You can also buy it in a specialized store, along with a guide to Thailand. The last option seems the most logical, however, this is a wrong opinion. Don't waste baht on something you can get for free. Below are options for purchasing site plans that won't break your budget.

  1. Free Russian maps of Pattaya at hotel receptions. They are always on stands at the entrance to the hotel along with advertising materials from travel agencies, diving schools, and transport companies. You can safely enter any hotel and do not hesitate to take these printed products, even if you are not a guest and do not intend to check in. They won't grab your hands.
  2. Free maps at supermarket entrances. Already in the city you can get acquainted with the popular chain retail outlets Family Mart and Seven Eleven, and in cities and towns they are found everywhere. Some smiling secret woman with a pack of the same advertising spam will also be found at the cash register counters. Don’t shy away from them, as you do, for example, in Moscow. Take everything she offers and use free maps, which will probably be Russified.

It is considered the most active and popular resort among young people in the country. There are many bars, discos, restaurants and cafes to suit every taste. In this city it is possible to combine all types of recreation, as well as go on interesting excursions and see various sights. But before you go on vacation to this Thai resort, it is better to find out all the useful information about it in advance /

Pattaya is located in the southeastern part of Thailand and is washed by the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. is located 165 kilometers from this resort town. There are 113 thousand registered residents living here, but their real number exceeds half a million, taking into account vacationers at the most. In 2005, the record for the influx of tourists was broken; their number during this period amounted to 5.5 million.

Although Pattaya is located in the so-called Industrial Region of the kingdom, industry here is poorly developed. This city is predominantly considered the tourist center of Thailand.

Pattaya on the map

This resort is located in the subequatorial climate zone, so the average annual temperature generally varies from 25 to 32°C. In this part of Thailand it is clearly expressed and lasts from April to October; in November, as is generally accepted, the amount of precipitation begins to decrease significantly. Taking into account such peculiarities of climatic conditions, the height of the tourist season will fall during the period of the year from the beginning of December and lasts until February.

More recently, it was still a small village, which was able to turn into a real dream city in such a short period of time. Today it is considered that the best on the entire east coast of Thailand, and its proximity to Bangkok, which is only a couple of hours away, makes Pattaya even more attractive for tourists.

Not far from this city is the island of Ko Lan, which can be reached by finding out where the pier in Pattaya is located, from where ferries depart to various destinations. This place is called Bali Hai and is located not far from the famous Walking Street.

A tourist map of Pattaya in Russian will give you the opportunity to better navigate the territory of this Thai resort; for this, you can study it in detail before the trip. It shows that the entire city is divided into several districts.

    • The first of them is Naklua or, as many Russian-speaking tourists also call it, North Pattaya. There is a calmer and more peaceful atmosphere here without various go-go dancing establishments and night discos, and the beaches and sea in this part of the city are a little cleaner.
    • A noisier and more densely populated area is Central Pattaya. This is where various entertainment venues, massage parlors, tour desks and shops are located. Due to the overabundance of people, this part of the resort is very noisy and crowded.
    • The next area is South Pattaya. It is in this place that the well-known Walking Street is located. From this part of the city it is very convenient to get to various other islands and beaches.
    • The greenest and quietest area of Pattaya is Pratamnak, or as it is also called – The Hill, as it is located on an elevated area. There is a walking path that runs along the entire sea, along which you can go to Jomtien Beach. There is no public transport in this area and the tourist infrastructure is not particularly developed, but some tourists choose it for their holidays because of its beautiful nature and the small number of vacationers.

Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia that attracts tourists from all over the world.

Beautiful beaches, gentle sunshine, and the hospitality of local residents provide a wonderful holiday for travelers, and even encourage some to move.

Geographical location

Thailand occupies the western part of the peninsula Indochina and the northern side of the Malay Peninsula and has access to two oceans: the Pacific and Indian. Almost the entire territory of the state is dominated by tropical and subequatorial climate zones.

