Map of Kata Phuket with roads. Tourist map of Thailand with islands in Russian. Phuket attractions: beaches, entertainment, shops, restaurants and more

Today, maps have successfully migrated to tablets and phones, but you shouldn’t give up on time-tested paper counterparts, especially since almost any map of Phuket can be obtained completely free.

I love electronic cards in various gadgets and devices, but they have one big drawback - battery drain, but there is no such problem for paper.

Paper maps have several more undeniable advantages:

  • Most tourist cards can be obtained for free (this is their huge advantage);
  • a paper map can easily be left in the external glove compartment of a moped and no one will covet it (try doing the same with an iPad);
  • You can make notes on your knowledge of the island on paper maps;
  • A paper map can be thrown away anywhere and it will not cause any harm to nature.

Free cards also have their drawbacks; almost all of them contain advertisements; more precisely, the card adorns the advertising brochure - this is the price for being free. However, some advertisements will come in handy; most discounts on advertisements work (tested from personal experience).

Another feature of all free maps is the lack of complete information (on one, restaurants and cafes are indicated, on another, large hotels, on the third, markets and attractions). This problem can be solved very simply, just take a few cards and the picture will become clearer. However, there is a much more serious problem, in many Asian countries - this is the name of the streets. For example, on a paper map there is one name, on Google Maps there is another, but in real life this street may not have any name at all.

Where to get a free map of Phuket in Russian

You can get a paper map for free at the following places:

  • at Phuket airport - do not rush to leave the airport building, you can get many useful things there, from a free tourist SIM card to a free transfer; if you look closely, you will also find local maps;
  • from your tour operator - if you arrived on vacation on a package tour, then with a high probability a paper map will be presented to you by the guide;
  • in shopping centers - the resort has many shopping centers and other places where tourists gather, in most of them you can get a free map of the island;
  • at the hotel - most large hotels have special advertising stands where you will find everything you need; to receive a card you do not have to be a guest of this hotel.

The best map of Phuket in Russian

I had a variety of maps of the island, including from the largest tourist operators, but all of them, to put it mildly, did not live up to being considered completely Russian-language. All of their Russification consisted only in the fact that the booklets had large headings in Russian and that’s all. The most Russified map was discovered completely by accident and perhaps it is the simplest and most convenient. Unfortunately, not all the sights of the island are indicated on it, and the Russification is so-so, but the map can be useful for those who came to the island for the first time.

Phuket map from travel agency Sabai

Tourist map >>> Download map

The Sabai tourist office has a good Russian-language map; it is given to all Teztur tourists (it’s not entirely clear what Teztur has to do with it, but the map is not bad). There is not enough Russian language on it, but there is detail in the main tourist places. In addition to advertising shops and other entertainment venues, the booklet contains detailed maps of the most popular tourist areas of the island.

Map of northern Phuket

In the very north of the island (in Thalang district), there is Phuket International Airport and several tourist beaches (Sai Kaew, Mai Khao, Nai Yang and Naithon). Fans of aviation spotting (photographing airplanes) should head to this part of the island. About the most tourist beaches of the island, read the link.

The map of this area of the island, which is located on the border of Thalang and Kathu districts, shows the layout of expensive hotels near Bang Tao beach.

I have prepared for you a special interactive map of Phuket in Russian, which shows beaches, restaurants, shops, bars, entertainment, parks, gardens - all the attractions of the island. You can study the map online or download it to your mobile phone or tablet to use on your trip. For convenience, click on the icon in the upper left corner, categories of attractions will open, if you wish, you can uncheck or check the box which points to display on the map.

Phuket attractions: beaches, entertainment, shops, restaurants and more

Sometimes people ask me which hotel to choose in Phuket that is closer to the attractions. This question is puzzling. Completely different attractions are scattered throughout the island. Some want to visit the temples, others want to watch evening shows, others want to look into the parks and gardens of the island, and at the same time swim every day in the good sea. In addition, if you are going for several, it will be difficult to come up with the most favorable place to stay. For a trip to the mainland to Khao Lak, or better yet, choose the northern beaches of Phuket. For boat trips, Coral is more convenient to live in the south of the island.

In my opinion, it is better to choose a beach not closer to attractions, but according to other priorities. Do you want a lot of inexpensive restaurants and discos near the hotel? Or do you prefer a deserted beach? Or maybe you are looking for a beach without waves during the rainy season? This will help you find the best beach in Phuket. If you are interested in the sights of Phuket, restaurants, children's places, parks and other interesting things, download. It works offline without an internet connection. The information in it is updated first.

Phuket hotels are mainly located in the western part of the map. There is a developed tourist infrastructure and a lot of entertainment here. The most expensive and secluded options are located in the western part of the Phuket map.

Many hotels are located in the center of Phuket. Most tourists who are not traveling for a beach holiday prefer hotels in Phuket Town, since from here you can easily reach the main attractions.

The hotels on Patong Beach are considered the most popular among young people, as there is a lot of entertainment, music, and dancing. There is also a vibrant nightlife.

For families with children, the best hotels are on the beaches of Bang Tao, Kamala, Kata, Nai Harn and Karon. All Phuket beaches can be seen on the map below.

