So, when we arrived in Thailand, we needed to somehow get from Bangkok airport to Hua Hin. There are only two convenient options for getting there - bus or taxi. I'll tell you briefly about each of them.

But this direction has its own characteristics. For example, there may not be enough seats and you will have to wait for the next bus in 2 hours, or even more. The last bus is at 19.30, after this time it will be possible to get there. We arrived in the morning and were lucky, we only waited an hour and a half. During this time you can change clothes and eat.

By the way, on the same floor there is an inexpensive food court, where food is paid for by card, on which you need to put 200-300 baht at the checkout, and then take the rest. There is also a Family Mart on the 4th floor in the departure hall on the right side of the airport.

New bus station in Hua Hin

Where does the bus take you from the airport? Where is the bus station? It is important to note that since 2017 the bus arrives at the new Hua Hin bus station, which is located outside the city near the old airport.

From this station there is a free minibus to the center - Kloch Tuaer. There are also paid minibuses directly to the hotel for 100 baht per person. The Songthaews don't make it here. If you want to go by tuk-tuk, you will need to walk along the road for about 10 minutes to the Makro store.

New bus station on the map:

It is marked on the Google map as “RRC BUS STATION”. Coordinates: 12.631492, 99.950397

Alternative options: minibuses and train

There are several more complicated ways to get to Hua Hin from the airport. For example, you can take the metro to Morchit or Ekkamai bus station. There are always minibuses there that go every 30 minutes to an hour. The fare is about 200 baht, but it may have changed now. The disadvantage of this method is that you will have to take the metro with transfers with your luggage, and then look for minibuses. There used to be minivans from Victory Monument, but they have now been cancelled.

Another option is to go to Hua Hin by train from the railway station Hua Lampong. The main inconvenience is that you first need to get to this station with transfers, and then get on the train, which runs quite rarely. Travel time also increases: 5 hours by train + road to the station and waiting. This route can take almost the whole day. But the train brings to the Hua Hin attraction - .

Taxi Bangkok - Hua Hin

Taxi Bangkok - Hua Hin

The easiest and most comfortable way is book a transfer Bangkok - Hua Hin, then you will be met in the arrival hall and you will immediately go to XX without any fuss and waiting. In addition, it will be most convenient to order an individual transfer if you arrive at night or are traveling with children.

You can find a taxi to Hua Hin at the airport building or in advance order online. At the airport, you can order a taxi at official counters at a fixed price. But if you want to save money, first ask the counter how much a taxi costs in Hua Hin, and then go up to the third or fourth floor and go outside. There you can try to catch a taxi when they drop off passengers. Just go up to the taxi drivers and bargain, you can negotiate cheaper than at the counter.

To avoid looking for taxi stands and haggling with taxi drivers, you can order a transfer online. At the airport you will be met with a sign with your name and taken by the hand to a taxi. It’s very convenient if you don’t know English, since no one speaks Russian at the airport. A child seat can be installed for a child (add a tick when ordering). If you are flying with a large group, then in order to minimize transfer costs, order a minibus.

  • Place a transfer order to Hua Hin >

One of the closest resorts to Bangkok is Hua Hin, just 3 hours away. There is also Bang Saen closer, but it is completely Thai, the beaches there are worse and the atmosphere is also different. Hua Hin is a very pleasant place, it is not for nothing that it is the resting place of the king.

There are several ways to get to Hua Hin: minibus, bus, train, transfer, taxi, plane. Some tickets can be purchased online.

About minibass

Minibus (or they are also called minivans) runs to Hua Hin from several places in Bangkok:

  • Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport
  • Khao San Road
  • Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai Bus Terminal)
  • Northern Bus Terminal (Mor Chit Bus Terminal)

Accordingly, whichever place is closest to you, you need to go from there (). The cost is approximately the same everywhere and amounts to 180-200 baht per trip. Travel time is about 3 hours. They run often, once every half hour or hour, but as the car fills up, somewhere from 5 am to 7 pm. They come straight to the very center of Hua Hin and drop off right at Phetkasem at the intersection with Naeb Kehardt near the central temple of Wat Hua Hin. This place is also called Clock Tower - clock tower. And almost from here (literally 100 meters) they leave back to Bangkok.

Please note that buses are cramped inside, and with a large number of things, as well as those who cannot tolerate cramped conditions, it is better to take buses and taxis.

Victory Monument

Since October 2016, minivans no longer operate from here to other cities in Thailand. The military junta was battling traffic jams in the square caused by 4,000 minibuses, which essentially created an illegal bus station in the middle of the city. Minivans have been distributed between the three main bus terminals in Bangkok and free shuttles now run from Victory Monument to these three bus stations. Shuttles run from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm every 20 minutes.