In this country they change three seasons: cool season (from November to February), hot season (from March to May) and rainy season (from early June to late October).

The country's currency is the baht, which maintains its stable position against the dollar. All banknotes feature the current King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Thailand's population is about 70 million people, more than 80% of the inhabitants are ethnic Thais and Laotians. Official language recognized as Thai. For foreign citizens, learning the local language is considered quite difficult, as it has a tonal pronunciation.

Popular cities and resorts

In Thailand, the population is evenly distributed throughout the territory, so there are no large metropolises, not counting the capital of the state, and small towns and settlements predominate.

Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. It is a concentration of modern skyscrapers and shopping centers with ancient temples. Bangkok is home to the main attractions of Thailand: the Royal Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. From Suvarnabhumi Airport you can reach the capital in half an hour, and from there you can go anywhere in the country.

How and how long does it take to fly to Thailand from major Russian cities? Distance, travel time and much more - here.

Koh Chang

Koh Chang Island is located in Trat Province, 300 km from Bangkok. On the shores of the beaches there are many hotel complexes and bungalows. The sea here is very clean due to the fact that the beaches are part of the national marine park, so any water activities are prohibited here (boats, skis, catamarans). The nightlife is quite rich, there are bars and restaurants.

Pattaya

Pattaya is considered the most popular resort Thailand. Affordable prices, numerous beaches, a huge selection of nightlife entertainment - all this is in abundance here.

But there is also a minus - dirty water in the bay. If sea bathing is a priority for you, then either choose another resort, or you will have to travel every day to the island of Koh Larn, where the sea is clear.

Phuket

The island of Phuket is located 800 km from Bangkok. He is considered the largest resort in the country. There are beaches with developed infrastructure throughout the territory, but after sunset, life on the island comes to a standstill. This place is more suitable for a relaxing family holiday. Accommodation prices are quite reasonable, but taxi prices can be a little high.

Similan Thai Park

The Similan Islands are located in the Andaman Sea and have the status of a national Thai park. They are trying to preserve the natural beauty of this place, therefore any construction and use of transport is prohibited. On the island, tourists can expect tropical forests, white beaches and clear seas.

Krabi

Krabi province is located 800 km from Bangkok. Her the territory has quaint landscapes– rectangular rocks covered with greenery. There are large hypermarkets here, but tourists rarely visit Krabi because there is no normal entry into the sea.

Thailand is a paradise for foodies. Read our article for a detailed description of the country’s fruits and how to eat them.

Koh Phangan

The island of Koh Phangan is simply paradise for nightlife lovers and is located near Koh Samui. Full moon parties are held here every month. They are held in the open night sky and attract tens of thousands of people, both foreigners and local residents. At this time, all hotels and beaches are crowded, so reservations must be made in advance.

Samui

In Thailand, Koh Samui is the third largest island and is located 750 km from Bangkok. It has a huge number of beaches and developed infrastructure, including large hypermarkets, hotels, bars and restaurants.

Main tourist attractions

What are the main attractions that a tourist should pay attention to? Let's try to highlight the most significant and interesting ones:

Airports in the country

There are 5 in Thailand largest airports:

  • Suvarnabhumi located east of Bangkok, was built in 2006. The airport building is a rectangular building of 4 floors with branches branching off from it, through which passengers go through passport control on the way to the plane.

The structure is so huge that sometimes just moving around the airport can take from half an hour to an hour. There are all the amenities for a comfortable stay for tourists in the airport building: cafes and restaurants, playgrounds, shops and lounges.

  • Phuket International Airport, consisting of two terminals, is the second most important aviation hub for passenger transportation. Numerous cafes and restaurants, duty-free shops are at their service.
  • Don't know what to bring from Thailand for your friends and family? We'll tell you! Great gift ideas here.