The main beaches of Phuket on the map

Phuket is considered to have a large number of picturesque beaches. Most beaches with developed infrastructure (with hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants) are located in the western part of the Phuket map. The beaches in the western and southern parts of the Phuket map are considered less developed and wild.

Almost all beaches have fine sand and a gentle entrance. However, there are also wild beaches where it is better to enter the water wearing shale (there are a lot of stones at the bottom and you can injure your leg).

We have dedicated a separate section to the six best beaches in Phuket (such as Kamala, Bangtao and Nai Harn), in which we talk about them in detail.

Travelers come to the island of Phuket for its fabulous beaches, but a map of Phuket with attractions is no less worthy of attention than the white sand and.

Google Maps / google.ru

A detailed map of Phuket will help even an inexperienced tourist to navigate and see all the most interesting things without being tied to excursions in Phuket, at a convenient time and saving money.

What should you see?

The Phuket tourist map advises travelers to pay attention to museums:

  1. Tai Nua.
  2. Seashells.

In addition to museums, the attractions of the island of Phuket that are interesting to every traveler are:

  • Big Buddha;
  • Khao Lak National Park;
  • Cape Promthep (observation platform);
  • Similan;
  • Phuket Zoo.

It’s quite easy to find your way around Thailand in general and directly in Phuket, and tourists who come here for the first time will need a map of Phuket in Russian.

Main museums of the island

Sights are scattered throughout different places in Phuket; it is best to start exploring them with museums.

Tai Hua

The museum is located in a building built at the very beginning of the last century and designed in a colonial style. Its appearance intricately combines tangible elements of elegant French architecture with local practicality and functionality.

phuket.tourslife.ru

A building was being built for a Chinese primary school, but only the central wing remained from the original original building, but it has been preserved unchanged.

The museum doors are open daily from 9:00 to 17:00, entrance fee is 200 baht.

The central streets of the island's capital can be easily reached on foot from almost any hotel in Phuket Town that hosts tourists.

Talang is both the name of one of the districts and the museum; on a map that has not been translated into Russian, they can be confused.

phuket.tourslife.ru

Thalang National Museum, which is how the museum is indicated on the map of Phuket, tells about the history of Thailand since ancient times; separate exhibitions tell the story of Fr. Phuket. A very interesting room tells about the discovery of tin deposits here, which was the reason for the mass migration of Chinese workers, which completely changed the ethnic ratio of the population.

According to the latest census, 35% of the population of Phuket cities are Chinese, 20% are Thai, 40% are southern ethnic Thais and Malays, 5% are a complex ethnic group, direct descendants of pirates. This is actually a separate diaspora, with its own traditions, culture and history. The hall dedicated to piracy is also extremely interesting, especially for children who love films about pirates.

There are also exhibits on the street, a large exhibition tells about the 2004 tsunami, with original objects, cars and many other evidence of this tragedy. There is also an exhibition that imitates ancient Thai thatched villages.

The museum welcomes visitors every day, except Mondays and Sundays, from 08:30 to 16:00. Entrance costs 100 baht, there are discounts for children, you will have to pay 50 baht for them.

phuket.tourslife.ru

The museum is located on Si Sunthon Street. When walking around the Thalang district, you need to focus on the Monument to the Heroines (Monument to Chan and Muk). From there you need to walk east about 200 meters, it’s impossible to get lost, there are signs on the street.

Walking is the best way to get to know the museum and the area itself, which has temples, waterfalls and much more. Separate guide “Phuket Town. Talang" will be very useful for any traveler. Such brochures, without Russification, of course, are available in the lobby of any hotel on the island.

Shell Museum

An original and non-overwhelming museum that displays marine wonders, a variety of shells, pebbles and much more. The museum has a shop selling a variety of shell and pearl items, from simple decorative shells and jewelry to cutlery and jewelry boxes.

It is located in the Rawai area, next to the popular Palm Village Phuket hotel and Rawai Beach, beloved by many travelers.

The museum is located on Vicet Road and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ticket costs 200 baht for an adult and 100 baht for a child.

Camping and zoo

National parks and zoos occupy a special place among the attractions of Thailand, which is not surprising, given the incredible beauty and richness of the local nature.

Khao Lak National Park

The true kingdom of nature in all its splendor. The park consists of two parts - the mountainous Lam Pi and the beachside Hat Thai Muang. At its core, the park is a large campsite.

water_sss/flickr.com

It is located near the small town of Thai Muang. You can get here from Phuket Town either in a rented car along Highway 4, which will cost on average about 300 baht per day, or by bus from the terminal of the 1st local bus station, which stops directly next to the park. The fare will cost 100 baht, the bus journey takes from 1.5 to 2 hours.

Everything you need for outdoor tourism, that is, camping, can be rented directly in the park.

Here you can visit the sea turtle nursery, where not only turtles live, but also many other sea inhabitants. In addition to the nursery, there is an excellent restaurant in the park, which serves local, general national and European cuisine.

water_sss/flickr.com

The park has a lot of hiking trails through the jungle. It is worth paying attention to the trails to the Chong Fa waterfall, the largest and most beautiful. In addition to it, there are 3 more waterfalls on the territory, smaller ones.