Khao San Road

If you live in the Khao San Road area, then go to any travel agency and ask for a transfer to Hua Hin. It can be either a bus or a minibus. The prices are just higher than everywhere else.

Southern and Northern bus stations

Regular taxi

A taxi from Bangkok to Hua Hin costs around 2000-3000 baht, depending on your bargaining ability. You can take a taxi both from the airport and from the hotel. However, you can get right off the street. It travels almost as long as a minibus in terms of time, only with more comfort. Discuss the price in advance.

Rent a Car

I understand that it’s only a 3-hour drive to Hua Hin, but nevertheless I’ll tell you about this option. It may be useful for active travelers who are planning to travel around the area, or Hua Hin is their intermediate destination. Very convenient, a rental car arrives and is already waiting for you. I have already written all the points related to it.

By plane from Bangkok to Hua Hin

Here is the airport website http://www.huahinairport.com/, and at the moment there are no planes flying to Hua Hin. The reason is not known to me; they were still flying a few years ago. But it really doesn’t matter, you can always get there from Suvarnabhumi in 2-3 hours by taxi, which will be comparable in time and money.

Although there is information that a 12-seater Cessna Grand Caravan plane flies a couple of times a day. But I think it was canceled too.

How to get from Hua Hin to Bangkok

All the methods indicated above are valid: minibuses, buses, taxis, and trains. From Hua Hin you can also get to Pattaya by minibus. Here's a map with dots to help you, to make it easier to find everything.

HuaHin is a small resort town on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. There are two main ways to get to Hua Hin.

How to get to Hua Hin by train

To travel from Bangkok to Hua Hin by train, you need to go to Hua Lampong Station, located above the MRT station of the same name. See the location of Bangkok and Hua Hin train station on the map below.

Trains to Hua Hin depart approximately once an hour from eight in the morning to eleven in the evening. The stated travel time is 3.5-4 hours, but delays and delays often occur, so just in case, allow an hour and a half more for the journey. Train schedules to Hua Hin and prices can be found on the official website (in English) - railway.co.th.

The cost of tickets Bangkok - Hua Hin depends on the class of carriage and starts from 94 baht for third class (analogous to an electric train) to 482 baht for second class with air conditioning.

How to get to Hua Hin by bus

You can get from Bangkok to Hua Hin by bus either from the city itself or directly from the main airport Suvarnabhumi (BKK).

From Suvarnabhumi Airport

Quite a convenient and comfortable way to get to Hua Hin if you have just arrived in Bangkok. To get to the bus parking lot, you need to go down to the First floor of the airport and go to exit No. 8. Buses depart seven times a day - from 07:29 am to 19:30 pm, with an interval of 2 hours. The cost of a ticket from Suvarnabhumi to Hua Hin is only 294 baht. More information about the bus service can be found on the official website: airporthuahinbus.com.

From Bangkok

You can get to Hua Hin directly from Bangkok either by a large bus or by minivan.

It is more convenient to get to the minivan parking lot: it is located near the Victory Monument, which is easy to reach by taking the metro to the Victory Monument station of the same name (see map). If you can't find the minivan departure point, just ask passers-by (besides, there are usually a lot of Europeans there).

To get to Hua Hin by bus, you need to get to the Southern Bus Terminal, also known as Sai Tai Mai. The bus terminal is located far from any metro stations, so getting to it is not easy. The cost of a ticket Bangkok - Hua Hin is 150 baht.

Hua hin thailand how to get from Bangkok or Pattaya. Since we often had to travel around like this and even move, I will tell you all the ways to get to Hua Hin.

Since we lived in Pattaya for the first year and a half, and then moved to Hua Hin, we had to travel frequently between Pattaya, Bangkok and Hua Hin, so today I will tell you about all the methods I know and share some secrets.

The distance from Bangkok to Hua Hin is 180 km. The road is good and flies by unnoticed, but on Fridays half of the capital rushes to the sea and instead of 3 hours you can drive all 5!

From Pattaya to Hua Hin

Previously, everyone traveled by minibuses with a transfer at Victoria Monument, but now all the minibuses there have been removed and a direct service has been launched. Now there are 2 great ways:

  1. A boat trip costs 1,250 baht per person. Travel time is only 2 hours. Departs every day at 13.00 from the main pier.
  2. You can take a bus from the North Bus Station in Pattaya, it costs 470 baht per person. The journey takes about 5 hours. On Friday and weekends the journey can take more than 7 hours.

How to get to Hua Hin from Bangkok

Bus

Bangkok Hua Hin buses depart from almost any bus station. Also, any bus that goes to Phuket will work for you, because it passes Hua Hin.

  • Khao San Road
  • Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai Bus Terminal)
  • Northern Bus Terminal (Mor Chit Bus Terminal)

Please note that there are buses that depart from Coassan Road. For many, this is the most convenient option because almost everyone stays there overnight, but these tickets almost always need to be booked in advance because they sell out quickly.

