Ilyichevsk is famous not only for its beautiful Black Sea coast and warm climate. It should be noted that it is also an important industrial settlement - many factories operate here and some of the largest ports in Ukraine are located. However, even with this economic factor, it remains a clean and ennobled resort of the Black Sea region. Here there is exactly what attracts modern tourists - alleys, parks, fountains, streets where you can spend a relaxing holiday and breathe in healing air.

The port and all enterprises operating through it are located in the estuary bay. Thanks to this, industry does not affect the environmental condition of the residential sector. It is separated from these buildings by a wide park area.

By the way, in 2016 Ilyichevsk was renamed Chernomorsk. This is where the Bulgarian Golden Sands originate. The clean beach that is located here is interrupted by the mouth of the Danube.

This resort area has become popular due to its fresh and healing air, beautiful sea, warm sun and “golden” beaches. Housing here is inexpensive, which allows people of any income to find good places. The shore is filled with park areas and groves. There are hotels and inns here.

Hello dear readers of the blog site! It has already become a tradition that every year in the summer I publish an article in the “” section, where I talk about my travels outside my beloved homeland in order to relax with my family on the sandy seashore and gain fresh strength.

You understand that offline work, Internet activities and other bustle of life are tied somewhere to clear the brain and relieve accumulated stress.

Purpose of rest: Odessa - Ilyichevsk

Anyone who follows my travels to the shores of the Black Sea knows how we already had to relax in Sudak and Anapa, if not, please read past articles and remember how it was.

I’ll be honest, this year my plans were to visit Bulgaria or Turkey, but sad as it may be to say, the economic crisis and other financial nuances did not allow my plans to come true, I’m sure next summer everything will be different.

Since the railway networks cover all countries, this year we again chose the “Belarusian Chygunka” for a trip to the Black Sea coast.

Since the road to the Crimean peninsula became impossible for ordinary citizens for political reasons, we decided to make our way to Odessa, and from there to some coastal city or village (Zatoka, Ilyichevsk, Gribovka, Molodeznoye, etc.).

We bought tickets for the Minsk-Odessa train, where we had to spend about 20 hours on the road.

Once in the hero city of Odessa, we did not bother with public transport, so thanks to a private cab, our company was delivered to a small town called Ilyichevsk.

The city is located 20 km from Odessa on the right bank of the Sukhoi Liman.

By the time we got to our destination, it was about one o’clock in the afternoon, plus we had to spend several hours looking for accommodation.

To be honest, this year a large flow of vacationers poured into the Odessa lands, so we had to tinker a lot with housing, which could not help but exhaust us.

I even began to regret that I had not resolved this issue earlier, while I was still in Belarus.

After checking into the private sector, we went to the beach (we were 100% pleased with the warm and clean water), bought some groceries and decided to relax.

We need to gain strength before subsequent days of active rest.

Resort Ilyichevsk - day after day

Every day we started from the beach, which took almost 20 minutes to get there. The central beach is wide, sandy, and most importantly with warm and mirror-clear water.

I have been to different places of the Black Sea, but for some reason it was only in the Odessa region that I noticed such mirror-clear water.

Or maybe this is all due to the fact that last year Anapa upset us with green algae.

There are a lot of vacationers on the beach, but due to the fact that it is long and wide, people do not gather in one place, which makes it possible to easily find a place.

For entertainment, the beach gives everyone the opportunity to ride a banana, a bun, a Batman, an ATV and other water attractions.

Local residents will not leave anyone unattended and will offer to buy sweets (baklava, buns, straws, waffles), seafood (mussels, rapana, shrimp), as well as various kinds of drinks.

But if someone wants to save money, then just walk a few meters from the beach and it will be possible to buy the same thing, but for less money.

For food, we decided not to resort to cooking and other cuisine, so we ate in local bars, cafes and restaurants right on the Black Sea shore.

For example, the price tag for a set lunch ranged from 35 to 60 hryvnia.

If we talk about prices for food, clothes and other goods, then for us residents of Belarus they are low, since they do not exceed ours, and yet we are at a resort.

But not everything was as rosy as it seems at first glance. There were establishments where it was simply uncomfortable to be (uncleaned tables, cobwebs, dirt), not to mention eating there.

If we talk about the weather, we were unlucky, because of the 6 days that we arrived, most of them were heavily cloudy, windy and rainy. 🙁

And as if by the law of meanness, on the day when we boarded the train back home, the warm sun appeared.

Thanks to the bad weather, we decided to take some kind of excursion and see other surroundings besides Ilyichevsk.

The Ilyichevsk region does not spoil tourists much with excursions, since there is simply nowhere to go. There is a local port, but it is expensive for tourists.

Therefore, for those who like to see something there, they will have to go towards Odessa, which we did with the help of a local travel agency.

To be honest, I’ve heard a lot about Odessa, but I never thought that it was such a young, but at the same time large, and most importantly beautiful city.

It was even a little disappointing that we chose boring Ilyichevsk for our vacation. I recommend everyone to relax in Odessa, even if it is more expensive, but it is worth it.

The tour of Odessa lasts about 4 hours, during which we managed to see: Derevyanko Square, Fountain, French Boulevard, Philharmonic Hall, House of Clowns, Zhvanetsky Boulevard, Monument to the Bribe, Shah's Palace, Mother-in-Law Bridge, Bridge of Love, Flat House, Vorontsov Palace, Opera House, Potemkin Stairs, monument to Duke de Richelieu, monument to Catherine II, monument to A.S. Pushkin, Deribasovskaya, “Tree of Love”, Primorsky Boulevard, City Garden and much more.

On other stormy days, we had no desire to go anywhere else, so we simply enjoyed the raging Black Sea.

Conclusion

Of all my trips to the Black Sea coast, this turned out to be the least interesting.

We were unlucky with the weather (most days are rainy) and the vacation spot (Ilyichevsk is a boring city, and the Odessa coast is a flat area, the views of which do not impress tourists in any way).

In a word, Odessa is very far from Crimea and I am very sorry that now it is not possible for us to relax there under the same conditions as before.

If you want to see only the Black Sea, for little money, the Odessa region is waiting for you. If you want something more, then look for another place.