A visit to the park will cost 100 baht, the bill at the restaurant depends on the choice of dishes, you can eat for 40-50 baht, or for 150-200.

The cost of renting a tent is from 120 baht; for a full sleeping set they will ask for 60 baht.

Phuket Zoo

The zoo on the island is small; it opened in 1997 and since then has been in demand not only among tourists, but also among local residents. Black swans, Bengal tigers, orangutans, ostriches, elephants and, of course, crocodiles are always a hit with visitors. In addition to animals and birds, there is a small aquarium on the territory.

Ahmed Rabea / flickr.com

The local zoo also delights with a variety of performances. In addition to the generally ubiquitous crocodile show in Thailand, there is also a show of elephants, monkeys and ostriches.

The zoo is located in the north of the island, near Chalong Bay. Open daily from 8:30 to 18:00. Show performances take place several times throughout the day at intervals of three hours.

Kévin Veau / flickr.com

Ticket price is 500 baht, for children under 12 years old – 300 baht, children under 5 years old are free.

Not far from the zoo is the largest cosmetics store on the island and a water park.

Temples

A map of Phuket attractions, like any other tourist place, cannot do without cultural and historical monuments associated with religion.

The temple complex is very large, entry to the territory is unlimited. You can wander freely, admire the pagodas and take pictures with the Buddhas. “Golden” Buddha statues are everywhere and in a wide variety of poses. In addition, the temple has an excellent observation deck with free access.

Holiday Point / flickr.com

You can enter the territory daily, from 8:00 to 18:00.

The complex is located between the capital of the island and Karon Beach. From all cities of Phuket and from the Karona beach complex, you can take direct bus services directly to the entrance to the temple complex. The fare is from 35 to 50 baht. From distant beach complexes it is easier to get to Phuket Town, and from the capital you can take a direct bus departing from the bus station on Ranong Street every half hour.

A very large temple complex, on the territory of which there are two museums - Buddhism and local tin mines, the most unique of all Buddha statues - Luang Poh Phra Thong, which is a huge golden bust, a working monastery, a crematorium and a cafe. There are signs throughout the area, and in the most unexpected places you can stumble upon ancient cannons and funny figurines.

travel-phuket.ru

Access to the complex has no restrictions, you don’t need to pay any money for anything here. You can visit this place any day during daylight hours, from sunrise to its last ray.

Many mystical tales, beautiful and heroic legends and simple children's folk tales are associated with the temple.

The temple is located in the north, not far from the Thalang district, you can only come here by taxi or rented car, there is no transport near the complex.

Big Buddha

The snow-white Buddha, 45 meters high, is located on Mount Nakaked in the Chalong region and is visible from anywhere on the island. The top of the mountain is considered a place of power, and legends say that Buddha himself once meditated on it.

Eirien / flickr.com

You can take a tuk-tuk from anywhere in the Chalong area or from Karon Beach; the fare will cost from 15 to 40 baht. In addition to the Buddha, the mountain is an excellent viewing platform. Access to it is open from 8:00 to 20:00, admission is free, but for signs with wishes they will ask from 300 to 1000 baht.

What else is there to see?

In addition to excursions in Phuket, there are places near the island that simply need to be visited. One of these places is Similan, that is, the Similan Islands.

These are 10 small, truly paradise islands that make up the National Park. Not all of them are allowed access. Here you can find the best snorkeling and diving in the world, the purest water and the opportunity to spend the night in a tent under palm trees or in a boat under the moon.

Fred von Lohmann / flickr.com

The islands are open from October to May, a one-day excursion costs from 1,900 baht. For each additional day of stay you need to pay an additional 500 baht. Before going on an excursion, you need to find out the most detailed route, because the opportunity to have lunch and wash is only on two of the islands, which some unscrupulous organizers of “discounted” tours delicately keep silent about.

You can get to this fabulous place on your own from any pier in Phuket by renting a boat. The cost may vary, depending on how successfully the traveler knows how to bargain.

Where is the best place to stay?

Phuket is a small island, and since people come to Thailand for its beaches, sun and entertainment, the best place to choose a hotel is Patong. The website will always help you book a room in advance.

Patong is famous not only throughout Thailand, but throughout the world, both for its beaches and nightlife. It is located on Bangla Road and Paradise Complex.

David Johnson / flickr.com

In Patong, the beach line is divided into two main large beaches with developed infrastructure - Patong and Freedom. The first one is very crowded, it is always very noisy, there are a lot of children. Here you can get a massage on a bamboo mat and, in principle, get anything you want, from food to alcoholic cocktails, without leaving your lounger. The second one is quieter, secluded and cozy, without intrusive services, probably due to the distance from large hotels.

From Patong you can easily get to anywhere on the island by bus, rented car or tuk-tuk. There are also a lot of tour operators here, most excursions are organized directly next to the beaches, but there are also organized trips around the island from hotels, which need to be booked in advance.

No matter where the traveler stays on the island, it will not be difficult to explore the sights of Phuket on your own.