The second important link is the famous Bell service, which carries from airports. It is always better to order in advance; it is almost impossible to buy at the airport.

Buses leave from Mochit and Emakai bus stations every hour.

Some buses bring you to the bus station, and it is a few kilometers from the city, if you are brought there, then catch any minibus - it will take you

From the Northern Bus Station: one of the most inconvenient ways, because it is located far from the metro, in a completely non-tourist part of Bangkok. This is a completely typical bus station on the outskirts. They depart every hour, but due to the inconvenient location of the station, this method makes no sense. By the way, this is why I do not recommend the Hua Hin Bangkok Bus - it can take you to this bus station, from which you will only have to get out by taxi and it will take a lot of time.

I spent about 15 minutes looking for the right stand.

Another regular bus runs from Hua Hin; tickets are sold at Gate No. 8 on the ground floor. You can view the schedule and book seats in advance on their official website: http://airporthuahinbus.com/. It’s worth doing this, because I’ve never been able to drive away in it; it was always packed.

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin - the most convenient way with children and suitcases

Transfer from Bangkok to Hua Hin can be booked at any airport. Bangkok Hua Hin transfer price is 2500 baht from Suvarnabhumi Airport. You can order it on the ground floor, where there are several official taxi stands. For those who are traveling for the first time, I would like to note that these are not our private operators who are jacking up prices, but the official one, so it makes no difference whether you pay for the transfer directly at the airport or go to the city to catch another taxi.

On the other hand, you can order online, the price will be the same. But at the airport you will be met and immediately taken to your car. On the plus side, you can pay in rubles using a card (without double conversion to baht at the airport), and you also don’t have to queue for a taxi (usually about 15 minutes)

Bangkok Hua Hin Train - the most romantic way

The Bangkok Hua Hin train costs only 100 baht and arrives at the most beautiful and ancient railway station in Thailand. In Hua Hin there is a royal railway platform, which was opened in 1911 and is still in operation. You will find it in any city guide. It really looks very original, there is a small museum of the king inside, and there is also one of the best coffee shops in the city, where very tasty brewed coffee costs only 70 baht. In addition, the station is located in the very center and you can easily reach guest houses, beaches and other hotels.

But there is also a big minus - the train from Bangkok Hua Hin takes a whole 5 hours, which is simply very long, so we have never taken it, but if you ask a Thai, then for them to come to the royal station is a very honor and they will choose exactly this way. If you still decide, the Bangkok Hua Hin train departs from Hua Lampong Station; the schedule can be easily viewed on the station’s website

Minibus from Victoria Monument (no longer available - everyone has been dispersed)

For me, the most convenient way to get to Hua Hin is with minibuses from Victoria Monument. They cost 180 baht per person, the journey takes 2.5 - 3 hours.

Victoria Monument is a place where you can go anywhere in Thailand. There are hundreds of small companies here with identical minibuses, which come out of different gateways and garages every second, so there is an eternal traffic jam here. It’s quite difficult to find your way for the first time, since companies in certain areas are usually located in one place (but try to find it first).

I always land near Century - The Movie Plaza, it's right next to the BTS station so don't miss it. By the way, a small bonus: In this shopping center on the second floor there is a Pizzeria Buffet, this is when you pay 200 baht and can eat as much as you want. There, in addition to standard soups, appetizers and meat, they constantly bring you different pizza for 2 hours! Just don't go there at lunchtime, because... all the locals go there and there will be no empty seats from 13.00 to 15.00, and the rest of the time it is free.

All minibuses have been removed, the method is no longer relevant

This shopping center has minibuses and delicious pizza inside.

By plane to Hua Hin Airport (the airport is closed to passenger aircraft)

Hua Hin Airport is currently closed to regular flights, with only military aircraft and a pilot training base remaining there. Also, the king himself flies to it, because his active palace is located in Hau Hin and he rests there quite often. This does not affect the ordinary life of the city; it can only be noticed by the reinforced police presence at the palace.

Moreover, at the moment the Thai authorities have no plans to develop this resort town, because... It is already overcrowded, so flights are unlikely to resume any time soon.

From Hua Hin to Bangkok

In fact, all the methods described above work in the opposite direction, so I will only write the features and how to get to the bus stations.

Minibuses come from the center and arrive at bus stops in Bangkok. This is the fastest and most convenient way, but if you need to, then it is not very convenient. There are buses that go directly to the airport, they depart from the bus station, tickets can be bought online: https://airporthuahinbus.com/. Well, Bell service too. True, there is always a problem getting to this station, because it is far from the center, they say that there is a green tuk-tuk going there, but not always.

Allow 3-4 hours for the road, but if you travel during rush hours, then 5 hours.
