The old part is preferred by those who like to relax in silence, without loud music and noisy youth, while the new part of the city, on the contrary, is suitable for those who prefer clubs, discos and other parties. This city is mainly known for the tango festival, which is held here every July. The beach is sandy, but quite crowded in high season. The town of Calella is a 30-minute drive from Barcelona (trains run regularly between the cities). Tourists come to this place due to reasonable housing prices and the cleanest coastline with snow-white beaches. There is no hustle and bustle in this place, everything is created for an ideal holiday. The thing is that the local residents themselves are categorically against the appearance of large hotel complexes, night clubs and various entertainment centers on the coast.
The town of Santa Susanna stands out for its reasonable prices for rental housing, and therefore tourists come here not only in the summer, but also at other times of the year. The town is located 70 kilometers from Barcelona, which by European standards is not so far, and once or twice you can easily go to the capital of Catalonia and get acquainted with its sights. The beaches are clean, but almost always uncrowded, there are inexpensive cafes and family-type restaurants, and vacationers are offered bicycle, bus, walking and horseback riding tours.
There are more than enough good resorts near Barcelona and if you are interested in a good beach holiday, then you will have a large choice. There is no point in staying in the suburbs of Barcelona only if you plan to travel to the Catalan capital every day (it will cost more than renting a house directly in the city).
