The best seats in the Boeing 777 cabin

The best seats depend on the cabin layout. We can talk about general features:
- it’s better to buy seats near the emergency exit, there is more space there,
- Comfort seats (from 11 to 16 rows in Boeing 777-300),
- any seats with three chairs, but not in front of the toilet,
- the seats next to the aisle are relatively more advantageous; you can stretch your legs for a while,
- when configuring a Boeing 777 aircraft according to the 2-5-2 scheme, when flying together, it is better to take pairs from the window.
- in all economy cabins of the Boeing 777 - the closer the seat to the nose, the greater the distance between the rows.
- the biggest shaking is felt in the tail, least of all at the wings,
- when the flight is not overloaded, it happens that there are no neighbors at all in the tail and there is more freedom than necessary.

The Transaero company has 9 Boeing 777-200 modifications. Currently, the Boeing 777 series airliners are among the largest jet passenger aircraft with two engines.

The Boeing 777-200 has various configurations that can accommodate from 306 to 550 passengers, with a flight range from 10 to 17 thousand km. Transaero Airlines operates two configurations of this aircraft, with 306 and 323 seats, in 4 and 3 class cabins, respectively.

It should be noted that according to global standards, only 3 classes are allowed - first, business and economy, but in practice, airlines create “subclasses”. You can read more about classes of service on airplanes here - link.

The Transaero company divides the cabin into the following classes on its aircraft: imperial, premium (a subtype of business class), business class, economy class and tourist class (a subtype of economy class).

So, let's look at the layout of the Boeing 777-200 cabin in a 4-class layout and figure out which seats are the best and which ones should be taken last.

Imperial class

Imperial has first class seats - all comfortable. The salon has 12 comfortable sofa chairs that transform into beds. Near each chair there is an LCD monitor and a stationary table. The bathroom is located directly in the cabin.

Business Class

Basically in this class all 14 seats are different increased comfort. However, you should pay attention to the places 5 rows (C, D, E), the seat backs are fixed or can be limited in reclining.

Economy class

IN 10th row The seats can be called not very comfortable due to the partition located in front. The disadvantage is the close placement of toilets, where passengers will walk and queues will accumulate.

IN 29 row The seat backs may be fixed or limited in reclining due to the fact that there is a partition or emergency exits behind them. But it is better to clarify this nuance with a company representative before purchasing tickets.

In addition, the seats in this row are located between economy and tourist class and near the restrooms. Therefore, it would be impossible to call them comfortable.

Tourist class

IN Row 30 seats A, B, H,K located next to the emergency exit, this means you will have extra legroom. For passengers making a long flight, this factor is of no small importance.

However, the location of these places in close proximity to restrooms can create inconvenience during travel.

30 row seats C, D, E, F, G located near the toilets and in front of them there is a partition.

Rows 42 and 43 located at the end of the salon. The backrests of the seats are most likely limited in reclining or fixed at all, since there is a wall of toilets behind them. However, all these inconveniences are more than compensated by the main advantage - guaranteed safety. According to global statistics, when airliners crashed, 66% of survivors were in the tail.

On December 13, 2011, Transaero Airlines received its second Boeing 777-300 aircraft. On this occasion, the General Director of Trasaero Olga Pleshakova via your Twitter(by the way, unlike most of the bosses of our airlines, she is the presenter herself!) invited everyone who wanted to photograph this plane.

Thanks to the magnificent and dazzling Ruben I was able to be included in the number of invitees. Here is my short report.

The Boeing 777-300 with tail number EI-UNL that we visited is the first 777-300 that Transaero received back in November of this year. The second 777-300 with tail number EI-UNN had not yet cleared customs at the time of our arrival and was standing nearby.

The plane, of course, is impressive in size, probably even larger than the Boeing 747.
You can read a little more about the Boeing 777 aircraft and its modification -300, for example, in Wikipedia.

Transaero's Boeing 777-300 can carry 373 passengers and offers four classes of service: economy class, premium economy, business class and an elite first class, called Imperial. Let's walk through the salon:

1. Economy class

The plane has an entertainment system and each seat is equipped with its own monitor (for most, in the back of the seat in front). Economy class has 8.9 inch monitors.

Overall, the economy class cabin left me with a very pleasant impression.

2. Premium economy class

As you can see, the same 8.9" monitors are installed here, but the decoration of the seats is different;) and there is more legroom (the distance between the rows of seats is 91 centimeters).

To understand the difference between the rows in economy and premium economy, your humble servant took these photographs (which, admittedly, did not turn out very well, because it was not convenient, but they give an idea):

In general, I will note again: I really liked the economy class. I think that on not very long flights, up to 5 hours, simple economy will be quite comfortable. And on flights longer than 5 hours, I would choose premium economy.
And if there was a rich inheritance, then the next two classes =)

3. Business class

In business class there are so-called cocoon seats. Here the distance between the rows is already a gigantic 152 cm! The seats recline 160 degrees, and the installed monitors have a diagonal of 15.4 inches. You can live, right? =)

But, if you don’t have enough money for a personal plane or renting a business jet, then you can use the Imperial class.

4. Imperial

There are only 4 seats in first class. They are partially closed from outsiders, have a built-in massage function and can recline 180 degrees. The TV monitor in Imperial has a diagonal of 23 inches.

And in front of the Imperial is only the cockpit.