  • Krabi Airport it is also divided into two terminals for domestic and international flights, has only one runway, but it is quite long - 3000 m. The airport building itself is not too large, but this does not prevent it from serving up to 700 thousand passengers a year.
  • Pattaya U-Tapao Airport serves mainly domestic air travel, therefore it consists of one terminal with an area of 2600 sq. m. The technical center for servicing ThaiAirways is located here.
  • Koh Samui Airport located almost in the forest, which is why it won the title of the most unusual airport terminal in Asia. It has no premises; the building itself is a large gazebo. The main carrier of passengers at this airport is Bangkok Airlines, which built it in 1989.
  • When going on vacation to a new country, a tourist is always visited by a slight feeling of fear, especially if there is no knowledge of the language and no travel experience. “What should I do if I get lost? How to find a hotel? A map of the tourist’s holiday area can give a feeling of confidence in walking. In the article you will find detailed maps of Pattaya and its areas.

Theoretically, Pattaya is not a big resort. In the very first days you will adapt and be able to find your way to the hotel without a map. But nevertheless, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the general map of the resort:

As you can see on the map, most of the resort faces the sea. By district, the city can be divided into the center - beach and second streets; the northern part - the tourist area with hotels ends exactly as shown on the map; the southern part is divided into Buddha Hill, shown on the map, and continues far to the south for about another 15 km.

    City center
    Pattaya

There are more hotels in the central part. On the one hand, residents of the center are lucky - the infrastructure for tourists is the most developed here. You don’t have to take a taxi, everything is located within walking distance - shopping centers, markets, restaurants, cafes, Walking street - red light district, etc. On the other hand, the sea here is the most unsightly in the resort (see article Best hotels and beaches in Pattaya)

The beach street faces the sea and has one-way traffic from north to south. The second street runs parallel to the beach street - but one-way traffic flows in the opposite direction - from south to north. Between the two main streets there are small jays - streets in Thai.

Also in the center, at the end of Walking Street, there is a pier from which ferries depart to the nearest island of Koh Larn. Ticket price is 30 baht, ferry schedule can be found on the map.

South - Buddha Hill and Jomtien Beach

If you look at the general map of Pattaya, Buddha Hill is located closer to the center, and the Jomtien coast stretches further south - all this is southern Pattaya.

Among tourists there are a lot of fans of Buddha Hill for holidays in Pattaya. Quite clean sea, wide beach line, prestigious quiet place, not far from the center. It is still not possible to reach the center on foot; shuttle transport for tourists can be provided by the hotel. Otherwise, taxis are available to tourists.

Buddha Hill smoothly merges into the Jomtien coastline; theoretically, it can also be divided into 2 parts - in the city and outside the city. The part of the city that runs along Jomtien Beach Street is located. Outside the city, this is the one that does not have a road along the coast. Conventionally, on the map a little further than the Sigma Hotel.

Tourists from hotels in Jomtien located in the city can use tuk-tuks running along the first beach street of Jomtien to the center. The fare is 10 baht per person (price may change upon arrival). But tourists living outside the city, unfortunately, will not be able to use route tuk-tuks, only a taxi or a bus shuttle from the hotel. But in the south of Pattaya there is the cleanest sea and a quiet and serene holiday.

    North Pattaya - Naklua

The northern part of the resorts is called Naklua. This is a fairly prestigious part of the city; many 5* hotels are located here. If you are staying in a hotel on the seashore and want to go shopping in the center, you will have to take a taxi from the hotel. If you want to save money, you can walk to Naklua Street, wait for a tuk-tuk route and take it to the center. The tourist area of the northern part ends at the Garden Sea View hotel; further north along the coast there are practically no hotels; a fishing village begins. The northern hotel “Cholchan” is the farthest from the center and is located on the outskirts of Pattaya.

When returning to your hotels in the evening, you can always use the business card you took from the hotel in advance. This will save you from unnecessary explanations with the driver and using the card. Although, undoubtedly, a few days after your arrival, you will no longer need the card!

    Welcome to Thailand!
