rides in a spacious indoor arena under the strict guidance of instructors.

  • The club is located 16 km from Moscow, in the village of Pessier. You need to get there by bus No. 531 from the Teply Stan metro station to the Shchapovo-1 stop, then walk 2.9 km.

Moscow region, where to go on the weekend: Kolomna Kremlin

When considering the Moscow region, where to go on the weekend by car, do not forget about the Kolomna Kremlin. The Moscow Kremlin has its own twin brother, and this is the Kolomna fortress, built at the beginning of the 16th century. The spiritual center of the “Kremlin” is the beautiful Cathedral Square with the Assumption cathedral, built by order of Dmitry Donskoy. Here you can enjoy the grandeur and beauty of the 14th-century Church of the Resurrection, where the prince himself got married, admire the grandiose bell tower and the Tikhvin Cathedral, and walk around the historical part of the city with old noble mansions and merchant houses.

  • From the Kazansky railway station you can get to the Kolomna Kremlin by train from the Vykhino metro station or by bus from the Kotelniki metro station. Route by personal transport for a weekend in the Moscow region: 110 km to Kolomna along the Novoryazanskoe highway.

It is better to go to Kolomna overnight; there are inexpensive hotels in the city. I liked everything very much, I recommend it. In the center you can take a walk, go down to the river, and barbecue. A real holiday, overall.

Pastila Museum operating in Kolomna

On the unsightly, at first glance, streets of Kolomna there is a unique house built in the 19th century by the merchant Suranov himself, where you should definitely go for a weekend in the Moscow region. Once upon a time, sweets were sold here, and today there is a museum of pastila (a delicacy made from honey, apples and nuts). Museum visitors have a unique opportunity to watch the process of making Kolomna pastila, but also to personally become part of the production process, followed by tasting.

  • Museum address: Kolomna, st. Posadskaya 13a.

Delicious marshmallow, but the prices are high, a small box costs 500 rubles, and large ones start from 1200 rubles.

Toy Museum - Sergiev Posad

Another place in the Moscow region where to go on a weekend by car for 1 day is the Toy Museum - Sergiev Posad. The museum today attracts modern toy lovers with thematic exhibitions: Toys of the countries of the East, Children's portrait, Russian folk toy, New Year's, Russian and Western European toys of the 20th century. Particularly interesting is the exhibition “Children’s Portrait” - it exhibits paintings by both Russian and European masters.

The museum doors are open on all days except Tuesday, Monday and the last Friday of the month from 10 am to 5 pm. The museum is also closed from December 29 to January 2 and January 7. You can safely go to the Moscow region for the weekend.

  • Address: Sergiev Posad, Red Army Avenue 123. Adults need to pay 150 rubles for admission, children under 7 years old are free, and schoolchildren and pensioners – 10 rubles. To get to the Toy Museum without personal transport for a weekend in the Moscow region, you need to go from the Yaroslavsky railway station to the Sergiev Posad station or from the VDNH metro station by bus No. 388. The museum is located next to the Lavra.

We had been to a toy museum in Spain before, and then came to ours. Well, what can I say, repairs to the building will not harm, the organization is lame. But I liked everything exactly as a museum, there are a lot of exhibits, each toy has its own story. Without information from the guide, it will be uninteresting to visit.

Where to go for a weekend in the Moscow region: Zaraisky Kremlin

The Zaraisky Kremlin is one of the largest and most interesting museums, where a weekend trip to the Moscow region by car is a must. Despite the fact that its history dates back to 1528-1531, the structure has been perfectly preserved to this day. The museum itself is located next to the city bus station, in the building of the Trinity Church on the square. Revolutions.

  • From the Kotelniki metro station you need to take bus number 330 to Zaraysk, get to the bus station, from there it is 400 meters to the Zaraisk Kremlin.

I went from Kolomna to the Zaraisky Kremlin. It’s better to take a tour so that the guide can tell you everything. Inside there is the St. Nicholas Church and the Church of the Beheading of John the Baptist. The area is small, but nearby you can go down to the Sturgeon River.

Where to go in the Moscow region: the Apraksin estate in Olgovo

Olgovo is known for its picturesque places and it is not at all surprising that films are often filmed here. As for the estate, where a weekend trip to the Moscow region by car is a must, there is a legend that here you can meet the spirit of Pushkin’s “Queen of Spades,” namely the daughter of Natalya Petrovna Golitsina. Being married to S.S. Apraksin, the owner of the estate, she often visited the Moscow region and preferred these places to Moscow balls and luxurious halls. She still loves coming here today.

The main house of the estate has already been destroyed, but you can still contemplate buildings from the 1790s, obelisks, a stable and a barn, one of the towers in a pseudo-Gothic style, a stone church and a piece of the park. The entrance to the estate is open every day from 9 am to 8 pm. In addition, there are rest houses here.

  • Finding the estate is easy: along Dmitrovskoye Highway you move towards the village of Krasnaya Gorka, turn left onto Rogachevskoye Highway to Fedorovka and at the first right turn you turn into Olgovo. From Moscow to the estate – 55 km. You can get there public transport: to Dmitrov station by train (Savelovsky station), then by bus 23.