Imperial class

First class at Transaero has its own abbreviation - “Imperial”. Quantity seats— 4. The size of the monitor for each chair is 23″. The chair reclines 180 degrees, turning into a comfortable bed. The imperial-class interior can be seen in the photographs below.

Business Class

Business class has 14 seats. The size of the monitor for each chair is 15.4″, the chair reclines almost 180 degrees, the distance between the chairs is 60″ (approximately 150 cm). All business class seats are seats of increased comfort. The business class interior can be seen in the photographs below.

Economy class

Economy class has 133 seats. The distance between the chairs is 36″ (90 cm), and the monitor size for each chair is 8.9″.

Places that deserve your attention are in row 21. These chairs are located in front of the partition and the passage to the toilets.

Also near this partition there are mounts for baby strollers, and folding tables are located in the armrests and are fixed.

However, there is a significant plus that can cover all these minuses. There is quite a lot of legroom near these seats, which is very comfortable on long flights.

pay attention to Row 35, last row of economy class.

It is located near the toilets, and “those who want to” will constantly walk near you, forming queues. Judging by the photographs from the official website of Transaero and similar diagrams of other airlines, these seats have a limitation in reclining seats, and, quite possibly, do not recline at all, as they rest against the wall of the toilet.

Please check this at check-in before making your reservation.

Tourist class

The tourist class is the most numerous on board - only 222 seats out of 373. The distance between the backs of the seats is 32″ (80 cm), the monitor size is 8.9″.

It is also worth paying attention to rows 36 and 49, the features of these places are the same as in row 21 (see above). It is also worth considering the close location to toilets. However, there is a significant advantage, especially on long-haul flights: additional legroom. Also, no one will lean back their chair on you.

Rows 48 and 61 red for the same reason as Row 35.

The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is designed specifically for long flights. The aircraft was created in the early 1990s and has been in active service since 1995. The length of the aircraft is 63.7 meters, the wingspan in various modifications varies from sixty to 64 meters, and the cabin width is almost six meters.

The Boeing version 777-200LR holds the record for the longest non-stop flight.

There are many configurations of this aircraft; depending on the seating arrangement, it can accommodate from three hundred to five hundred and fifty passengers.

Boeing 777-200 of Nordwind Airines

If you are flying Nordwind

Nordwind Airlines has two Boeing 777-200 aircraft in its fleet, in the 777-200ER configuration, which includes 393 seats, divided into business and economy classes. Below is a diagram of the Boeing 777-200 cabin and best places in the salon that are worth choosing.

Nordwind Airines Boeing 777-200 cabin layout

This modification of the cabin provides the following breakdown of seats by row: three in the first row, three in the last and four seats in the middle. Toilets are located at the beginning and end of the cabin, there are two bathrooms in different parts of the cabin, utility and kitchen facilities are located at the head and tail of the aircraft, one kitchen is located in the middle of the cabin. There are only six seats in business class, all located at the front of the cabin. Economy class starts from the fifth row.

The fifth and sixth rows of seats are good in their own way, but there is also a fly in the ointment. The downside of these seats is that in front of you there will be a blank wall separating business class from the rest of the cabin. In addition, you won’t be able to stretch your legs, there simply won’t be enough space, and the dining table will have to be taken out of the armrest. But in front of you there will be no annoying neighbors who would recline their chairs. The same advantages and disadvantages are observed throughout the 20th row, as well as on places D-G the twenty-first row, but instead of the business class wall, there will be a toilet in front of you.

Business class aircraft

Rows twelve to fourteen (except for the last three seats in row 12) have a small radius of seat back adjustment because they are located next to the kitchen. In rows 38 and 39 the same problem is observed, only the reason is the proximity of the bathrooms. Another disadvantage of the close location of the WC is the constant flow of passengers past your seat.

The seats in the 45th row are comfortable, since this is where the emergency exits are located, which means there is additional space. But the row 46 next to it is limited in maneuvers - again the proximity of the toilets is to blame.

The seats in the last rows from 54 to 56 are quite comfortable where there are two people. The fuselage narrows at the tail, so there are fewer seats. But rows 57 and 58 are an extremely bad choice. The seats do not recline, and there is a toilet and utility room behind.

Presented to you is a Boeing 777-200 Nord Wind, the cabin layout of which contains the best and not so good seat options. When buying a plane ticket, be sure to pay attention to what seat you are buying, don’t get into trouble - choose seats in which you will enjoy the flight.

Choosing Aeroflot aircraft

Aeroflot has at least thirteen such aircraft. The airline operates aircraft of the 777-200ER modification, the most modern of all existing ones.

The aircraft cabin is divided into three classes: business, comfort and economy, and can accommodate 402 people.

Toilets and galleys are located at the tail and head of the aircraft, as well as at the beginning, middle and end of the cabin. The seats are arranged according to the pattern: “three chairs-four-three chairs.” The fuselage tapering towards the tail suggests a two-four-two configuration. The most seats are in economy class, thirty are in business class, the rest of the seats belong to the “comfort” category.

When flying on a Boeing 777-200 (cabin diagram), the best seats are, of course, located in the classes top level. However, if your choice is economy class, then pay attention to the following rules for choosing a comfortable seat so that the flight brings you only joy.

Economy class starts from the 17th row, where it is quite convenient to fly, since there is an emergency exit in front of the seats, and this guarantees free space around. Two seats in the 18th row, namely C and H, are the most comfortable, as they are located far from the utility rooms, and there are no other seats in front of them.

The seat pitch in the economy row is 74 cm.
